on someone's birthday wishes discounts came up saw this earlier than again just not on fb thought I would share it
and no I didn't snopes it so if it's wrong oh well

As I was waiting in line behind an older gentleman at Wendy's recently, I heard him ask for his senior discount. The girl at the register apologized and charged him less. When I asked the man what the discount was, he told me that seniors over age 55 get 10% off everything on the menu, every day.
Being of 'that' age myself, I figured I might as well ask for the discount too.
This incident prompted me to do some research, and I came across a list of restaurants, supermarkets, department stores, travel deals and other types of offers giving various discounts with different age requirements. I was actually surprised to see how many there are and howsome of them start at the young age of 50 .
This list may not only be useful for you, but for your friends and family too.
Dunkin Donuts gives free coffee to people over 55 .

And there are more not on that list. I get a 10% discount at Safeway up here on Thursdays. Will have to start paying attention to that - as it's a big deal, especially as I purchase the stuff I get deals on already. I'm not going to be too proud to say "give me my senior discount". And on the road to Death Valley, I stopped in a Walgreens. I knew the prices would be higher than Walmart, but I wouldn't buy other things I didn't need ... but their the clerk said he hoped he wouldn't embarrass or upset me, but did I qualify for the senior discount? After getting that, the prices worked out LESS ... and I was happy. He said their senior day wasn't the same day every week. Not sure how we should know, but again, ASK. I usually don't think of it ... getting better, though.

Thanks. I knew about some of these.
A word of caution - many more vary by location. For example, Publix here offers a 5% discount for seniors, not 15%. I shopped a Publix in FL earlier this year and inquired about the senior discount; clerk informed me Publix does not offer the discount in FL - too many seniors, I guess.
Local Berger King offers a senior drink but no other discounts for us old folk.

I was perusing the list yesterday and thought the Big Lots (30%) sounded too good to be true, so I emailed their corporate HQ.
Here is the reply I received this morning:

The best western one is wrong also. I believe it's still 10% off. Not the too good to be true 40% stated. But ask everywhere. They might change or not have one, but if they do, take it.

Awww golly thanks loads!!.... but all I did was copy and paste it had wondered on to my FB page
when I saw it and remembered the talk about discounts thought it would be possibly an asset...sorry that some of it is wrong
