Viewing new posts ????

Don't know if anyone else has ever had this problem but I'm having it now & it really frustrating. Will try to describe it as best I can. When I access this website & go to any of the subjects (like General talk, Morning Coffee, etc.), I usually open any that are showing the circle in gold/yellow...you know what I mean....those subjects that have new posts. When I enter same & read all the posts not previously read I then go out & go to the next subject that has the circle colored to show new entries. Before, those circles that I entered & read the new entries, would no longer be colored (so I knew then that I had read all the new stuff)....but now they stay colored so I can't tell if I've read them or not.....
If you can understand what I mean, please tell me how to fix this....When I go into settings there is nothing describing how to fix this & I am completely stumped........Any opinions or advice would be so appreciated....BTW, I check this website every day, whether that matters or not......

That happens to me sometimes. I usually double check to make sure I had read everything, then go back to the main page and click on "Mark Forum Read", that usually takes care of it. I don't know why it does that, but you're not alone.

I'm not sure I know what you mean, but I'll give one thing a try.
Here's a screen show - Introduce Yourself and General Topics.
Introduce yourself has NO UNREAD subjects, and General has UNREAD subjects.



Now, I just finished finished reading ALL topics in General and hit my BACK button.
Hitting the BACK button does not clear the unread subjects.
You must hit REFRESH. Then the RED new post indicator will disappear.

Is that what you mean?

I don't hit the back button. After reading all the posts, I click on "Board index" to take me back to the main page, but some times it still shows new posts. I click on that section and there are no new posts, click on Board Index again and that's when I click to Mark Forum Read. At first I thought someone would post while I was reading a section, but it also happens when there is no one else on the forum, shown or hidden other than me.

WOW I guess I am a "simple kinda gal". I just click "view new posts" then I don't miss a thing. Or if I do I don't know it LOL.

Ring me in as #8......but here's a thought....if you haven't read ALL the posts for that section....I mean from the very beginning....then it may that's why you got the red circle...I don't know for sure, but hey, it's my best guess....

I have mine set so that "new posts" is what pops up when I open the site. carold
