Sunny Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Saturday

Good Morning all,

Beautiful, but a tad chilly morning here. Sunshine is the word of the day.

Bumming around is also on the agenda as well, but at the moment, looks like local area stuff. We had a great day yesterday. Trip to RV dealer followed by short visit with one of my former bosses at her park and a short picnic out in the parks picnic area. Breeze was cool, even in the sun, so we didn't linger a long time. But was fun.

Trip to the RV dealer turned out to be very rewarding. We looked a a few of the smaller TT's they had there, both hybrid and regular TT. The one 19ft one that I liked from a previous trip was sold, but another one coming in shortly. Also looked over a 14ft one which surprisingly has a lot of room for a small TT. My friend has an older model hybrid TT which she has been tossing around selling and lo and behold, she fell in love with a 19ft. Sportsman TT over there and has a small deposit on it to hold it. The dealer is also a buyer and they worked out a deal for them to buy her TT at a good price, contingent on her sending some pictures of it, when she gets home, so he can give her a better idea of how much. But the deal looks good. If it goes as planned, she will bring her TT back up here and when she leaves, will have a new TT, with a couple of modifications she wants done first.

I put a deposit down o n the 14ft despite it having small fresh water and holding tanks, 10 gal fresh water, 9 gal waster water, and 15 gal grey water. It has a dinette and a sofa in it. I can put the dinette down and make a permanent bed in it if I want and use the sofa for sitting and eating etc. I do not need a weight distributing hitch for a trailer this small, but will have a sway control. However, during the night, I was thinking, don't we do out best thinking at night ), about that 19ft one and I th's in FL one would be the better way to go. Not only does it have larger capacity tanks, it also has a queen bed with nightstand up front, a complete pass through storage area under the bd, a dinette, full bathroom and loads of inside storage. It weighs about 1000 more than the 14 but would have a weight distribution hitch and is still 1000 pounds under my tow vehicles limit. I think it would be better suited for what I want to do. The 14 would be great for traveling and short type camping trips, but I am hoping to get down to some of those WRV GTG's in FL and would probably stay down there for a while. The 14 might get a little small on a day to day basis, especially if the weather isn't the greatest. So I am thinking of asking if the deposit can be switched over to hold the 19ft. instead. I am also a bit concerned about the lack of weight distribution hitch on the smaller trailer putting too much weight on the rear springs of my tow vehicle especially with having to carry stuff in back as well. So will keep you posted.

Hope those of you who are out for the weekend are all settled in place and enjoying good weather and good times. Also hope everyone else enjoys the holiday weekend. Have a wonderful day all.

good morning ladies
got laundry in the works and plans to load up my yarns and take them out to my fifthwheel as I won't be doing
any crochet during the summer. Also need to pick up a few items while I'm there and pay up the space for 3 months.
That way I won't have to worry about it over the summer.
Thats about it from me, so many things on my mind right now and need to get to it.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

I like your thinking about the larger trailer, Sue-----after looking at the pics, I think you would enjoy the bigger one a lot more, especially if the weather turned bad for a while, as you said. I am assuming it has an AC as well as a heater? I really dislike Air conditioning, but let me tell you, the past couple of weeks down here would have been impossible without mine.

I dropped the kids at the Orlando Airport last evening, and they called me at about 1:00 am saying they had landed in CA and were awaiting their baggage. It was good to hear from them. I pick them up a week from today at midnight here, and then I will be free to head north whenever the spirit moves me, either the following day, or the Monday. In the meantime, I will mow this back field for the kids today, and then head home in a couple of days to wrap things up there for the summer. I will need to call the campgrounds to make reservations for a couple of days into the trip, at least. I am planning not more than about 200 miles per day, unless I feel extra ambitious after I get underway. I am in no hurry, really, so might as well enjoy stopping and swimming along the way back.

Time for some more coffee and then some breakfast before I head out to mow. The temperature is a comfy 84 degrees this morning, with low humidity, so it should be a perfect day to get that mowing done.

Hope you all have a fun day wherever you may be.

Good morning all, Sue, the larger TT makes sense for you. It'll be exciting to finally get it and hit the road. I spent most of the day at the dealer. We took delivery of RED in Feb. Apparently the parts arrived over a month ago, but the service rep responsible for completing sales never called. Apparently we were not the only customers waiting for parts that had been ready for a long time. Very frustrating.

We had one success, one failure and one  When we took delivery there was a big gouge in the door that covers the washer and dryer and a big ding in the refrigerator door so they ordered those replacements. Also, a fireplace came with the deal we made. W/D door complete. Refer door?? They had to unbolt the whole thin and bring it out to replace the door!! Then put it back. When I came to see it, there was a ding in the same place as the old door and about 3 more dings than the old door. So, they are ordering another door!!

Then the fireplace. He took it out of the box and ready to install, but it sticks out too far. The tech calls Tiffin and Tiffin says they have never installed one after the factory on our model. No body could figure it ou. So I have the fireplace in the box on the bed now. Dealer and Tiffin are going to figure out if dealer can install it or if it will require a trip to Red Bay, AL.

By 5 pm they now look at my LP system. They close at 6. I had smelled gas and heard a hissing sound when we were at the fairgrounds for the circus. When he looked at it, the diaphragm was broke, it was defective. Could have cause a fire or explosion if not turned off. They did not have the diaphragm in stock :x But 30 min latter got one from a RV place down the road. Got it installed, pressure tested and all the gas appliances ( hot water heater, furnace & stove ) working. However, when the tech came in to check the pressure test, he tripped on the stove top grill he had placed on the floor and a big gouge in the tile floor. So, now one more repair on the list

Then I drove RED home all by myself in Fri evening traffic with the whole world trying to escape for the holiday weekend. Hope everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend. Aloha y'all

Sue, you're getting closer and closer! I'm so excited for you! Red, what frustration with the dealers. They'd better get it done soon.

Ava, "school's out! school's out!" We're singing that around here, too, because Sister #2 is now finished with the semester, and Sister #1 will be done on 17 June. So much fun coming up!

After several weeks of sneezing from allergies, I now have a cold, so am sneezing AND feel miserable! Also just used up my Kleenex so am onto toilet paper until I can get to the store. :(

It is blustery today. Cool, very windy and cloudy. Chance of rain and thunderstorms every day for the next week! I have a feeling the whole summer is going to be like this.

My dad is doing much better at the nursing home now. He is calm and more himself now altho still occasionally confused. We will know more next week about what his future holds as far as the catheter and his feeding tube.

I have today and Monday off. Probably will just lay low today since I don't feel too good. Am hoping I can get to the cemetery on Monday to leave some lilacs at my mom's grave.

Oh! I just saw my first hummingbird at my new feeder! Yay!

Sue, good luck with whatever TT you end up with. I can't wait until I can go looking for one too!

Red, sounds like a comedy of errors going on with your rig! Hope they get it all fixed before they do more damage!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sue, WD hitches can be put on any TV/TT setup. It all depends on the type of hitch you use. I've had the WD hitch transferred from each trailer I've owned -- it's currently on #3 (didn't need it on my pop-up) and still working like a charm.

There was a discussion on RV.net about WD/sway setups (actually, there've been many), and the newest isn't always the best. Some of them have been out for years and are just as effective as the newer ones. So as you're looking at what type you plan to use, don't rule out some of the older, more basic models. And given your TV, I certainly wouldn't be towing without it.

Good morning all:)

Sue, send some of that sunshine this way! Now I know why I haven't been posting: we're into our third day of cold rainy weather, and I'm just darned feeling down! Don't feel like doing a thing, but I have forced myself. Carpet cleaned, .muffins baked, laundrey done. Cripes, on my cell and cursor too sensitive to go back to correct typos :[

Such a fiasco Red! Never thought a NEW mh could have so many issues???? But it sounds like you're becoming quite the seasoned driver :)

Off to force myself to do something! Ah, looks like rain stopped, will take dogs outside for training. Y'all have a great day!

Good Morning. I’m close to finishing my pot of coffee. It looks like we’re going to have a beautiful Saturday for a change and I’m taking advantage of it. I have washed three loads of throw rugs and have them on the line. But of course DH has decided to smoke ribs in his new fancy dancy smoker so the rugs will probably smell like hickory when they are dry. I had hoped to wash all the bedding and line dry it but perhaps that will have to wait until tomorrow when he isn’t smoking something. Radar had a vet’s appointment at 9:00 and we’re home from that…with a lighter purse! Her right eye was all mattered and red yesterday when I came home from work. Luckily they were able to get her in this morning. She has a small growth on her eye lid and Dr. Jeff thinks that is irritating her eye. For now she has to have drops three times a day and if that doesn’t clear it up he will have to remove the growth. She also had her heartworm blood draw, rabies booster and DHLPP booster plus the prescriptions for the drops and the heartworm tabs. Needless to say she isn’t a happy camper right now and will probably be hiding under the bed all day for fear of what might happen next….which will be drops in her eye and to accomplish that it will take both DH and me!
Not much planned for the long weekend. Memorial Day is a bad weekend for us to plan to camp because we have to make reservations for state parks 90 days in advance. So at the end of February we can’t be sure if DH will be done with the planting and be able to take the time off.
Have a great day.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

This is one lousy cold I have--first in over a year. No doubt got it from hanging around my son and the kids. Just when I was feeling better, it got worse.

Sun is out, but it is still cold and most people who are outside are wearing jackets. It is also very soggy with some sites literally having puddles on them in the grass. I am lucky, thanks to Sue, to have one of the few sites with a pad since it is supposed to be a handicap site, but not quite an official ADA site since it is too far from an ADA bathroom. Park is almost full with several unusable sites.

Sue is supposed to stop by on memorial day, but I am chilling out until then. Head is throbbing and just took some Sudafed to try to clear my sinuses. Hope it works.

I know I'm late to the discussion, Sue - but I have a Sportsmen Classic 16BH and have been happy with the trailer. And I wish the 19' had been out when I got mine - I like the walkaround bed. And Mark and I made the trip to AZ in it. Would I FT in it - not me, but there are others on the Sportsmen Classic board who have FT in both the 16 and the 14' trailers. The 14' has more floor space than mine, but I have the totally separate bunk and when soloing can use the dinette as designed. And yes, I have the smaller tanks. We have made it work so far - I'm not afraid to use park facilities - and I have bought a blue tote even though I've never had to use it. When we haul it, it goes in the bathtub for travel.

I do like the looks of the 19' and 20' both.
