Calm, cool Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Calm, cool Saturday

Wow! Everyone must be busy with their travel plans, etc, this morning.

After a very stormy day and night, it is calm this morning. Lots of damage all around the Twin Cities and lots of flooding. 25% of the state of MN is without power right now, so I am lucky that I have it here.

My friend, Steve, who was out in his boat last night during the storms, finally sent me a text at 1:30 am saying he was home and OK.

On my way to work for today. Hope all is well with all of you. We are in for more severe storms this afternoon. Ugh!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

good morning ladies,
glad to hear your friend is ok Barbie, had wondered about that when I read about it.
My friends daughter came over and sat with her last evening for awhile and I was able to get some shopping done at
walmart. Bought her a nightgown, a nice little nightlight and also a little basket to attach to her bed to hold her
waterbottle, phone, and her morning set of pills. Picked up a few other necessary items as well. Her great grandchildren
also stopped by for a short visit while they were in town. Turns out the little boy is allergic to cats as he reacted badly
to her cat. The mom was thrilled to find that out as she could now tell the daddy NO CATS
The roses are bloomed out in the yard, very lovely and my friend wheeled her wheelchair over to the slider to take a
look.
Looks like a beautiful day today.
Have a great day ladies and be safe.

Good Morning BarbaraRose, Ava and Kathleen,

Way past morning here now, would anybody care for some afternoon tea? Was up early this morning but headed to town to do some last minute shopping for some food stuff. Been a little busy getting things put away and getting out some things I need to set aside for my trip next week as I think about them. It's an efficiency apt. that I am staying in, so need to pack like it was a camping trip to a point. The necessary paper products, Saran Wrap, Foil, plastic containers etc. etc. And this trip I am taking my own towels and linens along. Will deal with the clothes packing later on.

The weather here has been cloudy for the most part. Cleared up to partly cloudy late yesterday afternoon and got up to around 80-82 and a bit humid. But night temp went down into low 60's, so was good sleeping. Today so far the sun hasn't come out and I don't care if it does. Will just make that temp and humidity rise again. But lows are predicted into low 60's again.

BarbaraRose, sorry that you guys are getting all the bad weather out where you are, but glad you friend is safe and okay. Ava, sounds like your friend is going to get the care she needs without leaving the house, so that's good. Kathleen, sorry to hear about your daughters issues. Will keep her in my prayers and you as well. Glad you are enjoying the wedding.

So with this, I am off to putter around till Maggie arrives later this afternoon. Hopefully she had a good flight to Detroit and is now on the ground and getting ready to hit the highway. Have a nice afternoon all.

Liz swabbing her roof before we left for lake Placid and John Brown's farm and burial place for a drumming circle and African dancing celebration called "Juneteenth."

For most of the couple of hours we were there it was cloudy, but not raining, thankfully A really neat drummer woman let me use her Djembe drum (made in Africa) to join the drum circle. I had a great time, and now have gotten mine out for practicing here at home. I had never learned how to play it, and it's really not much fun compared to drumming with a group of drummers....but! I will try better.

The rest of the day, after the rain, I pretty much tried to get caught up with posts on here and the other group, and Liz is busy doing something over in her home-on-wheels.

Not sure what's on the docket for tomorrow yet, but I am sure we will find something to explore or do. Weather here has been almost too perfect for this week----hope it holds up! Not raining right now, so maybe I'll take poochies for a nightly walk. Happy Saturday to all.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

We dodged a bullet today. It never got as warm as predicted (only 80) so the severe storms that had been predicted never materialized either. However, there are more supposedly coming overnight and tomorrow. Looks like bad ones right now in the Dakotas, Iowa and Wisconsin, so we are surrounded! Gonna have to build an ark pretty soon! There were over 500,000 customers without power this morning in the state of MN. Luckily I wasn't one of them.

Soos and Liz, have fun this weekend! Sounds like you already are finding fun adventures together.
I said a prayer for Gwen. Life can sure be full of challenges at times.
Ava, be sure to take time for yourself too. This is supposed to be your vacation!

Worked all day so I am tired tonight. Still have laundry to do and some house cleaning, so I better get moving...
