There is at least one and maybe more Aliner groups on Yahoo. I read one that started out as an Aliner group and has turned into a women only rv group. I have never had an Aliner but most of the women that post have traded for something else. I think there has been problems with leaks and problems setting them up, especially in a wind. Do a lot of research before you buy one. Does VW still sell van campers in the US? I read a lot on line about RV's and I don't remember seeing anyone that has one.

Two women I know have had Chalet's, very similar to aliners. Both would not recommend aliner, but loved their chalets. That said, research and you could find the right aliner. I own a rig many say they wouldn't buy from this manufacturer, so again, don't let it stop you, but you might want to take it into consideration.

I started traveling alone 6 yrs ago. I rented a class c twice and when it came time to buy I thought I could get more bang for my buck with a pull behind. My hubby had the idea that I'd be more secure in a "one piece" camper. So we bought a 98 Georgia boy class c. And as hard as it is for me to type this, he was so so right. First of all, 30,000miles I can park it on a dime. Secondly when I drive into a place, anyplace, no one knows if I have a big strong man in the back, anonymity #1. Thirdly, if you realize you are in a creepy situation all you have to do is slip into the driver seat and pull away. I was parked at a casino in OR and some kind of deal was going down right next to me at 2am (2 panel vans back to back). I came off the bunk into the driver seat and drove away. Can't do that in a pull behind. I recommend buying the best rv that you can afford. Again, I just put a gazillion miles on a 98. I highly recommend anything with a "Triton V-10" engine.
