Good Morning everyone... coffee is on and hot... will share...
Long hard day yesterday... my daughter cannot help me pack... what a mess life is right now... whew!
I will look up and see the sun... at almost 74 years I know these times pass but the going through is dark!
Sorry for the doom and gloom...
Barbie I think with all the rain you are getting maybe you should get a kayak soon to get around...
May you all have a fun filled day

Good morning Kathleen & all that follow :D

Trying to catch up, as I was having such a good time with Irmi & Steve so didn't take time to read/post! :P Kathleen, hope the day gets brighter for you....

While I was away, there were major storms in the area causing flooding. Fortunately, no problems at my place. More rain is expected later today, so need to get out & mow despite the wetness still on/in the grass. I also--as CArol did--will have to set the deck pretty high, then go over it a second time a little lower--if I have time before more rain!

Ava, glad you're home safely! Hope your little pooper recovers... Sharon, so great to see you back on the forum & hope you have a safe trip! Others, don't recall all that's happening--I'm still out of sync after being gone for only a week...

Must get going, so y'all have a great day! 8-)

Good morning everyone and it is another wonderful cloudy cool morning here! We are having record lows and probably record rain here, just the opposite of last summers drought and record temps. I'm loving the cool!!!
Kathleen I'm so sorry things aren't going well for you right now, I hope you can get some help soon. ((((HUGS))) Carolb I hope you can get your lawn mowed before more rain comes. I know you must be missing Irmi and Steve.
I had a surprise visit from a friend from FL yesterday. She is Andy's favorite person and regardless of how many years goes by without him seeing her, he goes absolutely nuts when she comes. I learned not to tell him ahead of time that his Auntie Elayne is coming or he sits by the door and cries till she gets here. She is on her way to Austin to work as a nurse at a summer camp for 3 weeks, good $$ but fairly long hours.
I'm off to enjoy this cool day before the summer weather returns and I'm stuck inside.

Good Morning Everyone !!!!

Kathleen, I am so sorry things are going on that are so upsetting to you. Think at our age, we don't care for to many changes of any kind, do we??? I have no one close to help me with the changes I feel I should make in my life and you have help that doesn't do things to suit you. Not sure which of us is worse off :o  Guess we both will just struggle on to reach the goal we know is right for us, sometimes not to happily I have to admit. Hang in there, it will all turn out right in the end, so no need for either of us to worry or fret over it to much. Right????? Hope today has happier times in it, I look for them each day. Today the happiest thing for me, is I am finally going to get my hair fixed !!!! LOL, sounds like a minor thing, but when I look in the mirror, know it will make me much happier !!!!

Other then errands and hair appointment, the bigger news is we are in a flood warning time here. I'm wondering this morning if I should even venture out today, but it sounds like the real hard rains that will last until late Friday aren't due until later in afternoon. (I hope) I'm watching weather reports though.

Need to get moving. Many things to do today, before I'm rained in. One thing, RV is ready if I have to leave quickly, except turning frig on. Many states are involved in this hard rain through the 4th, take care and pay attention to what is going on around you. A lot of us will miss the fireworks displays,(they're cancelled) and not to nice a day to fly our flags either, but we can all appreciate what the day symbolizes, the freedoms we enjoy.

Those on the road traveling , stay safe and don't come east !! Praying for rain for those out west, especially in Az.

Have a nice day, whatever you do,
CArol :)

Good Morning All, Sorry to hear about the sad happenings in several of your lives today. Wish I was closer to each of you to help in some way. However, that is not to be. Knowing things will get better for each of you and hugs to all.

I'm very busy with the daughter and son-in-law still here. Tomorrow a big party at the home of the grandson and his wife. The parents of my great-grand daughter! Fireworks on the bay tomorrow night. Hope the fog does not roll in?!?!?! I will stay home with the dog and cat and cuddle them so they won't become too frightened.

I'm thankful to live in this free country. lyn

good morning ladies
finally, the cooler is fixed entirely and we had a good nights sleep. The girls are still sleeping in :o will have to get them
up soon so they can get their breakfast and I hustle out to the vet with Pixie. Need to make a run into work today to check
in and get info I need for Mondays work. Daughter has already called this morning wanting my help later in the day. Seems
like its going to be a pretty full day for me.
Funny thing last evening.....my phone was making a weird noise and I look at it and I had a dust storm alert. I didn't know
it would do that and then about an hour later it did it again. Told my son to hurry up on that roof as the storm was on its
way. Don't know if the storm ever rolled through our neighborhood as about that time he was done and I was able to get
to bed.
Its about time to get the girls up and get started on my day. Ya'll have a good one, be safe and be comfortable.

Feeling far more cheerful this morning because the bamboo curtain parted long enough for a short chat with Sister #2. She reports that her Nordic walking sticks are much admired in China, so she plans to leave hers there for a friend. Also had a nice long chat yesterday with one of the kids who is interning in Boston this summer. :D

Heading to Oscoda on the 5th to spend a week with Sister #1. I'm taking the van -- I might not need all my camping gear, but we stripped that flooded cottage to the studs, and I don't know what she's replaced yet. Staying home for the 4th because William has started to be afraid of fireworks. He's 15 this year, and I guess he's just too old for the noise.

Everybody have a happy 4th!

Good Morning.
Not good at typing on this iPad so will be brief.
Big hugs to those struggling with life issues today.
Kathleen - Since you are packing does that mean your new home will be ready sooner than you had expected?
sadly Mitch pulled out about 8. This morning, will miss her.
Foegot to mention that while in town yesterday, we found the neatest little LED pen flashlights for $10.00, 60lumens, very bright. Sandy also found a real bargain on MiiFii card.
Both Mitch & sandy got tick bites. Watching these closely.
Off to more adventures. Some new photos were added to KY gtg yesterday and we have a few more to add later.
Have a great day

Kathleen, sorry you are having problems. There are things I don't want help with because the help has opinions. ;) When I decide to do something I don't want opinions. But there are some things we just can't do and need help.

Ava, glad you finally got some cool air. I don't know how people live in the temperatures they are having in the West. The year my DH broke his leg he got a neighbor to put one of the small air conditioners in the bedroom window. We had central air but he was afraid it might go out. We didn't have air conditioning growing up. I don't know how we made it.

The slow moving rain is suppose to get here Saturday. I hope there isn't any flooding East of here when we head out on Sunday. I hate to have to drive in the rain. I need to check the windshield wipers, it has been several years since they were changed. So many things to do to get ready for a trip.

Good morning friends. I have read but havent been here in awhile, so catching up. First of all, WELCOME to all the new people! SO much going on with us all. Sue, did you get the trailer yet? I tried to go back thu the posts to see. I was invited to the KY gtg, but am dealing with a lot in my life now. Change is hard , even when the changes are good! Does that even make sense? I am staying in town in my house for a few days, instead of going back to where my friend is camp hosting, to do something with kids and gkids. And to get a few things done around here. Spent yesterday with plumbers! Bank account is smaller now! Am beginning to think those of you without houses( without wheels) are onto something the rest of us don't know! Its supposed to be really rainy at least tomorrow and Fri, so don't know if me and the kids are going to be able to swim in the pool or go up to the lake. I hope the weatherman is wrong! Ya'll have a FUN and a SAFE day and 4th. Wendy

It's been raining here in the Adirondacks ever since I got back here last month, but for about two days, not including nights on those days. I am REALLY getting more than annoyed by this weather. My rain gauge showed we have gotten 3.5 inches of rain since yesterday at this time. Today is hot (for here---83) with 77% humidity, and seems oppressive. And then there's the sporadic deluges of rain and thunder. All in all, amazingly depressing. And dangerous flooding for those living in the valleys.

Tonight will be goulash night, which I am putting together right now. What tomorrow will bring, other than more rain, remains to be seen.

Wish I could help you pack, Kath, but I, too, am working on de-cluttering and tossing and saving and stashing and dumping....how I hate it.

Hugs to Pixie.

Wendy---we need an update on your life!!!

If I don't get on here tomorrow, I wish you all a happy Fourth celebration, wherever you may be.

Kathleen, I hope things turn around for you soon! ((hugs))
No rain here for the past week or so! Yay! We finally got out from under that literal dark cloud of torrential rains and storms every day for weeks on end. That is what Soos and others of you are dealing with now unfortunately. Very depressing. Was getting cabin fever all over again! Everyone was crabby too.
Whether emotional, physical or actual dark clouds are over you right now, remember, this too shall pass, and the sun will shine again! :D

Ava, when you get a dust storm, isn't there an obvious layer of dust all over everything afterward? I imagine that would get into every little nook and cranny, too.

Did Mitch and Sandy actually see and remove the ticks? If they were normal sized ticks, they should be OK unless the heads got left behind (the ticks) and might cause an infection. Deer ticks are teensy tiny things and they should be looking for a ring around the bite site.

Worked all day and was very busy! Made good tips so I can pay my rent now.

Last night I bought a pair of new glasses on line. I usually get them from 39dollarglasses.com but I didn't see anything I liked on there this time, so I ordered a pair from Zenni. Can't wait to get them! They are rimless but have some bling on the sides.

No plans for the 4th yet. May just end up cleaning house and doing laundry (what I should have done yesterday! ) I would like to go see some fireworks but the thought of getting one more mosquito bite makes me want to stay inside for the rest of the summer! (Have too many to count from my camping trip last week!)
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
