Baker Park camping trip...

Postby BarbaraRose » Mon Jul 01, 2013 10:35 pm

Well, I had a nice long story about my camping trip written on here, but it all went "poof" and was gone, so I will just try to post some photos instead. I know from past experience that if I try to post more than 4 pics at a time, photobucket locks up on me and I lose the whole thing, so I will just do 4 at a time...

These are pics of my picnic area, and tent and porch, apart and together...

Nice place! I stayed there for three days last July while I was visiting relatives in Minneapolis. I remember it being grassy and with sites well spread out.

You really need to try to resize your pictures - I'm on fast speed here - and they took a few seconds to upload. Would NOT want to upload this post using my phone. But they are nice!!! And PB might not freeze on you if they were smaller - is probably your internet and PB doing it because of their size.

Thanks Beth, I have more photos to share but got froze up last night again. I will try the others in a smaller size and see what happens. They used to offer small, medium, large, etc. but it is just numbers now and that confuses me as I am not sure what numbers I should change them to.

So glad that you a chance to get away and camp. Looks like folks really like to get out on the waters there. Keep the spirit alive.....you will have wheels yet.....down the road! :)

You really know how to set up a camping site, it all looks really nice and comfortable. So glad you were finally able to get out and have a relaxing time, on the water no less. Just looking at the water has a very calming effect on me, hoping it helped in your coming back to reality. I'm so sorry your Dad is having such problems. been there, done that, hang in there, you will never regret it.

This tent does seem a better size for sleeping and the screen room gives you the living place, I love it. I'm just to lazy to set it up at this stage of my life   Hope this is just the beginning of your get a way times this summer.

I've given up on trying to figure out how to post pictures anywhere but Facebook. I enjoyed seeing these pictures and it struck me out how you ladies seem to dress up your campsites beyond the utilitarian. The little fences and flowers give the tent such a cozy look. Soos puts real flowers in pots around her site as well as solar lights. Donna has a cute little pole from which she hangs her WRV flamingo flag. Following their example, I now have solar lights and pretty table cloths for the next time I can get on the road. M.H. Rachael (name spelling change) is still in the shop waiting for parts to get started on repairs to the storage and electrical system. 8-Dell

Barbie, what a beautiful camp! You even brought a picket fence and flowers! And did I see a string of little lights, too?

The lake is gorgeous. I'd probably have sat and watched the waves, letting the water wash my mind empty.

I'm so glad you had a good weekend. I hope you get out there a lot more this summer.

I have a string of battery operated lights that look like mini coleman lanterns that I hang around the door of the tent. I also have solar lights that I stick at the corners of the tent, partly to keep from tripping over the stakes and partly to help me find my tent at night when I come back from the bathrooms.

One of my customers asked me if I was going "camping" or "glamping". At first I said "camping" but then I remembered I had the little fences and flowers and decided it was probably more "glamping" (glamour camping, for those who don't know).

It was nice to get away for a couple days from my real life, even if it was only 8 miles a way.

Personally, I believe in resizing on my computer, not on PB - would allow you to upload lots faster, too. But if on PB, for the resize options put in 640 X 480 for pictures for boards like this. (It will keep the right proportions, adjusting for you - or it should).

Great pictures Barbie thanks! I loved your set up, good looking tent and screened area. All your accessories especially the little fence were way cute!

So, I've been wondering too, how does one resize pictures, some are too small to see so I like the bigger ones and they don't seem to be a problem loading on my computer, but didn't think about a phone...
