Friday start of holiday wkend

Postby carolb » Fri May 24, 2013 5:36 am

Good morning all! :D

Been lazy about posting the past few days  Sue, enjoy that girl, no matter how much time you have left with her. Soos, glad to hear your pooper is feeling better with the meds. Kathleen, what can I say? Shadow has a good home, but a quiet house for you :( JudyB, hope you're over your cold soon...

We're looking at a cool Mem Day weekend here. No big plans except I've been shampooing carpets knowing that I'll be turning the heat back on to help them dry--forecast is for barely 50 degrees today! Anyway, Piper appears to be successfully house-trained--a week of no accidents! :D

Slept through the entire night last night for the first time since having my back problem. Pain-free--feels good! I'll continue with the heating pad treatments & limit my activity to make certain I've got this totally under control. Thanks to those of you who offered advice :)

Y'all have a great day, & as always, safe travels! 8-)

Early start Friday

Postby MelissaD » Fri May 24, 2013 5:38 am

Well the grandbaby who's 27 months decided it was time to GO and was up at 04:30 this morning. She has figured out when she see's the suitcase for the camper it is time to go and starts to get excited. The only problem is we don't plan to leave for the camper until 5pm. :o Got to work.... Never had a child so content to ride in the truck.

Hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday weekend. Remember to tip a glass in memory of those who served.

Good Mornng Melissa,

Ha, well, looks like you got an early start to your day. Don't fall asleep at work now

Early wake up call here this morning too, but a little more realistic, like 5:45 a.m. If you want to call that realistic  Ms. Tessa had to have a potty call and then Ms. Sassy wasn't far behind. So now everybody's medicated and out and back to bed  I've already washed my hair this morning and am waiiting for my friend to get up and then we will fix breakfast.

We went down to Camping World yesterday and browsed the store. I didn't buy anything, but she got one of those little store away hoses in a plastic tub. We also talked with a very knnowledgeable salesman about TT's, weight distribution hitches and so forth. Both of us are towing with vans, well she is, I"m not at the moment. Also looked at a hybrid and a Rockwood Mini Lite while we were there. It was unfortunately raining, so didn't stay out on the lot too long, Not a lot of smaller trailers there anyway. I think today we will venture over to the other dealers that I have been going to and look at some rigs over there.

Ouch Soos, I thought my $220 bills from the vet were high. Hope Molly is getting better. it so hard sometimes to diagnose what their problems are. Ms. Tessa continues to hang in there yet, just taking it day by day here. Now with a holiday weekend coming up, we will just see how it goes. She still has energy and is going for walks and wading in the lake. And yesterday was being pure develish after we got home from our day. They of course stayed home waiting for us to return. But it was she who bugged to go for a walk. But things can change all of a sudden.

Judy, I hope you are feeling better this morning, so you can make your move up to Aloha. And the weather forecast looks favorable. Fortunately you will be in the sun there, so it should be warmer and the trees behind will cut that afternoon sun if it gets too warm. Not sure when I will get up there as yet. Friend says although she would like to meet you, if you are getting a cold, she would rather not at this time. So we shall see. I do plan to come up on Monday for sure.

Well, guess that's all on this front for now. I know some of you are heading out for the long weekend and wish you all a great time. The rest of us willl patiently await hearing how it all went. Drive safe and enjoy.

Sarah and I are packing up and getting ready to drive over to northwestern TN to spend Memorial Day weekend at the Blue Marlin Resort with Mitch. There may be less water but there will also be less wild children riding the bikes through campsites just for fun. :? The birthday party with 13 thirteen year olds was luckily only a one day thing! Sarah was the closest neighbor that that!

We are still hoping that Carol will be able to continue on over after getting her rig checked out at an RV place in Cookville. Some outcomes are out of our control but we are keeping fingers and toes crossed. :) (Now try driving with fingers crossed...)

Time to hook up the Honda and head over to the dump station.

OHBOY - I get to cook for people again!! Don't do that so much any more since G died. Today is his 82nd birthday, so we'll raise a glass to him this evening.

Since I had to get rid of the pool and ticki hut, The Blue Marlin Resort has changed its name to The Blue Marlin B&B...I was going to get a kiddie pool for this weekend, but I figure I can just as easily squirt a hose in their direction...

Travel safe getting here, ladies. CArol, hope you get to make it!! Who else is going to kick our butts at Wii???

Good morning everyone. Drove RED over to the dealer all by myself this morning. They are installing g the fireplace that came with the purchase and replacing the refrigerator door and the door that covers the washer and dryer. Both had dings when we took delivery. DH will come over soon and we will go to the convention center for the Comic Convention. Always wanted to go to a comicon!! Should be fun. Then back to pick up RED. I hope!!

DH wants to have something done to the struts which means we will probably go to Red Bay, AL to the Tiffin center. Not sure how that is going to affect our plans to head north for summer trip.

Everyone have a great dayand stay safe.

. . . home again, home again, jiggity jog

That's us. The William got so excited when we came within a mile of home last night! :) Today he's really tired, but he's having a good time saying hello to everybody who passes by. Good thing we got back now; the temp plates expire next week, so I have a trip to the DMV coming up.

We had a great time cruising up the Blue Ridge, and now I know a lot more about how Ivy travels. Many plans!

For this weekend, just hanging out with Sister Number Two, her husband, and the kids. So good to see them again!

Everybody have a good weekend -- safe and happy.

Back at the trailer after dropping the kids at the Orlando Airport for a coast-to-coast flight to visit Melissa's sister's family and then they will rent a car and tour Yosemite for a few days. I told them I will pick them up at midnight a week from tomorrow night, and then, after one day of rest for us all, I will haul my self north on Monday---weather permitting. After this heat of the past few days, I will be so excited to get back to temps in the 30s at night!

Just turned off the AC in this trailer as now there is a nice little breeze and the temperature has dropped to 84 outside. Sure hope that breeze sticks around for a while.

Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
