Thrilling Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thrilling Tuesday

Postby Irmi » Tue Jul 09, 2013 8:16 am

Good morning everyone!

It's going to be another warm, humid day in our corner of the country, but it sure beats the cold temperatures with gusting winds that we experience during the winter months, so I'm not complaining.

Yesterday, the ladies I workout with went to the casino in Dover DE to spend a few hours playing the slots and had lunch together. We always have a good time when we get together. Today, one of the ladies and her hubby, who just sold their home in MD to move to FL, are meeting us to have lunch together. Then I'll pack my overnight bag to spend the rest of the day and night with my parents. This is the fourth week of radiation for my Mom, so she's just about halfway done. Dad hasn't felt well for a long time, so I need to talk to the RN that works for them to see what his oxygen level is. His doctor says he's not ready for oxygen yet, but I hate to see him so miserable.

I hope everyone is happy and healthy and enjoying whatever you are doing.

Good morning Irmi & Joan :D

Irmi, your parents are in my prayers...Hey Joan, I read where you're thinking of Baja this winter--go girl!!! Glad you've been able to return to full-timing, after your health issues...

Well, no rain here YET! Will get out to mow. Looking forward to meeting up with PeggyinCT at a LoW's gtg later this week--anyone belong to that org? We'll be in VT, not more than 200 miles from me. Hopefully, drier weather conditions there :D, but like Irm, I prefer the summer rain, warmth, even the humidity "better" than cold, bitter winter wind/snow. That puts it all into perspective 8-)

Okay ladies, that's it for this morning. Hope y'all have a great day & safe travels always! :P

Good Morning Irmi, Joan and all who follow,

Had started and posted a Morning Coffee thread and then discovered that Irmi and I apparently were doing one at the same time. So am deleting mine and moving over here since hers was posted first. Was beginning to think that everybody was too wet to post this morning. Sorry that so many of you are having either rain or heat issues. No way to enjoy a summer. Guess we are all going to be glad for fall. A muggy damp morning here too.

Irmi, sorry to hear of your parents health issues. No fun watching them as they get older. I know what you are going through with as had the same thing with my mom, only it was ovarian cancer and chemo treatments.

Yep, I'm back home from the U.P. Came home yesterday, driving in rain the last 70 miles or so. Oh well. Seem to be the word these days. I'm surprised that nobody's started coffee this morning and it's already after 9. Guess you all must be too wet to bother today. Sorry so many of you are having to put up with heat or rain this summer so far. Guess we are all going to be glad when fall gets here. It's one of those muggy damp days here today too.

Had a wonderful time in the U.P., enjoyed being by the lake again. Felt so much like home cause of having lived on a lake for a number of years before moving to my current location. Have decided I need to seek and small cottage or something on a lake again, if I can find one I can afford. Even Sassy didn't want to leave. She stood by the door to our unit and wanted to go back in, not get in the car. All of my dogs that have gone up there with me, find ways to stall off leaving when it's time

So today it's back to routine stuff. Need to do some shopping as my fridge is bare. But on the other hand, I need to lose weight, so maybe I should just leave it that way

Maggie, glad you arrived home safely. I too enjoyed having you here. Too bad we only had one day or I could have taken you over to the other side of the state. There were places I would have loved to have taken you, but you were already heading there with family. Hope you all had a grand time and enjoyed seeing the sights. Can't wait to see you pics from your adventures. Are you the one responsible for that cooler that was on my porch when I came home by chance? that was a surprise.

I have some pics from my touring around the U.P. to post as well, but right now my computer refuses to download them from my memory stick and I can't find the camera's USB cable anywhere. So guess it's a trip to the computer repair shop. I need a new computer anyway as this one is beginning to act up, so I think it's hard drive is beginning to wear out. But don't want to shell out the bucks right now. Have a nice dental bill coming up

Nothing new on the TT front right now. The TT's are in stock now, but after having driven all over while up there, I enjoyed not having one hooked on my bumper and keep eyeing small MH's and also large vans. So am just sitting tight for now, till I know for sure what I want to do. It will be my last purchase probably, so want to do it right.

Well, just saying hi for now. Time to be off and running here. Have a wonderful day all even if it's raining. Keep safe if on the road.

We made it to Tampa yesterday afternoon and picked up my grandson. A 23' motorhome is really cramped for 2 people and a kid with all his stuff. We need to go through what he has and give some back to his mother. My son has to fly him home and last year he had to ship a box of his stuff home. His birthday is Thursday and they want to have a birthday party so we won't head back until Friday. Guess we will go to the beach later after a stop at a drug store. Jeremy already has a sunburn. I am thinking about renting a car. Everyplace is so crowded with little parking for a motorhome. We are staying at a KOA. My favorite place for $44 a night.

Guess I better get dressed so we can do something. I haven't been to any of the junk shops on the beach since my youngest traveled with me. He didn't miss many.

Morning from hot and dry Texas. We are going into a drought situation while the rest of the country drowns.

Yes, Sue - I dropped the cooler off. I figured you might get some use out of it and I couldn't take it on the airplane. And it wasn't that far out of my way when we were heading downstate. I'm sorry we didn't have more time together as well - but enjoyed the time we did have.

And I hear you on the beauty and serenity of the UP. I plan on going back some day and exploring some more. I talked to my co-worker from there yesterday and there was so much that I didn't have a chance to see.

Sis is in town this week so I will have a chance to have dinner with her and catch up with post-reunion stuff. We still have to deal with the financial aspect of all our communal dinners and I already know that it's going to be a disaster. Ugh! Maybe I will pass that part off on her.

Oh heavens, big fire up in our beautiful mountains...I've camped all over those mountains, and it is so sad to hear of structures burning. Wish that rain you all are having would come this way.
Nebraska has some very interesting places to camp. I stayed in the Nebraska National Forest once. Very interesting site.
Got to get into the kitchen and fix the food for tomorrows pot luck. We are all retired Water Safety Instructors and still meeting in our "senior years". lyn

good morning ladies
no student going to school today so here I am :D
We had another fire break out in AZ yesterday afternoon, little town of Kearney. Hope all goes well with putting it out as
I've been to Kearney many times and think its a lovely little old mining town. Little humidity today and hoping for some
rain but the weather forecast says not until thurs or fri.
Nothing else is going on, the girls have gone back to bed after their breakfast and Maggie got a walk.
Off to do some stuff, ya'll have a great day and be safe.

More likely auto correct, I have a love hate relationship with auto correct :D

It's another hot humid day here, I don't know how you stood working in your trailer yesterday Mitch I couldn't breathe outside. If it is as humid there be careful getting into those projects!
I'm still fighting the chiggers or whatever is biting here and having trouble sleeping because the bites seem to itch more at night. They said on one of the local TV stations the number one reason people are seeing the doctors right now are for bites.
Sue how were the mosquitoes in the UP. I keep thinking I would like to go to MI but reading where you are really having an especially buggy summer. I'm ready for winter or at least late fall!
Red sounds like you and your DH are enjoying your trip and not letting the weather stand in your way.
Irmi I'm so sorry to hear your parents are having such a hard time. Big hugs, I know it is hard it is on the caregiver. Those on the road on getting ready to go be safe and have fun!

Well, it's afternoon here (just barely!), but I've been wandering around online all morning. Guess I got lost!

Red, how bad is the humidity in Biloxi now? My niece was complaining about the heat/humidity here in mid-Michigan a few days ago, and she lived happily in Biloxi one summer. She says she thinks the ocean makes for a different experience. (Admittedly it was very muggy here in the Palm of the Mitten -- this was one huge swamp a few hundred years ago, and nobody lived here permanently. It took dumb Europeans to decide this was a place to settle, much less build the state capital.)

So glad you had a good time, Sue! Do I remember something about the place turning into condominiums in a year or two? Would that be a good fit for you? Especially if you're travelling a lot . . .

Everybody have a great day!

Some of those "fails" on damnyouautocorrect.com are so hysterical. I can only read them for about 10 minutes before i'm ready to bust a gut!
