Another TGIF Day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Another TGIF Day

Postby bluepinecones » Fri Jun 07, 2013 6:26 am

Good Morning

Just in case you were wondering, there are 207 days left in 2013.

I'm up way too early and my chances for a nap this afternoon are not good. Another medical test around noon then I may go for a very quick visit with CArol.

Stay safe out there.

Good morning Blue and all those to follow. Hope your med tests all come out OK. Tyler has been getting me up early this week :x But on the bright note I am walking him...actually walking ME...in the early morning to get the ole body moving. The early morning is beautiful, nice and cool before the heat sets in. I did it once earlier this week and then Tyler is like an alarm clock, whining and running to where his leash is and doing circles. So now he won't let me alone unless I take home for the 6:30 walk. Cheaper than a personal trainer. :P Now, gonna find some coffee. Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

Good morning Sarah & Red, & all to follow :D

Sarah, not fun to be awake during the night--happened to me last night too  Fortunately, a nap is on my schedule. Med tests for??? Hope everything goes well! Red, it's so heartwarming for me to be able to picture you & Tyler walking your neighborhood, having been there myself. Good luck with RED's re-tooling :( Elsie ready to roll--yep, add me to the "expensive lessons learned" list. Recall my battery problem? Dome light left on

Soos, out of the path of Andrea! Hey, driving up 81 means you need to cross through my area to reach your destination???? I'm off 90 near Utica, so keep that in mind! Really looking forward to my first "drive-by" guest--Liz!!

Rain moved in overnight, so it's a good day to continue with the spring cleaning.

G'grief, yes, the weather is such a topic of conversation, & looks like more of the same today, so y'all be safe wherever you are & especially those on the road! 8-)

Good Morning all,

Quick chime in here. Got things on my agenda today and want to get moving. But first, look what's back in my garage....
Image Boy, does it feel good t get it home again. So today, it's going to work. Heading to Lowe's to pick up load of lumber to build a wood picnic table. Spent all night building it in my dreams it feels like  So some of you others weren't the only ones awake during the night.

Yep, know all about the doggie "alarm clocks". Sassy is like clock work for me too. She gets a pill twice a day and she knows just when it's time too. But of late she seems to be moving the morning time back to anywhere's from 5:15 to 5:30 instead of closer to 6  And yes, our furry kid are better than any personal trainers. I take mine out everyday, course now am not walking quite as far due to Ms. Tessa's condition.

Maggie, MI's weather toward the end of June is usually pretty nice. Temps in the 70's and maybe a few low 80's thrown in. But remember, for the most part you are going to be near water, so it will tend to be cooler than inland. I would suggest you pack shorts and T's of course, but also throw in slacks, sweatshirt and jacket. In other words, just be prepared for sudden weather changes. There are laundry mats, so one can always do a load of wash rather than pack a ton of stuff. And of course sunscreen and a small can of bug repellent won't hurt either. Accuweather and our local TV weather websites are good locations for last minute weather checks before you leave. www.TV9and10News.com is the local station for here. As to places to stay close to me, well, I have an extra room here and you are more than welcome to stay here, but if you would rather have your own place, there is a small but very well kept up motel called the Waters Inn, just about 2 miles south of me. If you would rather go to Traverse City, which is an hours drive from here, there are lots of motels there and I can always drive over there. Let me know what you decide.

Lots of traveling, gardening, house cleaning, visiting etc. going on around the forum it seems. Soos is working her way up the road despite the rain and BJ got her Elsie back.

Well, I want to head to Lowe's and get my lumber so I can start my project. Have a great day all.

Up really early here in Tuscaloosa. Found a good COE campground, which looked not to far off the highway-but that turned out to be the crow fly mileage  tGM went for a walk, I worked out and now watching a semifinal French Open match. He was sure that we could not get satellite reception, but it was worth a press of a button and wola :D will be in Memphis for 2 nights and then ?? Getting use to the travel mode and so far have not left an plugs or hoses behind. Had to do some rearranging with the wine glasses and a few other breakables but otherwise good to go, oh, except for no air conditioning while driving. All have a good day! carold

Good morning everyone!
Took the day off to help DD & her BF to get organized - they're still sleeping so I thought I'd sneak some time in visiting with my friends here! :D
Sadie started me on a walking program this week too. Red, she's just like Tyler, we went 2 mornings in a row & now it's a routine which she insists on. And we go at her pace! She's quite the task master.
I did find a glider rocker on Craigslist - it's perfect! (will post pics when I get a chance) I drove the van to work yesterday & had my lunch in it while I rocked & studied the map for the trip west. - Love it! :D
This week will be busy at work - board meeting & annual preacher conference - will make for extra long days & lots of miles transporting folks around - we love to see everyone come, but we love it even more when they leave.
Sounds like everyone here is busy too - hope you all stay safe & enjoy the day...

Good Morning All, Yesterdays posts were very interesting about the propane. I drive with the refrigerator OFF. That way I do not have to worry about turning the propane off when buying gasoline. I put a "blue ice" in the freezer and don't open the refrig unless absolutely necessary.

There are many horror stories about fires when buying gasoline. And, if one has an electric ignition on the refrig, and the pilot light goes out, there the ignition is sparking while gasoline fumes are surrounding the motor home!!!

I had a motor home burn to the ground several years ago, and the propane tank exploded. Not at a gas station tho. This is a story for the "campfire".

I took my "driving test" on the computer this AM before I went to the forum. The AAA sent it to me free as I am over 65. It is a brain exercise to improve my driving skills. Several of my friends have lost their licenses and that is NO FUN.

Hey Laura...good to see you here posting.

When I "lived on the road" I visited all the places you all are posting from. I wish I had had this forum then.

Isn't this a big beautiful country!!!

When I have a post disappear I hit the back 'button' a couple of times and if I don't find it hit the forward a few times I almost always am able to find it.

I've had a busy day, met a friend at ten and we went to Cape Girardeau shopping. The water is really up along route three but not over the main road anywhere. I'm sure though there are several side roads under water. The stores have such a better selection in Cape so of course I bought lots of clothes at the sales. Best find was a really pretty blue sort of light canvass jacket that was $11. marked down from $50. :)

I'm ready for a quiet evening.

I am sitting in Jonestown KOA in PA tonight....this is why so many of you dislike KOAs, I suspect......the cost of this is ridiculous! 42 bucks for full hookups. Until now, I have paid 29 to 30 bucks for water and electricity. I didn't want a full hookup to start with, but by the time I got here, it was what was available. And this campground is not any better than any other KOA I have loved. Sigh! But I am here, rested after spending the day with my bro and sister-in-law in the pouring rain under my canopy, and then my nephew and his wife and two kids tonight, after the rain stopped. Tomorrow I head for my last campsite in Cortland, NY, and Sunday will make the trek to home, I am hoping.

I will write about my last night's campground when I have more time-----an experience to remember and never repeat! Off to bed now.

Happy trails to all.

Happy travels!
