well thank you Jan
Pixie was a good girl for the vet and of course she just
charmed him. The blood draw went well, she stood perfectly still for it but the
results won't come back for a few days. They tested for everything, including
doing the thyroid panel. They also did the desert panel which tests for valley
fever, (a common thing here) tick fever and one other thing common to the area
I can't remember, and also for epilepsy. If it turns out she has epilepsy they
won't medicate until it becomes cluster seizures. The other thing they found
was that she has a bit of cataract looking thing right on the edge of her iris.
That explains the night blindness but he suggested I take her to a doggy eye
doc for her eyes cause its not a normal type cataract and she is only 3 years
old. I really liked this vet, it was a new one to us and Pixie seemed to like
him too. The other vet we had been using, well Gracie always tried to bite
her and Pixie tried to once too so I guess we have a new vet, and this one
is cheaper, makes me happy.
Will have to wait a few more days for the results of the blood draw. I hate
waiting but at least Pixie is in no life threatening danger, just a worried mom.
