Tuesday with Rain Potential

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday with Rain Potential

Postby Colliemom » Tue May 28, 2013 7:17 am

Good Morning sleepyheads,

Hey, where is everybody. I miss the usual Morning Coffee starters. Carolb, better get back on the job here

I'm going to be getting on the job here pretty soon too as it's going to be house cleaning morning here. Now, isn't that exciting news  I am sure you are all going to be so excited for me  then will be heading up to Wally World, Insurance company, Vet and what not. May be rain later today, so good day to do this stuff. Plus have appt.s next two days, so time to "get er done".

Today is also the day, hopefully that both my friend and I are supposed to find out about our respective TT deals. She the price for her old one and final price for new one. Me the arrival date of the one I am interested in. My friend is hopin she can come back kup this coming weekend with hers, but will see what happens. She's been cleaning and "unpersonalizing" it since she went home on Sunday and has it ready to go.

Really enjoyed my visit with Judy yesterday. We yakked up a storm about everything and anything and looked at some of the pictures of the parks she will be staying in on her future adventures coming up. Took the dogs for a couple of walks. I think they enjoyed the day too, being out in the fresh air. Tessa even ate some of her dinner for a change, so must have gotten a little appetite being out all day. And Judy was the most gracious host, fixing a late lunch for us. Made the most luscious and delicious blueberry dessert too :P

Ava, I can feel the excitement in your getting ready to head on the road. It's been a long time coming and even though you won't be traveling with your 5er, you are still on the road none the less. Red, hope you enjoyed your "camping trip" in your drive. You really do need to get out on the road, I can sense it. Mitch, I love your little TT too, but no dealers around this part of the state who carry them. So..... I'm happy with what I found. Especially it being a double deal with two of us buying at the same time.

Was going to spend a week up in Michigamme where I was last December for a month, but since all the parks around, are booked in for 4th of July, decided to head up there then instead. Should be fun as Michigamme has a lot of things going on then including fireworks. Then can spend next month outfitting new rig if I get it then and maybe take a "shakedown cruise".

Well, sitting here yakking, isn't getting my house cleaned, nor me off to town, although I would rather sit and yak with all you wonderful ladies out there. But must with you all a Wonderful day instead and off I go.

It's raining here today....so we've planned an "in" day....Our family "Low Country Boil" went well on Sunday....lots of food and re- connecting with extended family members....yesterday, Spinner was my "hero" by protecting me from an aggressive "Rottie" who owner doesn't think his dog needs to be leashed or tied out.....just walking by and out she ran at us.....we're both fine...no injuries, but now we know for sure Spinner will protect his Mommy-dog no matter what...since we couldn't find the CG owners yesterday, Ernie's reporting the guy and his dog today....and last, but not least, it's day 1 on the nicotine patch.....prayers, encouragement, and support from all sectors is welcome... ;) Hope I can do it this time....

Okay, am stopping now cause I don't know how long the signal will stay with me to post....

Have a great day, all....

Morning all. Forgive me if this goes on too long, but it's the first time I've had wifi in days. Like most campgrounds we do have wifi but the more campers we have the less wifi there is to go around. And we were at capacity this weekend. No need even trying to log on (altho I did a couple of times) and besides I was so tired I pretty much put a movie on and fell asleep watching. Now that we have only 20 campers in the park it feels like a luxury to linger on the net.

In a previous post I expressed doubts about staying here. I sat down with the manager and expressed my feelings with her. Turns out I was not the mutineer on her stay. I guess she had a discussion with the assistand mgr because things have changed. It's still not a pefect job, but I feel better about staying here. now. Also kind of have to stay near since I have an ortho appt in mid June with the VA. My left knee has an injury to the medial meniscus that they are following. They moved me up to a hinged knee brace which means I have a better range of motion now but still have the knee supported. Hoping a month of this "rest" will heal the meniscus without having to scope it later. We'll see. Of course on the weekdays the pool is empty enough for me to get in and flex my knee in the water (weekends would be impossible). And so the saga of my summer goes on. Enough about me.

Lori, I am praying for success for you and the patch. I know it's a hard habit to quit. My little brother is also struggling with quitting. But I know you are a tough lady and when your mind is made up I think for sure it's a done deal!

Hey, it's my day off. I slept late and now I'm heading to the pool for knee flexes. Stay safe everyone.

Oh, Lori, that's scary. I loathe pet owners who don't supervise their pets or train them properly. There's just no excuse for that! I've known Rotties that I really liked, but all of them are a lot bigger than Spinner!

I'm going to see my doctor today for a much-delayed spring checkup, get plates for Ivy, and putter over to university salvage to look for lumber. It's amazing how many college kids leave without dismantling their lofts -- salvage sells off the lumber really cheaply. Of course, it may all be gone by now; local people look out for this sale. Many a child's treehouse has been constructed from old student lofts!

Everybody have a great day.

The fun of living in or near a college town. I bet there are scavengers cruising the street on move out days.

Lori I will be thinking of you. (((hug))) You go girl!

On another subject I still have my calendar out and thinking of PA. I need to e-mail my cousin and find out how welcome I might be to park in his driveway for this summer's reunion. Will of course let you know as soon as I figure out what I am trying to do. :o  For now it is get back to Ohio so that the rig can get dropped off at the RV place for a thorough review of systems and I get ready in time to head off to work again on Thursday. (meaning off to earn some more gas money!) Talking about gas money. For all the hand wringing that some when through a couple weeks ago, I found gas at $3.19/gallon in TN on Memorial Day weekend. :) Prices can rise and prices can fall, but I am still going...

Good morning all. This is second day in a row getting up at 8:00. I sure didn't get much of anything done yesterday. Was still really tired from the holiday weekend. Today I need to go to Walmart to get a few things, then get back to get laundry done. I think I will just take my clothes to the laundry room here since I have so much to do. It was raining last week, so did not get any done.

Gloria and I went to lunch at the Two Frogs Cafe yesterday. Their menu said they had Cajun, New Orleans cooking. It was good, just not Louisiana good. We had the fried crawfish appetizer and both of us were expecting it to have a spicy kick to it. Nope. It was not really seasoned at all. I had the blackened catfish which was supposed to have Cajun seasoning on it. Nope. It was just mostly salty. Gloria had the Rib Eye with crawfish on top. I tasted one of her crawfish. Again, no spices. We both figured if you had never eaten real Louisiana cooking, it would be good, but for those who had, it was not.

Lori, good luck with your patches. I still need to work on quitting too. Just not there yet again. I am proud of you.

Hope everyone has a great day. I will try to check in off and on all day today since I will be doing housework and laundry today.

good morning ladies
busy busy busy but less stressed over "what to do with Pixie" as son agreed it would be better for her
to leave her home and he will take care of her. Being handicapped, this will be better for her.
So now thats decided I can move on cleaning and leave when I get ready.
Good luck to Lori with the patch. I've used the patch over the years to "reduce"
my habit and that worked well for me. I was down to about 6 or 8 cigs a day until they jerked me
around at work.
Enjoy your day and be safe.

I love this "morning coffee"....I'm new on this site, so bear with me.

First off, to the quit smoking gals....do it. It took me four years to quit smoking and now it feels so good to tell the docs, "no, I don't smoke". One also does not have to worry about having cigs and lights when one goes out walking!! So, good luck, and stick with it.

Now when I go out walking, I check to see that I have "poopy bags" and treats for the dog!!! Living downtown there are hundreds of dogs out walking. Most of the owners are responsible citizens and pick up the poop. Only once and a while do I see poop on the sidewalk.

Those dog owners that do not leash their dogs are so annoying. That is a kind word to use. Rotties are good dogs if trained properly. Same with Pit Bulls. We have both downtown walking around. All leashed.

I'm still learning my new camera. I want to put pictures on this site as so many of you have done.

I've gone on one trip with the new truck camper. Have a couple of more planned, short trips prior to my BIG Trip in Sept/Oct.

In Sept I'll be meeting some of you in person!!! HOORAY!!!

I'm off to Wally World today too.....it is "June Gloom" here. No rain, sun in afternoon.

Enjoyed my visit with Sue yesterday. It was sunny and very pleasant since nearly all the campers have gone, so we could take a good walk. I had been hunkered down in my RV for so long because I was really wiped out with this cold. My voice was better this morning, and I survived my first of several student sessions online where they are supposed to give oral presentations, and I need to manage the software, write notes, enter scores in a spreadsheet the advising office gave me to evaluate speaking skills, talk to students, and manage to keep everything going all at the same time.

I need to go out to dump my tanks and I think I will take a drive into Cheboygan and maybe Mackinaw City. It rained last night and is still cloudy and cold today. Not sure where I am going tomorrow, but probably back down to the Detroit area. Leaving on Wednesday means I have missed the holiday traffic.

My sister and I went to Toledo Bend lake for the weekend. The weather was really nice Saturday and Sunday, overcast and not too hot. It made it nice to fish and I didn't get my usual sunburn. Yesterday was too windy so we left early and I made it home before dark. My sister invited a friend from work that has a small boat to come meet us Sunday. The first time Pat went to get out of the boat she fell in the lake. When my son and I use to haul a boat it never failed that I didn't get wet trying to launch or load the boat. I stayed on shore and let them fish from the boat. Her friend was too serious a fisherman. I like to fish but don't like to clean fish so give away more than I keep.

Dawn, I have tried Cajun restaurants away from Louisiana and they are usually a disappointment. I don't even like some of the food in New Orleans. They put tomatoes in some things that we don't. My stomach can't take a lot of tomatoes.

Lori, good luck on quitting. My sister really needs to quit smoking. She always has some kind of respiratory problem going on. Glad you and Spinner didn't get hurt. The people that think their dog doesn't need to be leashed usually have kids that run wild too.

I started washing when I got home yesterday and I'm still washing. I don't know how I can get so many things dirty in 4 days. I have an appointment to get my hair cut in a little while so probably should get moving.

Sue - I see you will be several miles west of me on the 4th of July. I'm going to be in Munising.

Went camping with the DO group this weekend. Lots of good food. Red, you and DH will need to come over one weekend. One couple had an Airstream Class A - I didn't go inside but it was an interesting looking rig from the outside. And that sucker looked so long!

No more camping for me for a couple of months. It's really getting into the hot season, plus I'm going to be in MI the end of June-first of July. Plus I'm going to Atlanta to see the niece in a play the weekend before MI.
