Friday with friends

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday with friends

Postby carolb » Fri Jun 28, 2013 5:04 am

Good morning all! :D

Yes, waking up this morning at Irmi & Steve's. Oh, the great FRIENDS one meets through this forum!!! :P I'm parked in their lovely country yard, enjoyed an evening on the sweet front porch of their country home, & dined on their sunroom with a beautiful view of their vast backyard. Today, I get a tour of the area, meet Irmi's dear parents, & then more hanging out at their home!

PA gtg was great, & still going on! I looked at the pix this morning, & what a great group!!! Now Lori, one pic of me dumping would have been enough   Hey Tina, maybe that was you in the kayak I saw about 5 miles down the road LOL Pretty swift waters, eh??? Wow, it was just an overall GREAT time for me.

Sarah! How fun to have an "unexpected" trip ahead of you! Did you say where you were going???? I love how you've become so adventurous & comfortable with Magic!!! You were so funny at the FL gtg, asking "don't know why I ever got this thing?" Much better to have your own than to be in a cabin or RVing with others, right???!!! 8-)

Okay, done babbling for this a.m. Sunrise is beautiful this morning, hope the same wherever you are. Y'all have a great day! :P

Good morning Carolb & everyone!

We had a great time at the GTG in PA put together by Lori & Ernie. It so nice seeing everyone again and the meals were delicious. We left Ferryboat about 11:00 yesterday morning and arrived at our house in MD mid afternoon. Carol follwed us home and is parked under a shade tree in our backyard. This morning I want to take her around the area and one of the stops will be where I workout. Hopefully we'll be able to get some steamed crabs and introduce Carol on opening and picking the crabmeat. I must get myself ready to start the day, so have a good day everyone!

Good morning, Carolb, Irmi, and all those who follow.....

Glad to hear that Irmi, Steve, Carolb, and all the pups made it home to MD safe and sound.....sounds like you are all relaxing and enjoying more visiting...

The rain forced us all to fend for ourselves at supper time last night....but it did let up so we could sit in the pavilion in the evening to chat and enjoy a glass or 2 of wine...Gayle arrived before dark and got all set up for the weekend...Didn't take any pictures, but will try to make up for it today....

Nothing planned for breakfast today, but will go out a little later with my coffee to see if anyone else is up and around... ;) Then we'll make plans for supper...

Would love for today's rain to hold off until tonight....keep your collective fingers cross that it does...

Okay, will stop for now...

Have a great day, all...

I'll cross my fingers with you Lori that the rain holds off until tonight. Glad to hear Irmi, Steve and Carolb had a safe trip to their home, want to adopt one more Irmi ?
It looks like rain is coming in this morning here and thankfully the temperature is going to drop to the high seventies for the weekend!!! Ava I saw the excessive heat warnings for AZ can you delay going home for a few days. They are predicting temps higher than ever recorded on earth in parts of CA, AZ and Nevada ACK Anyone else in those areas take care!

good morning ladies,
ahhhhhh relaxation, ain't it grand :D
landed in Showlow AZ yesterday about noon, after stopping at a few places on the way to explore and take
pictures. I left Grants NM and headed south on state 53, if you look on the map it shows El Malpais National
park. I never knew it existed let alone that NM actually had some pretty landscape other than red bare rocky
stuff as you see off I 40. You know I love landscape that makes me smile. Will make a post on El Malpais
as well as a place call El Morro which was a little farther down and passed by Bandero Volcano and Ice Caves.
Wanted to stop there but it was closed. But its definately on my list. Pictures will be posted as well. :D
So.....not going home to the hottest day on record and have booked another night here in Showlow. Then daughter
called and said "stay there mom, its too hot down here and I'll pay for another night" :D Guess I'll go home Sunday
morning.
Visited with my friends Mickey and Ginny up here and took a cruise through Fools Hollow Lake State Park. Pictures
there too. Spoke with the couple at the entrance who workkamp there and we chatted about womenrv as well. She
said rvwomen had a loop reserved for next month? or next week, can't remember. She wanted to know if it was me
and of course "no" and thats how the womenrv topic came up. She wrote it down and gonna check it out. Also visited
with my friend Lyn and her husband. All these folks I know from work and they have vacation homes up here as well
as two others I know but don't know how to get a hold of them. Ginny said she'd send Gene an email and see if he's
up here too during these hottest days of the year. Will see him too if he's around. Ahhhh, vacation is good.
So, I'm hold up in Days Inn, it was not my first choice as the other one was booked up and turns out I wouldn't have
been happy to be booked in to a motel filled with a bus load of teenages on some outing. Turns out the Days Inn is
a family owned and operated place since 1942 and kept in VERY GOOD condition. I'm impressed and its filled with
lots of work crew from fire crews and highway crews. So no noisy parties last night and hopefully the next couple
nights will be just as quiet.
Well, off to put my posts together and do a little catching up. The wifi is good here. :D
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good Morning
Heat has been oppressive here past couple of days - index above 100!!! Potential for severe thunderstorms this afternoon so no getting Magic loaded. Fortunately the forecast for next week is a much needed cool down otherwise I would not attempt this upcoming trip to KY.

Carolb - you are right, when I saw you in Fl wasn't sure if I had made a really big mistake in getting my first RV at my age (a 70th birthday present to myself). Thanks to all the help and encouragement I received from these wonderful forum ladies I've gotten over that - looks like Magic is a keeper.

Stay safe and have a good day. I've got to get moving if I'm going to be able to leave here Sunday morning.

It's hot here too. Yesterday the outside thermometer said 103. Our house cats want out but in about 10 minutes they are ready to come back in. It doesn't take me that long. Supposedly we have a cool front coming in Sunday or Monday. It's suppose to be in the low 90's. Some cool front.

Would so like to be at the PA gtg. Looks like everyone is having a good time. I won't be doing any trips except to go get my grandson until the end of August when he goes home. Would take him camping but he really isn't into it. About the most we will get him to do is go to a waterpark.

I need to go to town but have put it off all week. Now it's down to today or Saturday when everyone will be out. It's not looking good for today. lol

It's just a few minutes after noon, mountain time, here in Colorado. Fairly cool here at 9,600 feet with nights dropping almost to 32, so furnace at night and AC during day. Almost entirely sunny for past 4 days, but some clouds now and a rain shower last night. More rain expected today and tomorrow later.

I slept in again this morning which really feels good. Lakeview Campground near Taylor Reservoir in Gunnison Natl Forest is great place to come for peace and quiet and postcard views. I can see snow-capped mountains and a large meadow-valley with a reservoir. What more can you want?? There are electric and non-electric sites here, and since it is national forest, 50% off for us seniors. Water is available, but you have to drive 3.5 to dump. No showers, either.

Had my cousin and his wife and another camper over for dinner last night, which is rare for me. Also visited Crested Butte yesterday, which was a 75 miles round trip capped by a cow-jam on the road coming back. Each cow had a calf following close, so it was cute, but hard to drive past a herd of maybe 80 cows meandering at cow-speed. Had to wait until they moved off into the woods.

New semester begins, so I have some work to do to get materials ready, so today will be a lazy work day. It's also the start of the weekend, so lots of people watching to do.
