FIRST ONES RIPE TODAY!

Here are the first of this summer-----picked 5 minutes ago after I mowed some grass. Soon there will be tons ripe, but, as of now, you have to pick very selectively. (As you can see, I cheated a bit and picked some sorta ripe ones, too!) When the all ripen you can pick handfuls in a very short time. I believe I will make blueberry pancakes with this first batch.

These are wild blueberries covering tons of my property----I get addicted to picking!

I picked another pint tonight after I put all my shopping groceries away. I noticed those big, fat, plum-like and pulpy cultivated blueberries were selling for 4.99 per pint at Price Chopper this afternoon. Hmmmmm.....could I make enough moola to pay for my traveling gas, I wonder?! Nothing has the flavor of blueberries like these wild ones. Pancakes for breakfast for me and Orion tomorrow morning.
