Cold Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cold Thursday

Postby Dawn309 » Thu Apr 11, 2013 6:47 am

Good morning everyone!

I cannot believe I am posting before Carolb. We had a really great time talking and laughing after supper last night. I think I am keeping her up later than she is normally up, so she may still be asleep. It's just 33 degrees outside this morning. Paul says he is going to unlock the gate this morning. Bless his heart. His Gator does not have a windshield, so I know he will be cold doing it. I am thinking about taking my car to go check/clean the bathrooms. When I get back, I need to get the dishes done from last night. Shame on me! After Carolb left, I took my meds and went to bed shortly after. I need to go to the Farmer's Market to get green and red bell peppers for tonight's supper. I will see if Carolb wants to go with me. It may be sometime this morning or early afternoon when I go.

Well, I had better get dressed to go do the bathrooms. Then can get back to do dishes and start breakfast.

Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good Morning from the wintery 45th,

Yep, that crazy storm is affecting us in northern Michigan too. Early in the wee hours of the morning yesterday, we had Thundersnow which dumped about 2-4 inches of very wet heavy snow here as well. Needless to say, turned the roads into slushy messes which made driving very treacherous. And of course I had to go out early to take Ms. Tessa to doggie spa and myself into Chiropractic office for a massage on my back. Made it though. My Flex is all wheel drive and has done a tremendous job of getting through everything winter has thrown at us. Today it's supposed to be a wintery mix follow by some snow overnight. Maybe 2-4 inches here and more over to the northeastern areas and the eastern U.P. Oh well, it's good for agriculture, the forests and lakes after two winters of hardly any precipitation. As is, this is actually typical for here this time of year.

Carolb, you are really rolling on along toward home. Probably better you stay where you are, till this storm head out into tha Atlantic. I'm sure it's going to be nasty up your way and across the OH valley. Judy, same for you. Enjoy where you are for awhile and stay put. Thanks for those beautiful pictures. You certainly are enjoying your life on the road and seeing so many things.

Lori and Ernie, Happy Birthday to you two. Hope you have a fabulous lunch today.

As for me, I am going ot paint my other bathroom. Need to make quick run to hardware store first and then will come home and get busy. After waking up to the white stuff yesterday morning, it's hard to believe that I was out raking my backyard the day before and actually managed to get amost of the debirs from the winter storm in December raked up into three piles to pick up later. So have a start there.

So, time to get busy here. May have to stop and let an applicance repair man into neighbors house to fix fridge. They are in FL and will be home in two weeks. Also keeping an eye on friends motel and taking in mail while they are gone on vacation for 10 days. So lots of little things to do to keep me entertained. Still in the RV hunt, but can't do much till weather breaks. Think it might be more ofa TT in my future due to the expenses of having an MH instead.

So you all have a wonderful day out there cause it sure sounds like there is some fun going ot be had. Everybody else, just hunker down and wait out mom nature. Stay safe.

Good morning?? The saying goes April showers bring May flowers. But April snow??? Is this normal?? I used to love spring skiing, but that was in March. Ski resorts were usually closing down by now. So I guess the ski resorts must benefit from all this. However not so much fun for the everyday citizens. It rained all night here and is now 39.

I am trying to get these projects done so I might be able to drive up to OK for the weekend. Also have to get my car serviced. Everyone stay warm and safe. Aloha

Good morning all! It is overcast and kind of cold here today. Remember skiing at Northstar on Mother's Day one year. The sun was shining and it was beautiful.

Between 5:30 a and 11 a we got socked with 10 inches of heavy wet snow. I canceled an appointment that was 20 miles away. Don't know if I have had to cancel because of a storm in April in the past. the last 3 days have been dark, gloomy and windy. Each day the forcast has been for snow. Waiting for the storm to hit was beginning to get depressing. I am so ready for spring. This has been a long winter. My sister sent me some material that has lovely streaks of steel blue, pink and green. I spent the last two days making tote bags. Since we use the campsites showers I needed a large tote to put my clothes/towels in when walking back and forth. Today (after getting taxes completed) I will make two more. One for each sister. We all have vintage trailers and I know they will make use of the totes too. Breezie refuses to go outside this morning. "Not me, I will wait for spring" is the look she gives me. Ozzie (tabby cat) is snuggled in his bed and Belle (calico) went outside and hide under the van waiting for the day she imained it was when she wanted out. now she is in and snugled into the corner of the couch. I bought some coconut cream coffee grounds the other day. We make the coffee then add some hot cocoa mix and some artificial creamer to each cup. Taste likes a Mounds bar. Satisfies my craving for chocolate. We've already had breakfast, but you're welcome to help yourself to coffee and cookies for a mid morning snack.

Good afternoon
Haven't been posting much as nothing to report.
Under a tornado watch until 7 PM. Near constant rolling thunder has long ago sent Nicky into hiding. One positive side effect of the wind/rain might be some clearing of the extremely high levels of pollen we've had lately.
Did get e-mail from nephew in law (he is the one who found out wife pregnant just before his father passed away while I was in FL). They just found out that the twins are a boy and girl. Both are delighted with the news.
Still no word from accountant on my taxes. Sure am hoping he does not have to fill for extension; I want it over.
Weather is rapidly getting worse now, probably good idea to get off the computer. Tornado watch just went to a warning. Will try to check back in later tonight.
The only major handicap in life is a bad attitude!

Sarah, hope you and Wendy don't have any bad weather. Seems like tornadoes like your area. The line of rain passed us with not much rain, the sun is out and it's warming back up. The wind has calmed down a lot from yesterday.

My taxes might be ready tomorrow but we overpaid so they can file an extension. I'll see about it when I get back.

I am way late on here but too early to start tomorrow's MC post.

Woke up at 4am with sleet hitting my bedroom window. That lasted an hour before it turned over to snow. Ended up with about 8 inches of the heavy wet stuff here. The roads were pretty slippery so I had to use my 4WD. There is snow in the forecast every day for the next 7 days here! When will it ever end??

It was to be my day off today but because of the storm overnight and this morning, I got called in first thing this morning, since one stylist wasn't able to make it in. Only worked a couple hours tho. Then I got a call at work from a guy who was referred to me from my vet. He needed someone to take his ferret for a month or so until he found a new place to live. So I went and picked up the ferret this afternoon. He is a very large ferret named Cocoa (same coloring as Chelsea). He has no toys and no hammock or bed, even tho he has a very large cage, (guess who is going shopping soon?! :D ). I showed him some of Chelsea's toys and he loved them! He is a very sweet playful ferret but he tends to nip at me if I go to pick him up without talking to him first. I discovered if I say "no" he seems to understand that and then doesn't try to nip. So it shouldn't be too hard to get him out of that habit. Probably just need to get him to trust me. He met Lola and just ignored her so that was good. Haven't introduced him to Chelsea yet. Will wait awhile on that until I am sure that they will be OK together.

Hope you all had a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
