So, a company with a VERY good reputation just left. My original idea - FORGET IT - $10,000. Certainly not in my budget.

I changed it up a bit, going "nicer" gravel (instead of all asphalt) on a 12' wide driveway, terminating in a 40' wide x 20' deep asphalt pad and then reconnecting to the original gravel driveway via a gravel circle off the asphalt pad.

Does that make visual sense in your mind?

And your thoughts on a 40' x 20' pad facing the pond and back 40??

Next I need to call an electrician and a plumber to bring the 30A service and water to the pad. Sorry, I doubt I can afford to bring the septic over there! :(
Maybe, though.

So make up your mind, is it a 11ft. driveway or a12ft. driveway?

Careful Vickie she may decide on that short turning radius.......(when not driving through mud) how fast/ tight can "Homer" turn that 5th wheel?

Wait she like Homer so he's safe...... :)

Not that I can speak from experience, but isn't there a way to tie into your current driveway? Maybe do some sort of half clover leaf or something? It might make the whole thing a little less expensive ...

In the second picture, it looks like there's either a teeny road or a path going from the out buildings to your house. Can that be used somehow?

Oh for HIM, she'd probably put a gold brick ADA approved pathway from the parking spot to the pond & back to the house!

And YOU would get a mud path to the back pond.

Those are little footpaths that G and I had put in when we first moved here.
And I don't want to permanently change the aesthetics of the house.

But the more I think about it, the more things I can think of to spend $5,000 on...
And gravel eventually "travels" to places where it shouldn't.

It was fun thinking, though. So, I just made $5,000 in gas money!
Where, oh, where shall I go?

Smart decision! You can now use a couple of thousand for fuel & still have enough left over for wine! :D

Good decision, Mitch. It sure hasn't seemed like the present setup has discouraged visitors. Oh wait, that's an idea  carold

And here I was just thinking I need to visit so I can offer an informed decision. Oh wait, it's not like being ignorant on the topic has ever stopped me before.

But you HAVE given me some new budgeting ideas. Spend it in your head, then don't spend it, then plan on how you'll really spend all that moolah you just saved. Yes! 8-)

What a great grasp you have on exercising one's brain! :)
I was also going to upgrade to the Honda eu2000i generator and decided not to. That got me another $1,000 in gas money!
