Rabbits!! Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rabbits!! Saturday

Postby Redwahine » Sat Jun 01, 2013 6:48 am

Rabbits. Last night on a continued thread from TGIF someone reminded us to say Rabbits today. This is the first day of June. I just don't understand how fast time flies. June?! Really?! I was up late watching news about the tornados in OK. they are sure getting hit hard  Praying all of our sisters in that area are all right. I was going to make sure I said Rabbits at the stroke of midnight. Then a Skyoe call came in from my daughter in Korea and I totally lost track of the time. Oh well, next month. Hopefully, we'll be on the road be the first of July :P

Nothing out of the ordinary today. DH still sick. Still CRABBY. Yesterday I went to Walmart and bought school supplies for two G kids in Maui. Every little bit helps the single dad. They are out of school last week and they start school the first week of Aug. So I wanted to get the box in the mail before we hit the road :P also went to T.J. max and found a few things for moi!! Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

Good morning all…well beautiful day here so far…no rabbits for me…went to the graduation ceremony for my middle grandson..he is Autistic and they had a special ceremony in the afternoon for the graduating special needs kids.l..it was great…I mean so heartfelt by everyone involved…the aid that was with my grandson every school day (he had a one on one person) had tears in her eyes the whole time…this aide has been with him since the 4th grade… it was really very beautiful… my grandson was in the Autistic class as well as the over all school classes…and he did great…got some awards among other stuff…very proud of him to say the least..today I will finish off the washing of MySweetDream and cleaning the inside getting ready for Shenango camp ground to see Liz…so I better get busy..hip and tail bone are a little better…so have a great day and stay safe…donna ;)

DANG! I never thought of RABBITS this morning! Sigh----and after I had been so good for a few months past.

GOOD MORNING from St. Cloud, FL. A bit of excitement here last night---about an hour before sundown, a low-profile, silvery-colored car with black windows came down this dead end road to the rancher's locked gate beside my trailer, turned around on the narrow space, and, rather than realizing he had made a wrong turn despite the DEAD END sign, parked on the grass right outside the fence from my trailer. Molly was barking up a storm, so I went out and called her inside. As the windows were black, and I couldn't see in, I had no idea what was going on, so I thought I would give him a few minutes to read a map and take off. An hour later, as the sun was going down, he was still there. I was on the phone with my daughter back home in the north country, and she said I should call the police. Three calls later, with the car still sitting there, and by then it was pitch dark, I was told the sheriff came here and found no one. I said no other cars ever came down here as I would have gone out had they shown up. I finally got another call from a cop who said, "I am in the car parked next to you!" Why on earth couldn't someone have told me that hours ago???!!!! He was an undercover cop looking for a wanted drug dealer living across the highway from this dead end! Good grief! I had my carving knife and pepper spray all ready to grab should anyone have tried to enter this place! He said no one was allowed to say who he was----THANKS! What a relief!

Tonight at midnight I pick up the kids at the Orlando airport. Then one day, tomorrow, to finish packing, unhooking, hitching, and preparing to take off early Monday morning for the North Country.

Good morning Red & all who follow,

What fun - to talk to your daughter - isn't Skype wonderful? Much more important than saying rabbits, I'm sure. :D

This sure is a busy group... I'm still catching up on what's happening with everyone.
Sue, can't wait to hear if you get that TT.
Ava, so excited for you to hit the road & that school is OVER!
Donna, I LOVE your blogs!! I forget to go look so thanks for reminding us when you update them. :) Just saw your post about your grandson's graduation. Hooray for him & everyone who helped along the way. :D
Carolb, I'm starting that purging thing too. We;ve been clearing out my DD's college apartment - tI looks so beautiful clean & nearly empty but now my basement is full. I am going to start sorting & tossing stuff as soon as they head out.
Barbie, keeping you & your dad in my prayers.

We had some beautiful storms the last couple of days. The really bad stuff usually shifts north or south of us at the last minute. So sorry about OK - they just keep getting hit... :(

We've just about finished clearing out my DD's apartment now we'll start helping her BF get his cleaned out. With them here off & on, I'm back to being a full-time working mom.   Thankfully all the fur babies get along - they have 2 very loving & personable cats & they (the kids) are leaving in about a week - so we're having lots of last minute get-togethers & trying to savor every minute.

Not much else going on here of interest - just working at work & tending to the 'kids' after work. :)

Hope everyone has a great day. Later... Catherine

Soos, just noticed your post... what a night! Hope you get some rest today. You'd think the police could fill you in a little earlier on their stake-out - especially after you called them with your concerns. Did they think you might warn the bad guys???? :?

Apparently they DID think so, unless they thought I was brewing some meth here in my camper!

Good Morning Ladies,

Well, for starters this morning, look what was parked in my drive temporarily. No this is not my new TT. This is my friends. We picked it up yesterday and now she is happily rolling toward home, just left a short bit ago.
Image

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive from the factory. All indications at the moment are showing next week. Since my Flex is in the hospital getting all fixed up from the accident with the deer last week. I figure it will be the following week before I bring it home providing it arrives next week. But in the meantime, we had fun getting hers. Had originally thought it would be first of next week as the dealer was going to make some modifications, but the tech who was working on the bunk project my friend had in mind, didn't want to do that part cause he was afraid he would mess up. So my friend is going to do it herself as she knows just how she wants it and is good woodworker too. So she was able to haul it here yesterday. Did have one little problem when we first started out, in that the brake controller wouldn't work despite doing so when she hauled her older TT up with her. A check of systems showed that the trailer/van hookup for the wiring had shorted. Quck fix and off we went. But while waiting for the fella who was going to work on that to have his lunch, we had ours in the trailer, so we officially christened it.

Since she got the trailer quicker than anticipated, she decided to head for home today rather than either Monday or Tuesday or next week. I know she is really itching to get in there and do the renovations she wants to do. So right after we got home from dealers, we parked her van and rig and hopped into my rental car and made a trip to Camping World, an hour south of me. Wanted to pick up a few things she couldn't find at the camping world near her. So was busy day. And cause mom nature as cooperative yesterday, I was actually able to BBQ some steaks for dinner :)

Came home from Camping World to find my neighbors pickup sitting in my drive with a partial load of mulch. We are splittlng a load and he picked it up yesterday. So my share is covered in the truck bed right now as mom nature is making with some scattered rain showers here. I might be able to spread it out in between them. Shall see.

Red, sorry to hear DH is sick, hope you can stay away from the germs. Ava, have a wonderful trip to CO, Barbie, seems like a lot of people were tied up with graduations or weddings on the holiday weekend, even around here. Our local high school graduation was yesterday. Sarah, had to laugh at your nice ripe tomatoes disappearing. That same thing happened to my mom and I one summer. We had planted a cherry tomato plant and it got two nice little ripe ones. We had planned to pick them the next morning too and they wee gone. Figured it was a chipmunk

Well, time to get this body moving arund here. Not dressed yet as we made breakfast and then my friend hit the road. With rain showers moving around, I'm not in a hurry. Got a load of washing doing and will see what I do fro here. Have a small folding table that I want to redo for my front porch, so might work on that. Colder weather coming in after today too. Highs in 50-60's range again, so Carolb, don't pack you long johns away just yet.

Good morning, Soos what an experience , glad it all turned out ok, had to be scary though. Sure glad they let you in on why the car was there.

I'm at my favorite CG, nice this morning, possible rain later. Ran into some driving over here yesterday. My rig is not totally fixed have to find a Body Shop to fix a huge hole where screw twisted out ( oh, am I repeating myself ,sorry ). They filled it in with clear caulking so no leaks I hope until fixed.

I met a nice couple last night, gave her our address for forum, she wanted it for her sister, who travels all over in her Roadtrek alone. She thought it would be great for her. I told her she could join too, if she wanted. He was a retired Marine, I seem to run into them everywhere. After I mention my daughter was in for 8 yrs, (reserves) conversation gets more interesting :) Basic training for all is the same, once you get through that, doesn't matter what your job is .

Well, think I shall do some cooking while it's cool and a nice breeze coming in. Would like a shrimp salad for lunch and doubt I will want to cook then.

Have a great day everyone, hope all are ok in OK, Dawn ????? I never think of rabbits !! Hmm

Good morning all :D

Ugh, no rabbits here, no drug dealers either :o That is just too crazy Soos--nothing like asking the police to PROTECT you from a stranger & finding out the "stranger" is a police officer! So you spend a night in fear cuz they want to protect themselves

Oh Catherine :( the kids are moving out. Hmmm, but that means your freedom, eh? Glad the storms are missing you. Thinking of Dawn--her cg is in the thick of things...Anyone heard from her?...Safe travels Ava!!!...Sarah, a happy camper & getting really good at it--Nicki too!!!... Donna, what a joy to see your grandson graduate & with special honors. Always so inspiring to hear the triumphs of the autistic kids...

Another hot & humid day here, but will get out now before the worst of it. Some gardening/yardwork to do....

Hope y'all have a great day...safe travels! 8-)

Good Morning I am finishing my coffee then going to get busy sorting out some camping stuff to get ready to hit the road for a week. I am heading north in the near future, have some camping and some visiting to do, also have to visit Roadmaster in Vancouver as they are going to check out my tow bar. One side is very hard to push in and I think it might have been in a bit of a bind at one time or another. I bought it used so it will be good to get it checked out. They do that for free too....yea.

It is supposed to be warm here this week 90's so I need to get stuff done while it is still cool.

Laundry in, floors swept, dishes done. OK time to move into the shower and then get a move on.

Morning! It's going to be a hot one here today!

Sue - that's a nice looking rig! Which one did she end up getting? The 19BH? Can't wait to see yours.

I need to contact my friend in Detroit. I would love to see her, but if she's not available, I may have to mozy on up and check out Sue's rig in person!!!!

I'm enjoying hearing about others' trips - sure makes me want to get out on one of my own. Wonder how long I would have to allocate for a trip next summer/fall to the upper midwest/northwest?

Well I forgot to say Rabbits…my first words are usually “Outside Radar” The good news around here is that we have finally been getting some rain regularly! Our lawn is green for the first time since two years ago when the neighbor boy mistakenly sprayed the whole yard with Round-Up rather than weed spray. Granted a lot of the green is weeds but the grass that was sowed this spring is coming up! It’s cold and rainy today. Last night my friend who owns the greenhouse dropped in and gave me two flats of plants and I had planned to plant my pots today…not gonna happen. Also planned to drain the anti-freeze from the 5er and sanitize the fresh water tank and maybe shampoo the carpet…not gonna happen. It’s city-wide rummage sale and my neighbor called and asked if I wanted to go check out some of the sales….she’s going to be a grandma any time and is looking for a high chair and some other baby things to have at her house. I opted out….since I should be having my own sale rather than buying someone else’s stuff. Guess I’m just going to be a slug today. I love the rain but wish Mother Nature would be considerate enough to work around my plans.
Anxious to see Sue’s new TT. Ava, I hope you have a wonderful trip because you so deserve it. Soos have a safe trip to your northern home. You really should have invited that undercover cop in for the taste of the “Recipe”! Or is bootlegging illegal in FL? The rest of you have fun and safe travels.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

I've been up for a little while. It thundered and rained a lot last night. First thing I did early in the morning when I woke up was look out my back window and make sure my new electric bike was still there and the cover was still in place. Yup, so back to bed!

It is almost sunny right now but supposed to rain today most of the day. I went out for a short (4 miles) ride yesterday, but if I can today, I will head out to do some more exploring outside the park. There is supposed to be a place for ice cream comes a couple of miles away and even a Kroger store. Nice to have some transportation, but mostly today will consist of work and watching television. I am really lazy these days.

Got lots of things going on this week. A friend is coming tomorrow to walk her dogs. Monday is doctor appointments and Tuesday another doctor appointment and dinner with friends. Another lunch on Wednesday and Thursday! Also got to stop by my bank and do some shopping for things I can't get outside of Michigan.

This weekend is the Detroit Grand Prix and the Hoedown on the downtown riverfront, but I will not be going to either of those. As I get older, I get happier just sitting at "home" and watching the people go by in the campground.

Rabbits! I forgot rabbits!

It's okay, because Son was online, and we had a lovely chat while he cooked his breakfast. I'm so glad his semester is over, and he has time to indulge me with chats! :D

Sue, what fun you've been having! I'm really eager for your TT to come now. Soos, what a scare! Sometimes I just wonder about law enforcement officers. Red, how great to skype with your daughter. Is she enjoying Korea? Ava, you sound excited! Judy, are you enjoying the bike?

Have a great Saturday, everybody!
