New from Indiana

Postby jaguarbird11 » Wed Jul 03, 2013 10:34 pm

Hi! I'm Jody and i currently reside in Brown County, Indiana. I am an acrylic artist and decided on a whim a week ago that i wanted to travel the country and paint. I purchased a 01 GMC cargo truck and am in the process of converting it to a liveable space. Oh what fun! My motorhome buddies kinda roll their eyes at me but I can see how it will work for me. It gets me out on the road now instead of "sometime" down the road. I plan to workamp - camperforce in Kentucky for winter money. Will anyone else be there? I see some will be in NV. I have some fear about traveling single so any insight would be great. Travel well!

Hi Jody,

We have another member in Brown County, IN ... hopefully she'll see your post and jump in.

I workamped at Amazon in Campbellsville twice - took last year off from Amazon, but will be in Fernley this year.

She and her husband are good people. You're lucky to have them as friends :)

Welcome Jody! :D You're in the right place for advice, good times & great friends! You're never alone if you're on this forum--I was "new" to all this, & was welcomed by about a dozen ladies in all parts of the states on my first cross-country trip! Not to mention having several keeping tabs on me while I was in the middle of nowhere--NEVER alone!!! :D Happy camping 8-)

Welcome to the forum. You already have some knowledgable RV advisors close to home. :) Hope the conversion moves right along and you are out there seeing the country and finding good adventures.

Hi Jody, Never fear traveling alone. I was 16 years on the road as a fulltimer and never had a problem. You meet many wonderful people traveling this great country. I loved Brown County when I visited that area.

I now live in a condo and do short trips in a truck camper. lyn

Welcome Jody! I also decided very quickly to purchase an RV. I thought about it for a week or two and then just couldn't wait another minute and made a fast decision, which has turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life. And I travel alone, but do take my dog. I'm not a full-timer but am able to get away fairly often. I'm new to this group and it has been great!

Welcome from Texas! And I envy your spirit! I'm still tethered to my S&B and day job for a few more years.
