good morning ladies,
ahhhhhh relaxation, ain't it grand
landed in Showlow AZ yesterday about noon, after stopping at a few places on the way to explore and take
pictures. I left Grants NM and headed south on state 53, if you look on the map it shows El Malpais National
park. I never knew it existed let alone that NM actually had some pretty landscape other than red bare rocky
stuff as you see off I 40. You know I love landscape that makes me smile. Will make a post on El Malpais
as well as a place call El Morro which was a little farther down and passed by Bandero Volcano and Ice Caves.
Wanted to stop there but it was closed. But its definately on my list. Pictures will be posted as well.
So.....not going home to the hottest day on record and have booked another night here in Showlow. Then daughter
called and said "stay there mom, its too hot down here and I'll pay for another night"
![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
Guess I'll go home Sunday
morning.
Visited with my friends Mickey and Ginny up here and took a cruise through Fools Hollow Lake State Park. Pictures
there too. Spoke with the couple at the entrance who workkamp there and we chatted about womenrv as well. She
said rvwomen had a loop reserved for next month? or next week, can't remember. She wanted to know if it was me
and of course "no" and thats how the womenrv topic came up. She wrote it down and gonna check it out. Also visited
with my friend Lyn and her husband. All these folks I know from work and they have vacation homes up here as well
as two others I know but don't know how to get a hold of them. Ginny said she'd send Gene an email and see if he's
up here too during these hottest days of the year. Will see him too if he's around. Ahhhh, vacation is good.
So, I'm hold up in Days Inn, it was not my first choice as the other one was booked up and turns out I wouldn't have
been happy to be booked in to a motel filled with a bus load of teenages on some outing. Turns out the Days Inn is
a family owned and operated place since 1942 and kept in VERY GOOD condition. I'm impressed and its filled with
lots of work crew from fire crews and highway crews. So no noisy parties last night and hopefully the next couple
nights will be just as quiet.
Well, off to put my posts together and do a little catching up. The wifi is good here.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.
