Tuesday morning from the PA Woods...

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Tue Jun 04, 2013 6:14 am

Good morning, all....This will be short and sweet cause who knows how long I'll have a connection.....Sunny, but cooler here today....repair guys coming to fix the pull cables on the tanks...manufacturer's defect.....but then after that's done, we'll be ready to hit the road again soon....looking forward to the PA GTG....can't wait to see everyone....the "stop smoking" is going slow, but I have cut back greatly....It's still a "work in progress"

Okay, better stop and post....
Have a great day, all.... :D

Good Morning from the chilly North Woods,

Red, that sums up my day sometimes, but usually doesn't involve a nap, more like a lets go for a ride or up town and browse around thing.

I see we have two Morning Coffee posts this morning, within a minute of each other. Thought I would go with this one, since it's a minute earlier than Lori's. Sorry Lori. But glad to see you post and that you and Ernie are doing okay, getting some repairs made on your "home on wheels" and then heading out on the road. Would love to be going to the PA GTG, but won't make it this year. One of these days, I will get to Gettysburg.

Got the hay field which passes for a lawn around here, mowed yesterday  Looks really nice out there I have to admit. Hmmm, maybe good time to bang in the For Sale sign. Will be working out there this afternoon, I get back from Ms. Tessa's vet appt. and have some lunch.

Sorry to say, but I think this might be Ms. Tessa's last trip. I've been wrestling with that decision all night, but I see a dog who is getting very thin, hasn't eaten hardly anything for over a week except for the warmed up ground beef I put her pills in and maybe just a tad bit of dinner one night last week. Actually she hasn't really eaten in quite a while. She's been alert, but also sleeping and peeing a lot, her energy comes and goes in spurts. I'm sure that if we run some more tests, they are going to show more kidney failure and the need for yet another upping of the phosphorous pills, which will put her at the max dose for them , which will make her feel better for the short term, plus the anemia is probably gradually getting worse as well. She was laying by my chair last night and she looked so thin, and frail and I could tell she wasn't really feeling good. I don't want her to suffer through the last throes of terminal illness.

No word on the arrival of any TT's from the dealer as yet. And if all goes well, I should have my Flex back by the end of the week :D

Wonder how Soos is doing on her trip north. Hope she checks in somewhere along the line.

Time to mosey along here. Have a load of wash to put away and get my self moving as well. Have a nice day

Good Morning, I am also in PA at a little rustic campground in Gardners, P a . I will be here until the 23rd. I do have good wi-fi. Heading to Camping World in Hanover, PA, to get tire covers, find a laundromat, come back to RV and go through more stuff to see what I can get rid of. My sewing/embroidery machine is going and I will look for a lite weight sewing machine. I do not embroidery enough to justify the weight. I will have my daughter keep all my thread so that when I am in Maryland. I will go on an embroidery binge. I gave her my first embroidery machine that is a stand alone and frankly, I like better than the expensive one I have.

I am still happy about how much everyone loved Miss Kitty. I have went to my blog several times to watch her christening so I can laugh.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all!

Hugs Sue, it's been such a long time coming but sometimes we have to make those really really tough decisions. Tess knows you have done everything you can for her.

And Soos did check in last night - it was at the end of yesterday's coffee thread, I believe.

We had a burst of slightly cooler mornings but I think that ends after today. Slightly cooler also means less than 70 at 7 but not by much.

Red, I had printed that sign a while back and it fits me just about every day. I'm too lazy to go for a ride even. Most days just hate to drive to town. The bank just called for the third time. The checks I ordered are in and I haven't been to town to pick them up.

I need to get the weedeater out and clean up around my rose bed but it's just too hot and humid. My DH has been running into the bricks around it and has them knocked down. I want to get some rose fertilizer so maybe I can get myself in gear and go to Walmart and the bank.

Soos found a good KOA on her way North. The year I went to New Jersey I stayed at 2 that had very little except hookups, the sites were dirt and they were almost $60. Talk about sticker shock from what we usually pay in the South. It was my fault because I was in a hurry and would drive until almost dark and the KOA's have signs I could find.

QUICK UPDATE ON MS. TESSA

We and note that I said we, have just returned from the vet. I had a talk with him before I took her in the room with us and we decided not to bother with anymore tests as we both know pretty much what they are going to show. He asked how she was doing and I told him what I had been observing. So then went out and got her from the car.

Weigh in shows she is down to 43 pounds now. He gave her a thorough checkover, checked her temp and her overall physical appearance etc. Said that it's not time just yet. She's still moving around good and doesn't show any signs of discomfort or weakness as yet. So we are going to increase the Tumi-K that she takes for the phosphorous levels by a pill a day and just let her enjoy life for awhile as long as she is enjoying it. Told me what signs to watch for and we will go back in 10 days for another follow up. Boy, did she trot out to the car after that. Guess she was happy that she is going to get to enjoy more of this MI spring yet. Mom (Sassy) was glad to see her home too. So we will continue on.

I was trying to post at the same moment that Mitch posted, so my post wouldn't post. Just as well, I was going to say the exact same thing.
"You're a good mom, Sue."

Really busy yesterday. Got my mammogram done, and then got shocked and poked for the EMG test on my right arm. Confirmed that it is just carpal tunnel syndrome. Tomorrow they will make a wrist brace for me since the ones I had bought from the drugstore had hurt me last year. Hope this will make it easier to ride my bike and use my mouse on my computer.

Really enjoying just relaxing today with Ovation channel showing 6 hours of UK Antiques Roadshow, while I work on downloading and making sure all student narrated presentations are working and I can hear sound. This has been a horrible semester in terms of technical problems. Spent well over two hours Sunday with 15 students trying to present oral presentations live. (Other sessions with rest of students last week.) They and I kept losing our connections and systems kept freezing so it was nonstop rebooting and starting over. I sent all 40 an email saying I was being very generous with grades on that because I know the technical issues were really throwing them off. Need to talk to support staff and dept chair about what to do next semester. I was so frustrated to have wasted so much of my day in this frustrating exercise, not counting the fact that besides making notes and managing the session, I had to be filling in a form from advising as each student spoke. Ridiculous!!

Need to get my laundry done, so got everything loaded into my rental car for a trip to the Laundromat. Wish Michigan State parks had laundries!!

Looking forward to dinner tonight with old friends, also.

Glad to hear your decision has been put off a few days or weeks, Sue.

Sue, read your first post with tears in my eyes, read your second post with tears in my eyes. Just enjoy each day that you have with her. You will know when the time is right for her to go over the Rainbow Bridge. I've been there many times and know how hard it is to watch our pets slip away. Hugs to you and Miss Tess.

Judy, I have carpal tunnel in both wrists. I've learned the best thing I can do are my wrist exercises several times a day. Sometimes then I forget I have it. The braces never worked for me. But I trained myself to sleep with my wrists NOT bent in (like I used to) and that made a big, big difference. I simply purchased either a bowling or golfing glove for my wrists to do the training - those are much more comfortable than the braces they give for "medical" reasons. Much less expensive, too.
