Costco Offering Sea Eagle 365 Kayak Online

For anyone interested, I just got the latest Costco online ad and they're offering the Sea Eagle 365 kayak for $199. Comes with 2 paddles, 2 inflatable seats, and a foot pump. Carries 3 people or 650 lbs. The kayak itself weighs 32 lbs. This isn't the one I got but I think several ladies have Sea Eagles and may be able to recommend it and/or give some input.

This is one of their entry level kayaks. It does look as if they have made some improvements that make the design more attractive. For someone who doesn't really know if they may use a kayak a lot or doesn't have a bunch of experience or just knows that their body needs to slow down.....this one would be a great and affordale way to get out on the lakes and streams and have fun. It will have a lot of that stability over the hard sided kayaks that some of us love. I don't know which seats Costco is offering with their deal. There are some very inexpensive white canoe seats that Sea Eagle sells with some of their packages that don't get very good reviews. The larger inflatable seats that Sandy and I have with our Sea Eagles are more comfortable.

I always wondered how comfortable the smaller seats were. I like to have more support for my back so would probably want the bigger seats.

There are some very inexpensive white canoe seats that Sea Eagle sells with some of their packages that don't get very good reviews. The larger inflatable seats that Sandy and I have with our Sea Eagles are more comfortable.

For what it's worth, the ad does say "inflatable seats."

I also looked back on the Sea Eagle and the inflatableboats4less websites. I think this version may have been manufactured specifically for Costco. if you try to look it up on line you are referred to a product connected to Costco. It is a version of the Sea Eagle 370 only for less money ....it would not be that difficult to upgrade the seats....

My kayak, by advanced elements, doesn't have the inflatable seats, but I don't need it - as the bottom is really, really comfortable. In some of the boats I would need that seat to sit up high enough (I'm short, remember). I did buy a stadium seat so that I had more back support - as that's what I wanted the most. I don't sit on it, but put it behind me and get more back support. Liz had one that was a seat and back support, but when I went to Walmart (that's where she bought hers) after not finding that one in a couple stores, thought I don't really need that and bought just the seat. I know also sometimes use that seat behind my back in my rig ...

Some more thoughts on the Sea Eagle kayak...I have had mine on the water about six times now and still love it. As I see it, the decision on which of the Sea Eagle kayaks to purchase should probably be made considering how much you plan to use it. I paid top dollar for the 386 ft because I knew I would use it continuously over a long period of time. If you purchase the less expensive model and find the seat is not comfortable, you can always purchase the upgraded seat separately.

I was looking at kayak seats that are available at Bass Outdoor Shop and they looked pretty comfortable. Price for the seat was in the $60 range.

Whatever brand or model kayak you select, the most significant feature for me has been the fact it's inflatable and easy enough for one person to use alone. If you can't transport the kayak, can't get it into and out of the water alone without help from a second person, you may never be able to use it.

I ended up getting an Advanced Elements kayak. I did upgrade to a seat that has inflatable lumbar support and it really makes a difference. Also, after my maiden voyage, I decided I really needed a kayak cart since normally I wouldn't have anyone to help. Yesterday I tried inflating the kayak just as I would (only in my garage) and then attached the cart. What a difference! It has two wheels and goes under the front 1/4 of the kayak and has a strap that goes around to keep it secure. Then I just picked up the other end by the handle on the kayak and was able to walk all around, turn, etc. I could practically move it holding by a couple fingers. Now I'm not concerned about those times when my campsite is located a distance from where I need to launch.

I couldn't do it without a cart....to many steps at too many of the launch sites.
