Typical campfire,.... lots of topics to discuss! i have a 3-way frige,.... so i just turn it to 12v and turn off gas at tank and off I go. Works well until I forget to turn it back to electric or gas, and .....run down my battery and food gets warm. ugh,.. only done that once.

The other night- fixing my dinner, I washed a potato and set it aside (with fork next to it) to bake later. Had my pepperoncini beef coming out of the crockpot, yum. And had a big salad. Just a little bitty potato.

Decided to bake the tater using the convection portion of the oven, cuz I like crispy skins - wanted to see how it would come out. Set the temp and time for 30 minutes, and put the potato in. After 30 minutes, I checked the potato and thought, hmmmm, maybe it needs a few more minutes, but the skin is really, really good - going to just nuke it one minute. Set the time, hit start, turned my back and heard ****BOOM****

Ya know, after standing on my little stool and brushing as much of the tater onto my plate (Yes, I still ate it - and skin was still delish) - I cleaned my new micro/convection oven and told myself - okies, you have been initiated. We don't have to get you dirty again.

Where was the fork, you ask? Still sitting on the counter right where the potato had been - and I guess it never poked the tater. Of course, I have no memory of not poking. Have no memory of poking. Isn't that something we just DO???

Thanks, Sparkle - thought no one paid attn to that comment of yours.

It must be the luck of the Scottish, because I don't pierce the skin of my potatoes and have never had one explode. Of course that is in a regular microwave. However, did you know that if you hardboil eggs and let the pan boil dry eggs turn into grenades and hit the ceiling?

I've been known to have to scrape egg of the ceiling...and it doesn't all land in one compact space either. Instead there's a billion tiny egg gobs scattered all over the ceiling and they don't come off easily either.

I don't often visit the campfire, but suddenly I feel the need to creep forward for some warmth from the flames and my friends around me. I woke up this morning overwhelmed with missing my DH. It's not an anniversary, nothing to trigger it, except, maybe, last nights episode of Grey's Anatomy? Did anybody watch it? I've always suspected that the temtation of a mother to join her son when he is dying would be there. It was only hinted at, but I know if my young child was dying I would hate for him or her to go on alone. I wonder if it ever happens. Dave wasn't my child of course, but I was suicidal when he died. The other thing that may have triggered this was another program on TV. It was about all the great comedians. One clip was about Charlie Chaplin. I was glued, inches from the screen, because Dave did such a great imitation of Charlie. it was as if Dave was there on the screen.
I guess I need a long walk on the beach with Beth and Peaches and get my head straight again, but thanks for listening. I joke a lot, but sometimes its to stop myself from crying. Where the he77 (as Echo says) did all this come from?

Sparkle virtual hugs going out to you. ((((((((((hug)))))))))))) Made my heart ache just reading...

Snuggle on up and warm your bones, go for that long walk and clear your heart and head. Know that he will always be with you, in your heart, part of your soul.
