Just got confirmation from my daughter that she will meet me in DC and go to my cousin's reunion with me. The news I wasn't expecting is that she will be touring museums with some other artists until the 30th and then will hang out with me until the 6th of July. That sort of made my decision easier. Thi I will need to drive my rig so that we have affordable housing! Wll and if I have to go east anyway......I will look into the reservations as soon as I get a chance. Hope that cherry hill in Washington will have room for us and then I will work backwards. July in dc is my idea of a walk in a very hot park... but seems as if that will be my option. Will post on the PA arrangement when I get my plans settled.

Lori...the call is in and the reservations are for site 237....arriving on Tuesday 6/25 and leaving to meet up with my daughter in DC on Sunday 6/30.

I have to give credit to my daughter who said, "Well I will be in DC already and I can stay with you in the rig for a couple of days until Lucas flies in for the family reunion in Annapolis. (Here I was thinking I might fly in and out of the reunion myself. ) Now I need to put my thinking cap on to make a "cot" sized sleeping area on the dog crate and chair side of the rig. This might call for PVC piping.... Daughter hasn't slept in this rig. She might be remembering the 25 ft Jayco that had the large cab over bed... This much smaller cab over might fit her but no way am I giving up that storage.

Well, this air card fought with the weather and the trees all weekend, so didn't get in here until this morning....so have updated the "roll call" in the beginning post to putting Tina in and taking Shirlv out as she won't be joining us....Poor gal, she over did moving furniture and her back has her staying home until it's better...So am sending her healing thoughts and hoping she's feeling better real soon....

Tina, glad you are joining us on your way to the DC area....it's always good to rest up before a family reunion....hope you can fit the DD in the RV to sleep...

Spinner's so excited to see his doggy friends, Stuart, Remi, Teddy, etc...and to meet new ones.....

We still have 3 sites available of the original 10....so, if you are planning to come, there's still time to call in that reservation.....and we can still get more sites if needed...

I have not read all this thread so Lori may have already posted about the 150th anniversary of the battle of Gettysburg. Just in case:
there is a 10 day commemoration (June 28-July 7) featurig live reactments with up to 15,000 soldiers dressed in Civil War uniforms and frng vintage weaponary, including cannons. Might be an interesting side trip if you can take the crowds and noise.

Yes, completely forgot to post about the 150th of the Battle of Gettysburg....and it is something you are more than welcome to enjoy....If it is, please call to see if you can extend your stay at Ferryboat, as all motels and campgrounds within 50 miles of Gettysburg are booked solid for that time period and yes, the crowds are projected to be overwhelming.....Ferryboat is a little over 65 miles from Gettysburg, so it's doable....And we can give you directions....

Ernie & I are avoiding our home-base near Gettysburg, as we know this is going to be a crazy place during the 150th week.....and after the GTG, we're headed north toward the New York state line where I have family and a reunion to attend.....

No banner, yet, but Ernie's on "Banner Watch" with daily trips to the Post Office..... Will let ya' know when it arrives.... We're so excited...Fun begins next week....

Lori, because of my parents health, Steve & I will be leaving Ferryboat on Thursday, but we'll be there tomorrow. Mom is going through radiation for lung cancer & Dad was taken to the hospital by ambulance one week ago today, so I need to be there for them. See you tomorrow.

Irmi, sorry to hear about your parents but understand those priorities and have had to juggle around similar choices. Glad that I will be arriving Tuesday to see you before you head back. I am just east of WHeeling at a state park and will be back on the road tomorrow.
