I know the systems better because I go out more often than him. When we started, we shared duties but I ended up with a lot of the inside duties while he did a lot of the outside, including when we dumped. Well after the first time I went out solo, then we went out again - somehow, he didn't remember all the steps to dump. So I handled the hoses and he did the running the water from the inside. I also have to show him how to light the water heater.

If he's home, he will help me hook up and help me back in to the driveway when I return - sort of. The last time his Jeep was in the driveway and he almost let me hit it even after I told him I couldn't see it due to the angle of the truck. grumble grumble. This past weekend I managed to get the trailer back in the driveway without touching his Jeep. Just don't ask about the love bump on the front of the trailer from where I touched it with the truck - got a little bound up trying to have the trailer already at a 90 to the driveway by time the trailer wheels touched it. Usually I have about 5-8 more feet to get straightened.

Another Texas Welcome to the forum. These women are awesome and inspiring. The "I can do it" spirit is alive and well here. Because my DH is disabled and can not bend, etc. I do all the hooking and unhooking and dumping. So I do the inside and outside. He does most of the driving. He drove all the time with the 5th wheel. But now we have a MH and I am gaining confidence driving it solo. There are systems, like air brakes, air ride suspension, fancy Talking, singing, GPS, generator, etc that are new. But I am reading the manuals and practicing.

Ah...makes sense.
I wish all we had to do was back into "a" driveway. No...we gotta get it behind the gate with a few inches on each side (fence and house eve) to watch out for, or the neighbors (funny...there are huge boats and 35' 5th wheels on the streets all over this neighborhood) will call the city on us.
If I get my own MH...likely I'll have to pay storage, too...it won't fit in that space...too narrow and low, because of the low-hanging eve.
But "stuff" happens, right? Once in Morrow Bay, CA. He was so excited to get to the beach ("Things" happen to your brain from living in AZ for too long :) ) he forgot to all the way unhook, and the bar that the hitch sits on got yanked. Fortunately, the people in the office were able to help us out. You meet the nicest folks while RVing!

Thanks for the welcome, Red from TX! What kind of a MH do you have...it sounds so complicated?

Oh...Duh!

I'm always looking at the pic above the names!

Your MH is big...how long is it? It looks like a 40 footer...

Ah...I just saw the description...it's a 33 footer...not too long :)

The longest we've had of MHs was a 29' 1979 Midland...what a tank!

It got us through a lot of dog shows though!

Actually, RED is 35'. dont know why Tiffin calls it 33aa. There are a couple members that are currently or used to show dogs. I used to show English and Irish Setters on the bench and German Short Haired Pointers in the field back in the 60s & 70s. Had a 1971 Winnebago Chieftain !!

Welcome Cindy! :D Where oh where in Mesa? I lived there for 10 years--Evergreen Historic District, Country Club & University!...Living in central NY now, don't ask why   Anyway, I travel with my dogs in a 17ft class b. Just like driving a regular ol' van! Hope you and DH work something out, but yes, many of the ladies handle big rigs on their own. They'll tell you they always get comments like "you drive that all by yourself?" I don't think I could, but also I don't need all that room. Happy travels!

Thank you Carol!

Actually NY sounds more fun! We are at University and Val Vista. It is really boring, and deteriorated because of the economic crash. How long has it been since you've been here?

Red; dog-showing sure has changed since then...hasn't it? I stopped after 5 years when I realized I was just contributing to the over-population of animals. I've worked in rescue ever since, though.
