Moving On to Huatabampito

Try saying that fast a couple of times. We left San Carlos this morning, passed through Cuidad Obregon and Navajoa then on to the beach again at El Mirador RV in Huatabampito. It was an uneventful trip but as always very interesting. When we are on a toll road with tolls of $152 (pesos) you tend to think you are on a freeway. NO NO - you aren't. Just some of the sights we saw while driving. Sorry about the quality of the photos the windshield was DIRTY. This is a four-lane divided highway - mostly.Sharing the road....

when you see a sign saying cattle you better believe it and watch out
Image
this was the outskirts of a big city in an industrial area
Image
And at every stop light, toll booth and tope there is someone selling something.
Image
the diamond shaped sign with the bumps means TOPE slow down or else - the tope is a BIG speed bump.

Truck stop

now that is a convertible.....
Image
These were actually pretty neat chairs - there is a tope there
Image
Then the final stretch of the road that was damaged last fall by a hurricane - fun - as always The Driver was not bothered
Image
Where we finally ended up - out the front window of Alfie
Image
We are right on beach. Have more or less Internet and tomorrow should be able to hook up Direct TV and our phone works. What more could we ask. Until tomorrow - BTW the sunset was beautiful.

Great photos! Great commentary! Jusr when I was wondering what a tope was, you explained it. In Scotland we call them Sleeping Policemen.

Great narrative and pics, as usual.

Question - what will you use for internet there? And what for phone? Are you using your cell plan at the int'l prices/

Another great trip through parts of Mexico! I sure do love following your travels!

I really do need to get out a map and check where in heck you are now....I know nothing about Mexico.

Thanks so much, Carol!

I am learning so much with your pics on this trip. They're great. You put enough pics in your narratives that it makes me feel like I am setting right in the front seat with you, enjoying all the sights right along with you. What a great trip We're having :D Like Sparkle, I was trying to figure out what a Tope was and then you explained it. The roads leave a lot to be desired but the scenery is terrific, especially all of your stopping over places. I love where you're at right now, you got that right, nothing better.

Thanks for all your post on your trip down there, I'm enjoying them so much.

Carol

What do you mean say the name over and over, I can't say it correctly once

So far all the campgrounds we've been have wi-fi available for free. we can use our Verizon phone - its roaming at 99 cents per minute international. And all have had 30 amps which will run the heater and the air conditioning and the washer - but only one at a time.
We are back behind a 3 foot rock sea wall - just need to step over it to be on the beach. Only about 10 other RVs here - mostly from Canada.

Carol, Are you using Mexican money. In the border towns we just use our American Dollars, but as there may be a Baja trip coming up, do I need to learn Peso's?
