Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday early?

Postby carolb » Sun Jun 23, 2013 4:58 am

Good morning all! :D

LOL, I did it again! Read posts yesterday morning, took time to welcome a few new members, then totally forgot to post  Been awake since 3 a.m., so decided it was time to "open" MC!

Well, prayers for your daughter, Kathleen. Such wonderful news about the wedding though! Loved seeing Liz on top of her rig!!! Bet the Adirondacks are beautiful this morning! It's a great morning down here in the valley, which is probably why I couldn't get back to sleep. So peaceful hearing the birds, & a balmy 73 degrees :D

PA GTG--yahoo! Some maybe even arriving there today? Wishing safe travels to those on their way. Can't wait to see those of you who'll be there!

Off for more coffee & out to the yard to enjoy this perfect morning! Hope y'all have a great day!

Good Morning
Carol, I've been up since about 4:00 AM, unusual for me. Maybe it is the super moon disrupting our sleep?

Really bummed that my plans to spend the weekend in Magic, even if not going anywhere, didn't work out. Something strange going on with the electrical/convertor system. Breaker apparently tripped sometime last week but the things that have alerted me to that in the past didn't happen this time so I did not catch it and it took me a while to figure out what was going on. Anyway, the house batteries were down to 50% charge and many things (some lights, A/C, plugs, awning, etc) would not work. The breaker refused to reset so I ran the engine for about 2 hours trying to recharge house batteries. Went back thru all my near useless manuals without getting any smarter about the situation. Finally around 6:00 PM, I was able to get the breaker reset - still don't know why it finally caught. Will go back to campground later today to see if still working.

On the brighter side, Magic got a much needed bath and roof treatment Saturday morning. Wanted to get her waxed but guys doing the work convinced me she really didn't need it. BTW: If any of you happen to be by this way on a weekend, these guys are good and very reasonable should you want your rig cleaned. Magic does look brand new from the outside. Also put seat covers on cab chairs. Not very happy with the fit but should help protect seats from Nicky and so much dog hair.

Where did you see Liz on roof?

I'm behind on welcoming new members but here's a blanket "glad you found us and look forward to meeting you". A reminder to take advantage of the Member map (first thread in the General section).

Safe travels to all.

Good morning, all....Sunny and pleasant here right now....Humidity and heat to be up later today....but not going to let it get in the way of getting the 5er ready to head north tomorrow....And, of course, last day of having to deal with the slow and iffy internet connection...So will wait to catch up with everyone when we get to Ferryboat CG and make this short so it will post.....Can't wait to see everyone and enjoy the fun, food, and friendship.. ;)

Have a great day, all...

Good morning early birds & all who follow,

I'm still catching up on all the activity here.

Been super busy at work & here at the house. 'Big trash' pickup had me hustling to get everything out to the curb by 7 am yesterday. I love the 'recycling' that goes on - most stuff is picked up by folks trolling the streets with pickup trucks leaving only the real 'trash' for the city to get.

Shattered my cell a couple of weeks ago & finally got a replacement, then got new stereo installed in the travelin' van yesterday. Installer helped to sync up phone to system so I am ready to roll as soon as DD gets an apartment lined up in San Diego. So proud of her - she got a job within 10 days of arriving in sunny CA! Hopefully I'm be heading out that way later this week. I just need to finish de-winterizing the water systems today & I'm set.

Sounds like there'll be lots of fun at the PA GTG. Looking forward to attending virtually - via all the pics & posts. :D

Well, I'd better get moving while its still cool enough outside to get some work done. Safe travels to everyone on the road...

Good Morning all,

Just a quick post before Maggie and I head out to start the day's adventures. On tap for this morning is a trip down to Hartwick Pines State Park to go through the logging camp and learn about the history of the early logging days in Michigan. Then this afternoon I think we will pack a little lunch and I will take her a bit north to see some of the country up that way.

She arrived safely yesterday, late afternoon and I made some hobo dinners for us for supper on the grill and we spent the evening chatting about this and that and whatever, watched a movie on TV and then hit the sack.

Sarah, sorry to hear about your electrical issues in Magic. Makes me wonder is there is something in the campgrounds electrical system causing it. Maybe you need a surge protector on the electrical box outside.

Well, we are off and running, so will check in later. Have a great day all.

Here's a morning wake-up celebration with drums and dancing, from yesterday's Juneteenth event at the John Brown Farm State Historic Site. Click on the picture for video.

Soos joined right in with the drummers.

She sure has picked some interesting places to visit. Hope she's enjoying them as much as I am.

Had some rain last night, but starting out nice today. See you later.

Good morning all. Love those drummers. Always gets you blood flowing  I went outside and watched the moon a little last night. There was a beautiful breeze and a magnificent moon. It'll be even bigger and brighter tonight. :P Today is sunny, bright blue skies and Hot and HUMID. Love the excitement for the PA gtg. So looking forward to the pictures. Yesterday, I struggled with, but successfully assembled my new cargo carrier that fits in the hitch receiver on the back of RED. All this so I can take my folding trike with me. Even folded up, the trike does not fit in any of the cargo bays. So it gets to ride on the back of RED. I continue to get RED packed and ready for this trip, leaving next weekend. DH is off to a sporting clay event and I am off to the outlet mall. Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha y'all.

good morning ladies
Image
a bit cooler than I'm used to this morning, 55 makes my muscles and bones ache so after a quick visit with the
backyard squirrel I'm back in the house. This looks like a good day for me to get a trip over to Barr Lake and
do a nice walk around the nature trail. My friend is up already, and she did it all on her own. She's usually good
for about two hours and then crawls back into the bed. This really hasn't been what I would call a "fun" vacation
but the need for my help has been great and hopefully this week I can get a few museum trips in before I head
back for home.
Ya'll enjoy your day and be safe.

Good Morning! The weather is fine and the coffee is good. I hope we have the chance to see the Super Moon tonight but it seems that we’ve been cloudy every evening lately, which if fine because those clouds have been sending us much needed rain. After two years our lawn is finally GREEN. Granted a lot of the green is weeds, but it sure as heck beats the Round-Up killed lawn we had two years ago or the drought burned lawn of last summer.

Ava, I was so hoping that you would enjoy a fun carefree vacation. You are a super friend and I certainly hope she appreciates everything you are doing for her.

Liz and Soos I so enjoy your pictures, but I really want to see the inside of the cabin! All I can think of when I see that picture is “On Golden Pond” It looks so serene. Is that pond the one you swim in Soos?

I too am looking forward to pictures of the PA GTG. I continue to live vicariously through the rest of you while I still have to go to that four letter word.

I having mixed feelings about our annual 4th camping trip this year. Friday we were informed that our friend’s 30 year old son is without a job and will be joining us. To put it bluntly he is a lazy little SOB and lost his job because he can’t get out of bed in the morning and was late for work too many times or just didn’t show up. He has two children with two different mothers both of which were one night stands and constantly whines about the child support that he has to pay, yet always seems to have money for everything except basic needs such as food and rent. I have a gut feeling that if I have to listen to him complain and watch him mooch off the rest of us for a week, I may blow up and give him a piece of my mind and possibly destroy a friendship with his mother. His stepfather would probably cheer me on and give a high five. His irresponsible behavior along with that of his two siblings from their mom’s first marriage are already causing trouble with their marriage.

Well that’s enough of my rant. Hope everyone has a great day.

Sue and I had great time checking out several of the state parks in the area, including "her" park that she worked at until she retired. We are having a good time and Sue is a great .host!!! Tomorrow I leave for Traverse City and start time with my family.

Sue will have to post the picture of us together as it's on her camera.

Soon I will get inside and clean up the mouse carcasses that accumulate over the winter as Wiley leaves mouse poison around to keep them from eating everything up in there. Then I promise to post some inside pics!

I have to admit I have taken not one pic since Liz has been here, as she is such a wonderful photographer----I haven't even brought my camera with us!

I used to swim all summer in that pond, as did my kids for years and years when I roped off the shallow end with chlorox jugs and rope----they swam from sunup to sundown with only a bit of time to come out and eat! However, recently, as the fish population is about decimated from fishing over the years, the leeches have multiplied to the point where I can't swim any more! We need a solution to that icky population! In the early days, the kids and I could swim all summer a la nude with nary a care in the world when we lived in my leanto for two months.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
