Up waaaay to early, it's dark and cold! Didn't sleep worth beans last nite or the nite before, so of course, tonite, when I might want to stay up for a while, I'll probably be conked out at 7! Evie (Pooker) and I are on our way to Laughlin this morning. I had a coupon for a free room for a couple of nights and hated to see it go to waste. Evie's never been to Slab City, so we're gonna stop there and see Donna (ryegal) for a few minutes. It's only 120 miles out of the way.....And then my niece is camping on the Colorado river this w/e, so we may stop and see her and then take Ca-95 up to the I-40. I haven't been up that way in probably 25 years or more. Not that anything has probably changed much, I mean, it's desert, how much could change? LOL! But whatever, it's a road trip sans rv's, but gets us out of our houses for a couple of days.

Other than that, hope everyone has a great day today! See ya on Tues sometime...

Morning Ladies,

Raining here too. Turning my drive and road into a sheet of ice out there. Will be a slick trip to the corner here when I go get my Sunday paper. Par for the course this time of year. All in the name of Spring. Temps are supposed to drop behind this strom, so it will all freeze up again. County will probably sand road tomorrow if we don't get a little light layer of snow on it tonight.

Not much going on here today. Was busy yesterday cleaning house and running some errrands. Decided it was time to test out the back muscles and run my vac around. No problem and I think it feels better too. Can only stop doing these things for so long or we get stiff. And since I have no restrictions other than what I feel I can't do right now, may as well. Nice to have the house clean.

Sharon, sorry you aren't sleeping these days. Been there, done that. Your trip with Evie sounds like fun. Hope you two enjoy it.

I'm sitting here wishing I had some extra cash, so I could go van hunitng. Then i can start converting it to my idea of an RV. Oh well, maybe something will show up down the line. Dont want anymore payments right now.

Three more days and off to the SS office to get that ball rolling. Looking forward to a summer to do what i want to do and not having to worry about WORK. Unless a position opens up at the other park I would like to go to, then that will change the picture a bit. Time will tell. Should know before long.

Well, guess I had better get out of my jammies and into something more presentable to the public, so i can go out and get the paper  Have a wonderful day all.

I peaked at the clock and it was 8.... That would have been 7 yesterday...and Tyler had not asked to go out since las night. Yahoo!! Thank you Tyler. :P :P Then hard rain started making it impossible for me to go back to sleep. Oh well! We are suppose to have 1/2" rain, but it is in the 50s. After I find some coffee and something to eat, I'm heading out to RED to finish "nesting" as DH calls it. I'm getting frustrated that she still is just sitting there looking pretty. She was built to be on the road. If we don't go to MO next week then next time a friend comes over to help me back her out of the driveway, I'm going for a days drive. 8-)

It was really fun to have Maggie (sandersmr) and Judy (Aokay) over yesterday. We explored every nook and cranny of RED and just sat and talked. Then off to a Japanese seafood restaurant. We shared a huge sushi roll. Judy and I had salads topped with blackened Ahi and Maggie had Mahimahi. I really enjoy these mini get togethers. :P

DH has tickets for the Willie Nelson concert for tonight. That should be interesting. :P Everyone have a grand day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

GOOD MORNING ALL!

It's an hour later than I would like it to be, but my computer manages to keep up with the present so-called daylight saving time. Granted, it stays lighter later, but it's an hour darker in the mornings now. I am more of a morning person than I am a night person, so I really dislike this meddling with my clocks. But, if I wish to be on time for appointments all summer, I have to go along with it. Sigh.

It's another bright sunny day here in FL, and supposed to be warming up gradually now. I am hoping for a rainy day now and then to make our grass grow and our crops survive this drought.

Yesterday my neighbors had a monstrous blow-up slide-bouncy thing set up in their yard all day for all the neighborhood kids who were all invited to celebrate one of their kids' 3rd birthday. They also had a dunk tank (500 gallons of water) set up which the kids loved! And many lawn games and lots of good company. I loved watching the kids, dancing to some music, meeting more neighbors, sharing some Recipe, and playing the lawn games. A good time was had by all----they cooked hot dogs and hamburgers all afternoon, too.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday wherever you may be.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning everyone,
Drizzling here but its in the 40's so it feels great! :D Temps will drop today but only for a short while - by the end of the week we're looking at maybe getting into the 60's. :o

New pup is doing fine - decided she looked more like a Sadie - so Sadie, my lady, she is... Vet said she's not quite a year old but shouldn't get much bigger. Sierra doesn't seemed to be bothered by her at all - however, I do find Sierra in the bathroom sleeping when I get home... found out why - Sadie idolizes her - Sadie saddles up to her, licks her face, tries to paw (pet) her, rubs her body to body, then flops on the floor tummy side up - tail wagging all the time. Sierra stays with her a while then slowly makes her way somewhere quiet... Plus I don't think Sierra wants to be blamed for the papers that I find on the floor each day & my sandals getting re-arranged while I'm gone - no chewing just wants to have 1 or 2 with her.

College kids came in town to see her again. Daughter's boyfriend got accepted into grad school in San Diego. His mom booked both of them a flight out there for a visit in April - Gaby can look for a job while he looks over the school. His mom & I are looking forward to some great trips out there for ourselves. Now just need to hope he gets some fellowship money. :D

Oldest daughter & her girls are coming for a visit this week from Dallas... Upgrading phone system at work will put a crimp in my plans to be off, but I should still get plenty of quality time with them. :)

Well, daughter is up - better go put coffee on & start the day...
Hope everyone stays safe & warm. Enjoy! :D

Good Morning all.
Red, your husband has tickets to WILLIE !!! You are sooooo lucky I'd love to go to another Willie concert.
A friend and I finally took Elsie out for a spin yesterday to see if all her problems had been taken care of and all seemed well, thank goodness! Went to lunch at a little place called Yellow Moon and happy to say the place has vastly improved and I'll go again. From there we went to a winery that also has a micro brewery and I had a small sample of their hard apple cider, yummy! I don't like home made beer but the cider was very good.

I haven't been to a Willie Nelson concert for about ten years. I love him and all his band. Bobbie is the best piano player and Mickie on the harmonica..wow.
At one concert I went up to the stage area and got his autograph. Enjoy your evening.

Yes, I am up and have been for a couple of hours, though grudgingly. Two days ago I climbed 203 steps up the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, and then yesterday I visit Kennedy Space Center, so I am worn out. I have a rental car for just today, so after I am good and grade a couple of papers, I am headed out for a drive south of here. Lighthouse and Kennedy Space Center were both very impressive.

I love this area around Flagler beach, and especially love this Gamble State Park!!! It is one of the hardest to get into, but to be facing the beach and seeing the ocean out of your front window is fantastic!! There is a walkway next to my site which I thought would be a problem, but it is actually really convenient. I can go out my door and within just a few steps be on the ocean beach. I have one more week here and then heading north a bit more.

Things are a bit stressful since it is the end of the semester and the biggest papers are in and need to be graded, but it will all be over in two weeks. Tuesday I am off to a dealer to get the last of the warranty issues fixed, or at least documented for fixing later by the factory. I'll be headed past Decatur, Indiana, in June, so have already scoped out a couple of days if I need it.

Supposed to be sunny and 75 here today!

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are planning on staying anywhere near Daytona next year, you might want to make sure you are NOT scheduling it the same week as Bike Week. It is crowded here because of various spring breaks, but also from the many motorcycles. I can hear a considerable differnce in traffic noise, plus i ended up driving yesterday late afternoon through some crowds milling around outside of bars that made me a bit uncomfortable. Police were around, luckily, and I got through safely. Did not like the fact that all you see on stores are huge signs advertising cheap prices for beer!!! Luckily this campground is 15 miles south of Daytona or it would be even worse.

I forgot about the time change so lunch was an hour late. That makes meals even better. :P It's overcast and very windy. The line of rain coming from Texas isn't very far away but it is moving slow. This afternoon and tonight we will have a severe thunderstorm watch. It will cool off again for a couple of days and back to the 70's. My sister has been wanting to go fishing but I have been busy. Next weekend is the RV show in Lafayette. I don't know that I can miss the RV show.

I like the time change so I can have another hour of daylight. I usually feed in the afternoon and I have to do it at 4:30 or if I mess around I either miss the news or feed in the dark. I'll have another hour to mess around before dark. My dad had chickens that he would feed at night and shut up. My son would spend time with them sometimes and he started saying that Grandpa had to chicken up. It's funny how family saying get started. We still refer to feeding as chickening up and we have never had a chicken on the place.

Red, enjoy your concert. The last one I went to was Reba and Brooks and Dunn. That was probably my last concert because of how loud they play the music. I put Kleenex in my ears and was wishing I had ear plugs. I had gone to a comedy show before that and left early because I couldn't stand the noise.
