We have had crappy weather up north also. It's been so wet, I think I'm starting to grow web feet. lol I have never been in a kayak, so it should be interesting. At least I will have my daughter to coach me a little. Butch will have to stay home the first few times I try it out.

My first time in a kayak, was a borrowed one on a beach while in Baja - it's what got me to buy one.

I love hearing stories of you ladies that are doing kayaking. I think it's an inspiration to everyone of us to get aup and give it a try. I've been checking into the inflatable kayaks for the last few weeks. I knew I wanted a kayak but I could never lift one like my daughter has. So these inflatable ones for me are the only way to go. I'm glad I just bit the bullet yesterday and ordered it. I love the water so I'm sure I will enjoy it. I had a paddleboat years ago that I used to take out on the lake by myself all the time. This kayak is just a new experience for me.

In the news tonight was the story of a lady kayaking alone in her inflatable. Good thing she had a cell phone with her. Something bit the kayak and it started sinking while two large gators inspected the menu. Rescuers got to her just as it sank.
Moral: don't use an inflatable boat in gator infested waters :D

A gator can turn over a regular kayak/canoe - got to be cautious.

Good Morning, I came home from fishing last night and UPS had delivered my kayak. Here it is inflated in my kitchen about midnight. I just had to try it out. It's HUGE, 12' long, but I'm glad I went with the big one. I don't know if I will have time to get it out to the lake this weekend, but I will go for sure next week. Besides, there are to many people around the lakes this weekend.

Now you folks have me wanting a kayak. I'm reading reviews now, looking like Sea Eagle is in my price range.
Are the seats comfortable ?

I don't have the sea eagle - mine is an Advanced Elements - but I augment the seat with a thin seat from Walmart - which I can use either as a seat or backrest.

I have the Sea Eagle seats....they are more comfortable than the hard bottom of a hard sided kayak :) Mine are not the real inexpensive white plastic looking seats but the white with I think blue around some of the edges. They have two air chambers. I also have the black taller backed seats that Tim sent me with the first Sea Eagle I ordered because he was temporarily out of the more comfortable white ones. He sentthem out free of charge and I got the other seats within a week. That is the sort of service you can get from Tim at Inflatableboats4less. Look at their website. He sell slightly under the coast of the actual sea eagle site and will answer any questions about the kayaks you want answered. Just send him off an e-mail. Good luck and have fun looking.....
