Good morning, all. A lot of you must either be on the road or REALLY be sleeping in!

I'm in Hunting State Park in SC, working my way slowly north to Michigan for appointments. Very quiet out of the way place here with a very nice beach--very shallow, especially at low tide, for kids to play. Walked down to the lighthouse on the beach yesterday and climbed up to the top. Tide coming in so it was a little tricky getting back without getting more than feet wet. Here are some photos:

Love that tree with the tide coming in! Going for a long bike ride today to the nature center. Can ride on the beach at low tide, but think I will stick to roads. Heading to Myrtle Beach tomorrow.

Good Morning! My second day in a row at home. It’s an absolutely lovely day in South Dakota! It’s 23* and still getting hammered with ice pellets. (No capris and tank tops for me, Lori!) The heavy wet snows are supposed to start early this evening. The power was off from about 1:00 this morning until about an hour ago. It was getting a little chilly in the house, so right now I have the furnace cranked up to get the house into sauna type temps in case the power goes again. It’s flickered off and on quite a bit. After the third time, I have a promise to myself that I will not reset every clock in the house until the storm is completely over. I was is desperate need of coffee first thing morning so I grabbed a pitcher of water, threw on my coat and tramped out to the 5er planning to perk some coffee on the gas stove. There were definitely a few choice words uttered when the door was frozen shut. Diet Coke just doesn’t cut it for me in the morning! Late last fall I had bought some solar lights on clearance and had put them on a shelf in the garage. This morning I went out and took them out of the box assembled them and they are now charging (hopefully) in front of the patio windows. If the power goes out tonight I can use them instead of candles. The power has been off at the farm since about noon yesterday and we’re in the middle of calving season so the generator that we have for our house being is being used there. I have doubts if DH will be coming home tonight. He’ll probably stay at the farm and help Ryan through the night. Radar and I will be hunkering out the rest of the storm by ourselves!

Enjoy the day everyone! I’m getting cabin fever!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

I wish I could sleep in. My DH got me up to bring him to pick up his truck. Then I went to Walmart, post office, bank and another grocery store. I'm trying to get all my errands run so I can go to my sister's on Friday. Wish the tax people would call.

Carolb, you might as well stay in Oklahoma instead of heading North. The weather doesn't look too good. The wind is really blowing again today. It's beating my roses up. Last night it sounded like it was going to take the roof off. I feel like I might end up in Kansas if I go outside.

Judy, that's a beautiful beach where you are.

Pat, hope you don't lose electricity again. That is not good weather for calves to be born in. I'm glad we're out of the cow business again but that doesn't seem to last.

Hi everyone, boy is this weather crazy or what? I was outside and it was warm and humid and within a few minutes it clouded up, turned black, and a chilly wind started blowing. Had to change from capris and t shirt to jeans and sweater. I had to drive down to Katy to pick up some parts for my car and got caught in a down pour. So stopped and took myself out to,lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. But I'm glad we're not having the snow and weather happening up north. Everyone stay warm and safe.

It was great to catch up with Dawn and Carol on FaceTime this morning. I really wish I could come up to visit. Who knows??? I have a project I have to finish and will see how DH is doing from his surgery. You never know, but it is a 6 hr drive. We'll see :P
