On the Way to Tucson

Left Kerrville at 9am and arrived in Balmorhea, TX at 3:30. Was going to try for Van Horn but had bad wind every mile so far and just couldn't do another two hours driving in the wind. Am having a glass of wine at the Saddleback Mtn RV Park, a Passport American park, while little Rosie is rocking and rolling in the wind. Another glass of wine and I probably won't feel it at all. Did stop twice to walk the puppies and eat lunch. Tomorrow I go thru El Paso - my favorite place to drive thru - NOT!! Am gonna try and get there around 10:30 (before lunch traffic). Next stop will be Deming, New Mexico; Little Vineyard RV Park, with an indoor heated pool.

Someone on the forum was asking about the drive from San Antonio to El Paso. In one way its an easy drive - all freeway with some picnic areas BUT it tends to always be windy which means you will need to slow down so allow for a little more time to get where you're going.

Until tomorrow, drive safe. I'm after another glass of wine.

Drive safe Karen!! Pictures of that park? And how do you like it...

Hi Karen. Reading your post made me homesick for the southwest. I really enjoyed my time out there. Hello to Sharon, Sheila, Alice and Beth, I know you'll all have fun together. Wish I could be there too. My Trek is covered with snow. Peggy

Carol, please get hold of me when and where you might be available. I've pretty much given Karen free reign for the week. But we'd definitely like to gtg with you. The only day set in stone right now is Sunday. But I know we'll be going to the desert museum one day and hopefully the botanical gardens another, etc etc. And a couple days to relax are in the mix, too.
