I was of the age where we used orange juice cans for rollers, or at least the ones with curly hair. I had some of the first electric rollers and I would put my hair (mid-back length) up in a high ponytail, then use the rollers. That way the ends would curl and the rest would be straight.

My major "run away from home" after raising two rebellious daughters of my own - when I first pulled out of Austin to begin my fulltiming journey - June 13, 2001



Many more wrinkles at 50 but much happier than at 16 (less pouty anyway) - my shakedown cruise at Canyon of the Eagles



My first time on the Blue Ridge Parkway that year - some would say this is the most appropriate description of me.

OK, back to the real world for me now - I've gotta get to work!

How did you know Cher was my idol as a young teenager? One of my most favorite memories is my mom making me a Cher costume with ridiculously gaudy paisley bell bottoms and crop top. I wanted to die my hair black so I'd look more like her, but mom wouldn't go that far!

Most people say I look like Susan Dey in that photo - which kinda peeved me because her image was too "goody-goody" for me!

Let's just say I was pretty much hell on wheels and I wonder how my mom and I ever survived those years!
