Tuesday on the road

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday on the road

Postby Liz » Tue Jun 18, 2013 5:46 am

Good morning all!
I have had a wonderful time with my hostess and tour guide extraordinaire, Carolb! We have packed a lot into just two days, and I will be doing a blog post about it soon. There is a lot of history in this area of New York, all with a scenic backdrop of rolling green farmland. Thistle has enjoyed running and barking with her "pack" of dogs in the big back yard. He is especially fond of Carolb....at least he loves her homemade doggie treats! Thank you Carolb for everything! Hope to see you again in Florida this fall.

We will get back on the road today among scattered showers. I'm going kayak shopping in the Adirondacks at Hornbeck boats, where the very lightweight boats are made.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning, Liz, and all that follow.....looks like rain again today....Why is it that this silly air card work when a storm is on it's way.... Oh, well, come Monday we'll have dependable signal and then things will work like they are suppose to....

Since it looks like a yucky day out, the plan for the day is to purge the kitchen/livingroom cupboards for travel.....Any time we are park for any length of time, Ernie seems to think we need to stock up on the groceries and we end up with "over crowded" food cupboards...so I'm pulling stuff, checking dates on them, and ridding us of things that we don't need or out of date....also need to get rid of some "real glass" stuff that we don't use....also, plan to go "purge" Ernie's step-dad, Kuhnnie's, camper cupboards, too....he's got lots of stuff that he never uses.....I think I'll put out a "free to a good home or donations" table" this weekend to get rid of stuff.....if no takers, stuff will go into the dumpster on Sunday.....

And, not to be left out, Ernie plans to wash the "house on wheels" tomorrow or Thursday....yep, we're getting ready to hit the road again....with our 1st stop at the PA GTG.....I'm ready for another adventure....

Okay, will stop for now....Have a great day, all...

Good Morning Liz, Lori and all who follow

It sounds like you indeed did have a good time with Carolb. Looking forward to the blog post. Am also looking forward to meeting and hosting Maggie this weekend. Naturally, our beautiful, comfortable weather is going to be replaced by some hot humid weather for the weekend and early next week  But I know it won't last. Hopefully it will cool down to more comfortable weather for the family reunion time and also her trip into the Upper Peninsula. As well as mine.

I'm really antsy to head north, can't wait to get going and spend 10 days exploring the sights. I always find places to go and even the ones I have seen are worth returning to. I'm sure both Sassy and I will have a ball.

Ms. Tessa is back home now. I picked up her ashes yesterday and she is resting comfortably on a shelf by her picture for now. My plan is to keep her here till Sassy passes and then I will bury them together. Sassy is beginning to perk up again and is enjoying doing things now. I think she loves my undivided attention.

Another beautiful sunny day on tap here, although a bit cool. Around 69 for a high. So am planning on painting my deck later on after it dries up from last nights dew. Then that will be done. Will probably spend some time sanding and maybe varnishing the picnic table I am building.. Soos requested a picture of it, so here it is Soos. This is unfinished and needs sanding yet, but at least you can see what it looks like

Once I get it varnished. then it will be moved to my deck.

So, with that, I am signing off and getting busy around here. Have a wonderful day all drive safe if you are on the road and keep cool if you are in the areas of high heat.

Good morning Liz, Lori, Sue and all that follow. Liz, I know you had a great time with Carolb. I sure enjoyed our time together when she parked at my place for 2 days. Tyler even joined the dog pack which is unusual for him. Where will you land next?? Lori, I just got done purging all the shelves and panty myself. What a job. But then to the PA gtg. Wish we could be there. But well be stuck in Red Bay, AL. Sue, that table is awesome. You really have some skills. Really nice!!

My day is full of errands, and putting together a small dinner for DHs son and grandson around 4 then off to a Shrine clown meeting tonight :-). We're getting everything ready to leave next week. I'm excited to be hitting the road. Not too excited about the destination, Red Bay, AL. But once we get the items resolved with the coach we'll be free to point her in any direction we want. But have to be home by mid August.

Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

I'm getting excited to hit the road again as well - even if a big chunk of it will actually be by air, and the rest by rental car rather than land dinghy. I'm looking forward to spending the weekend with Sue and Sassy - just hope I can keep up with Sue. She makes me tired just reading her posts

Sue - saw there's a 60% chance of rain on Tuesday. Guess which day we picked to go to Sleeping Bear? And we can't change it to Wednesday because we have reservations for a food tour. I may see if everyone would rather explore Old Mission Peninsula - at least we could be inside exploring. And then they could do Sleeping Bear on their own Thursday - even though that would mean a longer drive to Petoskey. Oh well, weather forecasts a week out are pretty unreliable. I will just think good weather thoughts.

Reminder - need to reconfirm food tour. You know how when you plan something for months and think you have all this time, then all of sudden it's the week before and you realize it's RIGHT HERE????? Yeah, I'm in panic mode.

Good Morning All, I returned from visiting the friends up in the LA area. I "camped" on the street in front of their house. That is what is nice about a small rig.

We played Chicken Foot with another friend who dropped by. I won for a change....we all rooted for Phil Michelson, but he again finished 2nd....that's a record that may never be broken.

Glad to see all who are getting underway to travel. Isn't it exciting!

Sue, I'm in awe of your skills as a carpenter! My big project will be scraping the bark off a stick, sanding, then painting with uthene. Can't even spell it!

Have a good day, lyn

good morning ladies
Liz back on the road after a great visit with Carolb, and yep, Carolb is awesome. Lori busy purging old groceries, and Sue's
picnic table looks awesome.
Had a great lunch and visit with my old chum yesterday and did a driveby of old haunts and took a few pictures. Will post
those later.
Not much planned for today other than a trip to Walgreens and then a sitdown reality chat with my friend. She needs to
get off her pity trip. Her family wants to put her in a care center and of course she doesn't want to but she needs to
decide that she can and WILL do things for herself. The family is strained over this whole ordeal. Me being here is giving
them all a well deserved break. She is perfectly capable of doing for herself with the exception of driving. Ok, that said
I'm off to catch up on emails and other things and perhaps put a post together for ya's. Ya'll have a great day. :D

Good afternoon
Great job on that table, Sue.
I have an appointment in a little while to have hearing checked as well as my hearing aids. Tomorrow appointment with ENT. If they don't figure out how to get this excessive fluid out of ears and stop dizzy spells, may have to fit me for a straight jacket soon. This has been going on since late April and really getting old.
Finally got someone up here to pick up all the limbs and sticks from storm 3 weeks ago. Guess what - about an hour later, another storm. Not much down this time, thankfully but I did loose power for about 3 hours yesterday.
Also had to have fridge worked on yesterday. Of course he showed up while the power was out but worked anyway assuring me it was fixed before he left. It does seem to be working but now too cold. Have reset and waiting to see what happens next.
If weather cooperates, think I will spend at least part of the weekend at Ditto and get Magic a much needed bath. Hasn't been washed this year except for what the rain removed. Rain doesn't seem to do a very good job on bug removal.
Have a great day whatever you are doing.
