Work Monday

Postby grammynmaggie » Mon Jul 01, 2013 8:06 am

Good morning all...looks like I am here first....hand to take
a break...been up and work on sorting the stuff we took out of the attic...for about 3 hrs and I feel tired already....even tho I don't have the stuff downstairs priced yet
I needed to go thru and do this first so I can get as much as I need out
to the curb this Thru. so I don't have to big of a mess sitting around to
look at...what I will have to look at for the moving sale is bad enough..
so that will be my day today and for some days to come...I have to get
this done...I keep telling myself...have a great day and stay safe...donna ;)

Happy day Donna and all that follow! Hot hot hot here in SoCal and I'm trying to get out of town. Hasn't been easy, lots of bad
jou-jou here for the past 3 months but things are looking up a bit. Didn't really think I was going to get to make a trip this summer but looks like I get to go and I'm only a plane ride away from home if necessary. Thank goodness for the boy chick in Arkansas and the full HU's he put in for me. And his willingness to babysit Hope and the furry ones. Must finish hooking up and say my goodbyes. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth all of the work! Then I get behind that wheel......oh yeah! It's worth it!

Try and stay cool, stay out of trouble, wheels down, head up and eyes forward!

China has blocked Facebook for a long time, and now they've blocked Google chat too. Very annoying, when my sister is in Harbin until late August. Guess I'll have to install Skype -- I think they still let that one through. Phooey on them, that's what I say!

Ok, enough grumpiness. It's pleasantly cool here today, and I'm going out to work on the van.

Sharon, good luck getting on the road and safe trip. I know what you mean about getting ready. No matter how ready I think I am I still make 50 trips loading up before I pull out. Right now I am trying to unload everything I can for the trip to Florida. Looks like I am going to miss you on your trip East unless I run into you and Karen on my way back. I don't know yet when we are starting back.

Hope our cool weather hangs around for you. It's only 93 instead of 103.

Can't believe so few have posted. It is partly cloudy and cool here on the mountain overlooking Colorado Springs. Last night, I could see the city sparkling below, but very quiet and peaceful up here. I love the views from this place--highly recommend Cheyenne Mountain State Park! (Paved spots and full hookups, but well separated)

Drove over Monarch Pass yesterday from Taylor Reservoir. It was almost a 200 miles trip, through narrow valleys along mountain rivers and along wider valleys, and finally through high mountains with a bit of snow still showing. All of that does make the drive more than a little stressful, but the spectacular scenery was well worth it.

I'll be here another couple of nights and then on to Denver. Got to update my blog and plan on going for a long bike ride today to explore all the bike trails through this place. Hope they are not rocky because I worry about falling on rough terrain. Then tomorrow will be laundry day--three washers and three dryers here. Also, I bought a luggage carrier to haul my laundry since I had so much trouble last time.

Sounds like a lot of people are on the road or getting ready to leave. Good travels, all.

Got on the road early today to drive to Massachusetts, but there was no way to avoid the rain. Drove through heavy downpours almost all the way. I have stopped for 2 nights at a state park before going on to the cg where I reserved a site for the month of July, starting on the 3rd. It's not raining at the moment but is very hot and humid with swarming Mosquitos.more rain is expected tonight and tomorrow. Don't know if I'll get to take advantage of the lake and hiking trails or not.

Starting Wed. I will be at a cg near my sister's home, so we should be able to have many nice visits this month. Will also have some time to explore eastern MA a little.

Sharon, glad you are able to get on the road. Hope you have a safe and fun trip.

good morning ladies,
struggling with this heat at the moment, did not sleep well at all last night. Little bit of drama on the homefront while
I was gone.....one of the workers (the one that lives in the back porch laundryroom) he got fired cause he wasn't doing
his job. Son trying to get the new swamp cooler installed before I got home, and it didn't get done. They are getting it
ready to haul it up to the roof at this very moment. Soon as they get the winch attached to the roof it should be good
to go and just maybe tonight I'll get a comfortable nights sleep. I did get the iceman out and put ice in it so the dogs
had a cool comfy spot to lay when they got overheated. It also works pretty nice when I lay it in my lap to cool off or
across my backside.
Finished unloading my car this morning, and doing up my dirty laundry today. Thats about all I'm doing today. I'm sure
there is a nap in my schedule sometime today as I lay in front of the fan and try to cool off. Pixie is doing better, and
I feel so guilty for leaving her, I had no idea she would miss me so much that she wouldn't eat good. I can already see
the difference in her weight now that she's had two good days mommy meals in her belly. Although her hips
and her shoulders still look too lean her ribs don't show today.
Her cancer spot looks much better and actually doesn't even show other than being a little
red. Have a vet appt set up for early in the morning on Wednesday for her.
Thats about it from me for today, ya'll have a good day, be safe and hoping you have good weather where you are.

I won't even say what the temp is here at noon but will say it may be a record low. This time last year we were having record heat. Ava I can't even imagine how you are coping with no A/C or swamp cooler. They should have let you know so you could have stayed away another day. Sure hope they get it in today but that must be brutal work on a roof!! Sharon glad to hear you are heading out, have a safe trip. Havingfunnow, you will love Skype much better than calls or emails. Liz hope the weather improves.

It certainly isn't morning here, but hello to everyone anyway. Title for today is appropriate. Weather report predicts rain for most of the week and my yard was awful, I just didn't feel like doing it Saturday, then Sunday evening when I heard news I wondered when I would get it mowed. It was first job on the agenda for today, grass was wet so had to rig the mower where the grass could freely fly out, well, guess where most flew too  After that job, shower and washing hair was a must. Then I went back out and swept grass from steps and ramp and tied one of my tomato plants up. Found I have several tomatoes just starting, so exciting, haven't planted anything for years. Have a couple of tomato plants and also bell pepper. In big pots, to lazy to work the ground.

Storm will be here soon, and probably be a doozy, so thought I would check in and see what others are doing today. Seems most are to busy to post, wishing you good luck getting all done you are trying to, Donna. Sharon, have I missed something,? are you ill or what, or am I just being to nosey, sorry about that, but was very concerned after reading your post. Judy, I was riding up and over the Pass with you. I think that is a beautiful drive. I came home that way from Grand Junction last fall. I need to get with you and find out where this park is that you're in now, it sounds wonderful. Ava, have been so concerned about you today, with the tragedy and the loss of so many lives, have been wondering how close that fire is to you. What a horrible thing to happen !!! Can't get it out of my mind !!!!! So many hurting people out there.

Well, better get off of here and do some chores inside, all the things, I really don't want to do :(   I'm never going to catch up on all the news of everyone, have about gave up. Spent a couple of hrs. on yesterday afternoon and found there is just no way. Hope all are well, safe and no real problems encountered by anyone of you.

it would have been awesome to stay longer, however I had to leave enough funds in my account to pay the upcoming
bills for July. Insurance comes out any day and then there is cell phone and internet bill. I do go back to work next
week and then there will be a paycheck coming from that. :D

that fire is a good hour or more from here. Its up in the Prescott Valley area, north and west of me here in Phoenix.
But it reminds me of the Storm King Mountain fire back in 94 near Glenwood Springs. There were 14 fireman that
perished in that one.

It is actually perfect weather here finally! 82 and mostly sunny, breezy. Supposed to be that way all week! No rain in the forecast for once! Now we can dry out a little bit here.
Just read about the 19 firefighters who died in the fires in Arizona. So tragic!

Went into work this morning and then got a call from the nursing home. My dad's feeding tube fell out so I had to go get him and take him down to the hospital to get another one put in. I can't understand how they think he can go home and take care of himself with that thing in him!

Have the rest of today and tomorrow off. Still have to unload my car from my camping trip, do laundry and clean house. Also playing golf in a few hours. I will also try to get the pics from my trip posted soon.

Sharon, I haven't seen you on here for quite awhile. Was wondering what happened to you. Still wondering...:? Where are you headed for the summer?

I forgot to say "Rabbits" this morning! :(
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Hi Sharon. I was wondering where you had gone. So glad to see your post. Don't know what's been going on but I hope things are OK. Where are you heading?
