Sunshine Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunshine Tuesday

Postby Colliemom » Tue Apr 16, 2013 7:38 am

Morning everyone,

Woke up to beautiful blue sky and sunshine this morning. No clouds, no rain, no snow, no sleet, no....... Just the promise of a beautiful day. Temps are going to be above normal till Friday, so the snow pack is melting away slow but sure.

Not much on my agenda here today except the exciting stuff like doing a little house cleaning, some touch up painting and finishing my lawn ornament repainting projects. Really thrilling stuff you know, Should be something more exciting like going RV hunting and such, but..

Actually my pelvis got out of place again over the weekend, and chirporactor put it back. Suggested I wear my back brace to bed and maybe it would help keep it in place, cause it seems to move aruond when I am sleeping. Muscles in that area are not quite relaxed enought to hold those bones where they belong yet. Getting there slow but sure. Need to get into some work around here and especially outside, for them to strengthen up. So I think i will wait till tomorrow before the dogs and I venture out for a ride and some exploring to the north a bit.

Dawn, sounds like you have a great spot where you are not and are really going to set up camp for both you and the dogs. Glad there are enought hosts to cover all 9 campgrounds. That's crazy when people just pull out in the middle of the night. They should at least have the courtesy to let the campground rangers know of thier intentions before leaving, or maybe they do and just don't bother telling anybody else.

Carolb, another leg of your journey toward home has begun. Have fun, enjoy and drive safe.

Beth, looks like you are going through all 4 seasons without even leavng the campground  Time has gone by so fast that I had forgotten it was time for you to start heading north to AK again. When do you have to be up there?

T, today's the day. Bet your mom is really sitting on pins and needles. But if all goes well, she will have her new rig by nightfall and then the education lesson begins :)

Nothing else to report here. So will wish you all a wonderful day, no matter what you are doing. Drive safe if on the road, or just enjoy your surroundings no matter where you are and hopefully nobody's in the path of any more really severe weather.

Good morning all. It is warm and muggy today. I was down Sun and Mon with some kinda tummy bug. Couldn't get too far from the potty room  Feeling better this morning and need to get caught up on my projects and get ready for upcoming events. My cousin will be in Dallas this weekend. So I am driving up Friday and coming back Sat. We will move RED down to the fair ground on Sunday. Our friends from MO are coming down and will house sit while they visit relatives. We will be clowning around for the kids at the Shrine Circus most of next week. It is really fun being a clown. The kids love it and ask for your autograph.

I'm gonna go make some Cream of Wheat and see how that settles. Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha

Cloudy this morning with strong wind and storms predicted for both here and in STL. The friend I was going to visit called and said I should think about coming another time as storms and possible tornadoes in their forecast for tonight. So I just cancelled my doctors appointment and will regroup. At least I am road ready so may take Toby for an overnight. I had a moldy mess to clean up in my storage are where my electric cord and sewer hose are stored. It was damp with condensation all over and the carpet was damp. Not sure if rain is getting in or what. It looks like a sealed area and there was no smell like gas or anything. I'm glad I had screwed the ends of my water hose together.
Now to decide what to do today, there is always a dog that needs grooming or floors to dust but I was planning to play :( Maybe after my third breakfast course I can decide.
Sue I wish you were here for our yoga class, we work a lot on strengthening our core muscles and that sounds like it would help your back. I am so glad to have a yoga instructor that is so well trained. We do things like working on making the muscles around the knee strong to prevent or help heal injury. Also we focus on balance and keeping our ankles flexible. At least half of the class we are seated in a chair so just about anyone can do the movements. The important thing is she is trained on how to get into positions to avoid doing any injury, something a lot of yoga instructors are just not trained well enough to do.
Carold be sure to watch the weather, you may want to stay put until after tomorrow to let the storms move out of STL.

I had a 380 miles/10 hour drive yesterday, with brief stops for propane, gas, and groceries. Drove all the way from Myrtle Beach to Hatteras Island on Cape Hatteras. Rain and wind made going over the very long bridges a bit scary, but I made it OK. (I know, I drove way too long!)

I am the only person staying in this commercial campground because they are really not open, but the reservation lady a couple of days ago said I could stay as long as I was self-contained and did not need to use the bathrooms or showers because it was being torn apart and completely renovated. The owners on site were a bit surprised to see me, but they set me up in a site for four days. Still a bit strange, but I certainly can't complain about any weird neighbors! Safe because owners live here also. This is an older park with new owners, but the sites are asphalt (though just wide enough for vehicle) with nice grass between sites and it has E&W or full hookups and is reasonably priced. When they are done with the laundry and bath facilities, they are going to replace the very rusted water faucets.

I was really impressed, even through the rain and mist, how beautiful and large this area is. I need to spend today doing some work and straightening up some financial things, but tomorrow I will go out and explore the National Seashore and lighthouse. I did not realize how off-season this is here. The hotels are empty and the lighthouse does not even open for climbing until Friday. As long as there are dunes and beaches to walk, and I have satellite and cell service, I am extremely happy!!

Sun has come out and supposed to be high of 68, so should be good day.

Sounds great Judy. Truthfully, I don't think I would want to be there "in" season. I traveled to the Outer Banks one February. I think Hatteras is one of those popular places that attract large crowds and I am not a fan of large crowds if I can avoid them. :?

I agree Tina, but when the national park campgrounds are not yet open and the lighthouse does not open for climbing until Friday, that is a problem. Even the private campground I am in is not really open yet as they are rebuilding their bathrooms. Last night I was the only one here and they did not seem happy to see me because they were not ready. I do see a tent and one other RV here now, though, so maybe they opened up a toilet or two!
