Top of the Morning, It's St. Paddy's Day!!!

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Sun Mar 17, 2013 6:51 am

Yep, it's St. Patrick's Day and since we celebrated yesterday, (too much wine for me....  ) getting the motor going is going to take awhile....Irmi & Steve's friends, Bill & Susie, came to visit yesterday...nice folks and we all had a nice dinner of Irmi's Italian Chicken with noodles and lots of chatting, laughing, and adult beverages....We also watch the Savannah St. Patrick's Day parade on the TV...2nd largest parade in the US....and the best place to enjoy it is sitting at the RV with the TV..... ;)

Today we'll wear our green and take a trip to the local flea market for a look, see....once we all get our bodies going....

The weather is suppose to be just beautiful today....may even have to get the shorts out...well, maybe the capri pants....

I'm making corned beef and cabbage in the crock pot.....and watching the NASCAR race.....

Okay, will stop for now....enjoy the day and the "wearing of the Green" :D

Good morning Lori & everyone!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! It's another beautiful day in South Carolina and hopefully wherever you are, too! Like Lori said, we're going to check out a flea market today and we're looking forward to the corned beef and cabbage for dinner that she's making. Enjoyed Liz's pictures and narrative from her trip to Fitzgerald GA. She certainly finds the neatest places to visit. Have a wonderful day everyone!

Top o the morning to you all. Happy St. Patrick's Day. I'm Irish and love to celebrate. This is the last day of spring break for this part of TX so DH and I are going for a short trip to christen RED. Corned beef and cabbage in the crock pot. Have to convince DH that corned beef and brisket are the came cut, just cooked different. Everyone have a great day and stay safe.

Good Morning,

It was a workday on the homestead yesterday, but today Martha and I are having lunch, then off to the RV show. It should be a fun time!

Have a great day!

Sounds like everyone is having a great day.

Red and Birdie drive safe today. The wind is really up here this morning. I am going to make Chicken Fettuccine for us all tonight too. Had my bathrooms cleaned by 6:30 this morning. Good thing. As I was finishing up, people were starting to pour into them. I imagine since the weather has turned so cold, the tent campers will all be packing up and leaving today. One of the rangers said it is supposed to get down to around freezing tonight. He is waiting for that because a really large wasp nest has been found right above one of the sites in Paul's CG. It will be a lot easier to get it down without the wasps swarming in the cold temperatures. I have heard one of the rangers here is a real naturalist. I bet I learn a lot from him.

Hope everyone has a great St, Patrick's Day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Happy St. Patrick's from Northern Michigan too.

No corned beef and cabbage here either. Don't really care for corned beef and don't like cooked cabbage either. Plus when one may have a gallbladder issue, cabbage is a definite no no. But the sun is shining brightly here today and it promises to be a beautiful day. The calm before the storm that is to arrive late tomorrow. Winter's last hurrah I call it, this time of year. Looks to bring some nasty weather to the southeast too, about mid week, so keep an eye on your weather, those of you down that way.

It sounds like Lori, Ernie, Irmi and Steve are having so much fun in SC. And heading to a flea market none the less. And Anita and Martha are heading for an RV show, how I wish.

Liz, your pictures are beautiful as always. And I agree with the othhers, you find the most interesting places to visit.

Yes Judy, you are right in saying that I might have a few little traveling urges. Right now I have a big traveling urge, but I need to take one thing at a time. Need to get the ultrasound done and see if it will pin down my pain issues and then get them taken care of. Also not having a rig makes it hard to go anyplace right now and can't really afford to take on any more payments either. Have entertained selling the S&B and hitting the road in something, settling back down in MI perhaps in another year. All kind of thoughts going through my mind.

Not sure what I am going to do today. Know I will be heaidng to town to pick up some groceries and the Sunday paper. Had thought about going down and visiting a friend about 30 miles south, but will see how I feel. I have to get through the mornng pain bouts and moving around a bit before I feel good enough to get moving here. Been sleeping in later than normal these past couple of mornings too.

Well, I gotta get out of this chair and get moving, if I want to get anything done here. Have a great St. Patrick's Day all.

And another happy St. Patricks day from SoCal! Corned beef and cabbage along with the potatoes and carrots going in the crock pot a little later. I'll be taking it over to my daughters house. Really foggy here this morning and chilly. We're starting to cool down from the short warm spell that we had. Doesn't make me very happy..I prefer the warm! LOL!

Not a lot going on here, company coming all next week and I have some classes next week-end. My company may have to entertain themselves for a few hours in the evening. The company will be nice, tho. Chewy needs to dust off her entertaining personality, lots of fur babies coming, too.

Better get busy...Carolyn, you and Martha have a good time today and try and restrain Martha from any large impulse purchases! LOL!

Good Morning,

The wind kicked up here overnight - probably an end to my plan to shampoo truck upholstery and carpets. Have plenty to do inside.

I leave here in 2 weeks so the countdown begins!!

Have a good day all!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY TO ALL!

The dogs and I just scared off my beautiful black racer snake from my front flower/shrub garden. He was out there stalking a tree frog, who finally managed to get away and climb the side of my house after I inadvertently scared off the snake looking to see what on earth the dogs were so excited about. I love that sleek, shiny pure black snake. He is at least 4 feet in length! I guess he is one that St. Patrick failed to drive away! Yesterday, when Goog was fishing in the pond, we saw the large, about 12 foot, aligator who had been basking in the sun on the pond's edge. Spring is on the way, and the critters all know it.

The kids and I went to Sea World yesterday afternoon to the Bands, Brew, and BBQ affair----Rodney Atkins and Uncle Kracker were the concert----they were both fabulous to listen to. The place was pretty well mobbed, but we found good seats after buying our 20 dollar beer punch card to sample all the various beers on site. It was a fun time there, and then we walked to the Orena Sports bar and grill for some pool playing, ping pong, and beer drinking. We took a cab to Sea World, walked to the Orena, and took a cab back here early for us----about 10:30 pm. What's up with that? Are we all getting wussy as our birthdays grow in number? :)

Hope you all have a super St. Paddy's Day wherever you may be!

Which I were at my friends house in Ireland celebrating St Patrick's Day. The band led by the bagpipes come through the village and as they pass everyone joins in and it ends in a large party at one of the pubs. Odd are though the weather is like here, damp, cold and raining. Sharon your recipe sounds good with the added carrots and potatoes.
I'm skipping church this morning, going in for a meeting though at noon but by then I'll be able to get a parking spot by the door. :D I've spent the morning baking scones and Irish Soda Bread. I had my doubts about the scones as they were in a can like refrigerated biscuits and as suspected they weren't good. The bread though is a mix from Ireland that I've made before so have hopes for it will know in a few minutes as it is almost done.
Also finished grooming Andy ACK!!! Would rather groom two standard Poodles than that little dog. He puts his head down like an Ostrich and his hair is so fine it mats just looking at it. He has a nice if somewhat uneven cut now. Tomorrow he goes for a rabies titer test, I figure at 12 he has more than enough immunity. I just won't register him for his city license this year, they never check anyway and the only place he ever goes is to the vet. Toby will go along for his shots and a check on his hernia which suddenly is larger. :( The breeder said it had been repaired but... :?:
Oven buzzer is ringing, have a wonderful day everyone!

What's a "rabie titer" test? (I know FOR SURE I'd pass, well the second part of it, anyway...)

I was going to try homemade Irish soda bread, but figured why bother - I'd just throw it out after taking a bite...

A HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY TO MY RV FRIENDS:

May you always have

A sunbeam to warm you

Good luck to charm you

And a sheltering angel, so nothing can harm you

Laughter to cheer you

Faithful friends near you

And whenever you pray, heaven to hear you.
