Sunny Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Sunday

Postby Dawn309 » Sun Apr 07, 2013 6:17 am

Good morning everyone. I haven't been on the internet much since getting here at Lake Murray State Park. My day starts around 6:30 to make sure gate is open and then check/clean my bathrooms. I stay busy until about 6:30 - 7:00 in the evenings. By the time I get my paperwork done for the day, it is usually around 8:30 when I fix something for dinner so I haven't been on the internet much. I have only had 1 day off since I got here and I spent that day driving back to TX to get my car inspected. I found out I could not get my tags except through the county I reside in. Since my residence is Livingston, TX, I called that courthouse. I can mail them all the paperwork to get my tags. I will be getting that ready for the mail tonight. I am supposed to be off Monday's and Tuesday's and hopefully, no one will be sick so I can start taking my days off.

I sure do miss seeing what everyone is doing each day. I am working on getting my schedule where I can spend some time in the rig through the day. I have so much housework to catch up on along with catching up on all of you.

I love this SP. This lake is a beautiful blue/green color because it is a spring fed lake. There are no rivers that flow into it so it stays really clear. I am really at peace here. This is where Chuck and I came at least once every year and we tried to come more often. I feel really close to him here. I am hoping to get to stay here for at least a year. That will give me time where I am not draining my savings until I can get Widow's Benefits.

Carolb, I would love to see you again on your way East. This is Lake Murray State Park in the south, central part of OK. It is right off I-35. Beginning the 15th of this month, I will be in the Elephant Rock CG. Until then, I am in the Tipps Point CG. Sarah, Bluepinecones, sent me a PM to let me know you where looking for me.

I sure hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

good morning ladies
Dawn, your working too hard, you need more relax time :D would not want to see you get sick.
Maybe they need more help. But its good to see your post.
Currently, its 59 degrees and suppose to get into the mid 80's today, that will be very pleasant.
Finally did my taxes last evening, seems like the end figure was too high so I did them again.
Still came out high, will get all the figures put on the tax form today and get it ready for the
mail. Should get a nice deposit in my bank account about the time I'm getting my last check of
the school year. :D
The girls are doing fine, Pixies cancer looks much better today, will have to get her into the vet
and have him look at it, maybe there is still hope for the little girl.
Fresh coffee is in the pot and and there are bananas for breakfast. Adding a bowl of cereal to
my banana..... :D yum.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

Good Morning Dawn and all who follow,

So good to hear from you Dawn. Sounds like you are really busy and also enjoying the park as well. So glad that you feel at home there. Hopefully you will get your schedule worked out so you will have your days off and also time to be in your rig also. I've had jobs where my days off have gone out the window too casue somebody was sick or something, so i know well how that goes.

It's a rain/snow mix morning here and a bit chilly. Winter wasnts to keep hanging on here, but it's okay in that the snow is melting slowly into the ground this year and not melting away all at once. Maybe this year, nature will take her natural flow of things and let the earth come awake like it should. Last years hot weather in March melted the snow, got the trees and eveyrthing budding and blossoming and then we got hit with a cold snap and froze everything. No apples, no cherries, no nothing.

I've been busy startng some spring cleaning here in my house. Have two bedroom done and of course just painted my living room and hallway, so they are done as well. Must be careful as to not upset the balance of thngs with my back right now. Actually the problem I have is more in my pelviss area. Our bodies as we know are a very complex system of bones, muscles, nerves, blood vessels etc. It's those muscles that keep our bones in place. In my case right now, my muscles around my pelvis are are still strained from that injury I did in February and are not holding my pelvis in line like they should. So until they do, I need to have Chiropractic adjustments to keep the pelvis in place. I'm also getting nice massages which are going a long way to helping too. Just need to be casreful and not over do it, ha. Easier said than done for me. I do need to do somethings though in order to stretch the muscles and help them heal.

I am looking forward to the warmer weather so i can get out and enjoy it. I do have sme projects for my yard this summer, but I plan plenty of play time too. I'm hoping to be able to get some kind of RV so I can take off for a few days at a time and camp and sightsee. Have my eye on an MH right now, but am thinking in terms of costs, another TT might be better for me. Once the weather breaks, then I will get out and go looking. Got weight restrictions here, so can't grab just anything that catches my fancy. Budget restrictions too. But it sure feels good to be looking and dreaming again.

Well, I need to get this day started, so wishing you all a Happy Sunday.

Good morning Dawn and Ava Nd all to come. Dawn, it is good to see you back on MC and I really loved our time together last month. You ARE working to many hours for a "part time" job with only a parking spot in return. Lake Murray is really pretty and I hope to get there again before it gets too darn hot.

Today is sunny and beautiful and the temps will be high 70s. Good day for being outside. I need to get in RED and clean from last trip and get ready for next. RED will go to the Shrine circus as our home base at the end of April. The weekend of 20 th I'm driving up to Dallas to gtg with one of my cousins that will be there for a conference. Wish I could take RED instead of a hotel, but we need a car to use for site seeing, so I'll drive regular car :P

Yesterday I asked DH to go for a drive in RED cuz it was such a beautiful day and I wanted practice. He told me to just go. He doesn't think I need practice because he thinks I'm more comfortable driving her than he is. Probably true. So today, I'll probably take her out for a spin and them practice parking her.

Everyone have a nice day. Stay safe.

HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYBODY!

Great to get a post from Dawn at last, and yes----you are most certainly working too hard. Let's hope your days off become a reality soon!

Got my taxes finished, filed, e-filed, it is done and I feel good about that. My checking account is poorer for having paid what I owe this year. But the worry about doing it is over, and that is a good thing!

Warm and sunny here at the trailer again today, and a wonderful day to be out. I might take the dogs to the St. Cloud waterfront for a walk along the lake today. Wish I had my bike here so Melissa and I could take a spin....I will pick it up when I go home again.

Hope everyone is having a fun time wherever you may be.

Happy travels!

Dawn, I knew you were burning the candle at both ends. You are working too hard but being in a place you love and have many wonderful memories with Chuck is a big plus.
Ava, I too just got my taxes done...I have to use an accountant because of having a business but I've sold it so next year it should be much simpler and I hope to start doing them myself...I must have missed an earlier post about Pixie...is this skin cancer? Good to hear it looks better...Rudy chewed on a place on his foot for several weeks. The only thing that would stop him was Tea Tree Oil..it's a good antiseptic and he hates it so it is now finally healing...I have been concerned that it might become cancerous.
Sue, glad to hear you are finally getting some relief from your back. I might have to visit a chiropractor soon too. When I fell in February, landing so hard on my face has also caused a problem in my neck..it pops and snaps but thankfully there isn't too much pain but I realize it could get worse if I don't get it adjusted. I'm glad you are having thoughts of an RV again. If you got a small Class C you could pull your car maybe..I'm not sure if your car is set up for this or not. Anyway, a trailer is what you had before and you can also get a vehicle that will pull it.
Red, I believe I see a solo trip to a gtg soon...I suspect the travel bug hasn't bitten DH as much as you...remember you can drive up to Greers Ferry Lake and have a mini gtg with me anytime. We have some beautiful parks and the lake is gorgeous.
CarolB, I think I remember you are East Bound. If you find yourself close to my neck of the woods...Greers Ferry Lake in Heber Springs, AR about 60 miles due N of Little Rock give me a holler.
Soos, like I mentioned earlier I too have my taxes done and also have to write Uncle Sam a check but he doesn't get it until April 15th. I have missed many posts over the past 2 months...will you still be in FL for the birth of new grandchild and do you know what it is?
I am now back in my house. I have made some changes both inside and out. I'm enjoying working in my yard...right now I'm trying to decide on where to put a firepit. I have so many bricks left I think I can do the firepit and still build a couple of planters or columns for lights at driveway. Doug (db) is very handy and he will do the work outside. With my pond, I have decided to not have fish, just plants in it. I just emptied it (used a hose since it's downhill) and cleaned out all the leaves from last fall. It's nice and clear, the frogs are back which I love and the waterfall is beautiful. I think I mentioned that my house didn't show much over the winter, probably a half dozen times at most. I have had 2 of them drive up wanting to see it again. I knew I had to make my decision before spring and I'm so glad I took it off the market. Next weekend I will pull the trailer down to a nearby park, do the whole thing by myself or that is the plan. Tony (ds) will be as close as the phone to come save me if I have a problem. After this I should be off and running..travel is definitely still in my future.
It's a beautiful day and I'm about to get out and rake the leaves that got trapped inside the fence, will bag them until a good day for burning them. I had good soil brought in and put in a corner inside the fence, about 20' sq, big enough for tomatoes, peppers, yellow squash and okra..yum yum

Enjoyed watching a lot of people leave this morning. At least the noisiest ones with the most kids are gone, I assume because school starts again tomorrow.

I rented a golf cart yesterday for two days because there is no car rental agency around here and the island is too big for a bike--or at least too big for ME on a bike. This way I can get around and see things while having the luxury of leaving my motorhome in one place. However, I DID run out of juice yesterday, and barely limped into a hotel that had a charging station. I will be more careful today and recharge halfway through.

I spent most of yesterday in the historic area, taking a tour in a tram and then visiting the sea turtle sanctuary and watching them feed the sea turtles. Today, I will explore beaches and the rest of the place. It is supposed to be 73 and sunny.

Fixed myself some sausage and crepes for breakfast this morning. I had a jar of ligonberries from IKEA I had been carting around for 9 months and put some of them on top of the crepes--delicious.

Dawn, good to see a post from you. They are definitely working you too hard. Speaking of car inspections, I just remembered that my van's expired in March. I better check my motorhome. I can't keep all our junk inspected. The neighbor wanted to borrow the stock trailer and wanted to know where the inspection sticker was. I laughed and laughed. It was lucky it had a current license.

I finally got my tax papers together to bring tomorrow. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. They aren't going to be happy with me when I tell them I'm leaving on Friday so if our return isn't ready they will have to file an extension. I was only missing one paper and I picked it up Friday.

It has finally warmed up into the 70's again. The forecast says 81 on Wednesday and 68 and rain on Thursday. I want to move my tree back outside but I'm afraid we might have another cold snap.

Good morning/afternoon everyone,
Dawn, I join the others in being happy to hear from you & yes, they are working you too hard... but glad you enjoy being there.
Looks like its tax time.... I did mine - I'm always paranoid, checking & checking before I submit them, making sure I have all supporting docs where I can locate them in the future, just in case... ;) Will review them 1 more time today & then submit mine & do daughter's.
Took the pups for a ride in the travelin' van this morning- Sierra loves to go, getting up on the seat as soon as she's in so she can see where we're going.. Sadie stays on the floor. She doesn't seem to be scared, just feels that's her place. :? They are quite a handful outside but took them on a walking trail in the woods - we all enjoyed it! They're puckered out now & sleeping. Hopefully I'll get a little work done in the yard today - rain predicted for the next few days.
Nancy, thanks for mentioning the tea tree oil. Sierra has been messing with one spot on her front leg for a few weeks now. I'll clean it up (if she lets me) & put some on it. Sounds like you're getting your house & yard back in order... I'm sure you'll enjoy the outing with your trailer next week. Looked up Greers Ferry Lake - looks beautiful! Would be a great place for a GTG - and only 6 hours away from me. :D
Red, hope you do take big RED out for a run... each time will get more & more comfortable. :)
Carolb, let me know yewr route - maybe I can meet up with you along the way - or if you route thru KC, got a place in the driveway for you & the price is right!
Well, better get moving... hope everyone enjoys the day!
