Feeling Better Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Feeling Better Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Mar 07, 2013 7:36 am

Good morning all,

Been absent here for a couple of days. Had some health issues. Rolled over in bed in wee hours of Tuesday morning and had searing pain in right abdomen area. Geez :o Lasted a few minutes and went away. Upon getting up, had some breakfast, went up to Chiropractor, explained situation and she checked me over to make sure that perhaps I didn't move something out of place. Nope. All's fine. Okay, made appt. with my Nurse Practioneer for later that afternoon. Long story short, her exam seemed to indicated gallbladder issue, possibly stone. Ordering Ultrasound. No I am not expecting   Felt crappy all this time, asked cousing to go with me to appt. and also to drive. Yesterday I felt crappy all day. Wanted to go to town to get some fruit and whatnot in the house that I could eat for the gallbladder affair. Too much pain to drive, so asked cousin if she was going to town, yep. Brought me my stuff. Was nauseaous all day. Felt downright crummy in late afternoon, plus having steay pain. Nuts to this. Called cuz, and went to ER. Another long story short. Physican's Assistant examed me. Probed along abdomen, nothing. I had told her that i had a spot in my lower back that has been bothing me ever since the episode with the ice. She asked me to roll on my side, probed along back, stuck fingers in one spot and i about went off the table. Daignosis: soft tissue lesion  No gallbladder. So had me do a "p" sample which came back perfect. Okay, gave me a Motrin, instructions to use moist heat and "get outta here" Much relieved. Hadn't eaten much yesterday due to the pain and nauseous feeling. Threw a frozen spghettin dinner in micro. Ate, no issues. Had breakfast this morning, no issues. So I guess the gallbladder diagnosis is null and void. Will see where we go from here. But feeling much better this morning and I think I can even make the drive to town today.

But dang, it's so hard when you must ask others for help. I have to cousins here. The one that took me to appt. had to go downstate yesterday cause her daughter is having hysterectomy today. Other one who took me to ER has a husband with a ton of medical issues including diabetes and congestive heart failure and had to take him to doc yesterday as well. My other friend who owns the motel just had cardiac cath done on Monday and of course my next door neighbor is downstate recovering from heart surgery, so my list of whom to ask got very slim. But found out last night that my friend who had the cath on Monday is fine and is available if I need anything. She and hubby both. So I am covered on all bases right now. Good feeling.

So today i am going up to Chiropractor office and let them know what's going on and see what they recommend. Then need to go to bank etc. After that will just stay home and rest for day. Dogs were VERY happy to see me last night as I had planned on possibly being admitted to hospital. I was very happy to see them too. i don't like to leave them. They don't like it when I am gone after dark even if I leave a light on.

So all's well with my world at the moment. Going to go back and read up and see what's been going on these past couple of days. Have a good day all.

Good morning, Sue and all that follow...

Sue, I would still have the Ultrasound done for the gallbladder, just to rule it out....Been there, done that....waited....wish I hadn't waited..had surgery...have felt so much better for 38 yrs.since... ;) Just my 2 cents....((hugs))

Sunny and warming up some here along the SC line.....We're going to do a little touring today....checking out the Farmers Market in Bluffton SC and lunch out...Promise to take the camera along.... ;)

The Sultan has stated that he's decided we're going to "Just Wing It" where we go when we leave here... In other words, he can't decide where he wants to go.... But we both still want a beach fix, so looking at somewhere along the coast of NC....too expensive at Myrtle Beach for him....

Okay, better get going and get ready for today's adventure....

Have a great day, all...

Good Morning... Wow Sue you have had a rough week... it is especially hard when the docs cannot find anything to pin it on... hope you feel better real fast...
No new white stuff this morning... for that I am glad!!
I want to get out of this snowy place but no where to go... MH is dead in the water... have to have someone jump it and get the batteries charged up...
Maybe the predicted warm up to 50 by the week end will help my attitude...
Take care everyone

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I sure am glad to see you on here this morning, Sue. Dell and I were worried about you last night as you never showed up for chatting, and I hadn't seen a post from you all day yesterday. That sharp abdominal pain and the nausea you were feeling seems much more like a gall bladder attack than a "soft tissue" in the back thing. It could be that you had passed a stone and that by the time you were seen by the ER person, your back issue was was the only painful "spot" left. I have no idea what a urine test would show if gall bladder issue, but I never had such a test done to diagnose gall stones. But, of course, I am not a doc. However, I have felt the very same pain and nausea you were feeling when I had a very sick gall bladder full of stones and sand. After removal many years ago now, no more problems. As Lori has mentioned, don't rule that out just yet. At any rate, I am glad to read your post this morning, and I sure hope you have better days to come now. Hug those pups, and have them lie along your back like living heating pads!

I bought some thin plywood squares yesterday to trace the outline of my foldable cupboard shelves on so I can cut out new ones to replace the gasoline soaked old ones. I am hoping I can get my saw to accurately cut around my lines! I also found a $5.00 OOPS can of paint at Lowes that might be nice in the bathroom----not sure yet. I might mix my two OOPS cans to get a color I can live with. Also got 5 strips of peel'n'stick wood linoleum to cover my aging and worn panel board I use for counter space in the trailer. And the pups got a new chew bone thing to keep their jaws occupied. And I also bought a flat of annual flowers, not sure what kind but pretty, to plant around the trees in the yard and in front of the house.

Warm-up due for our area after the cold night last night, and I am looking forward to some more pool time!

Happy travels!

Good Morning,

Sue, hope you are really on the mend and gall bladder isn't involved - also been there done that. Guess symptoms vary as mine started with mild symptoms.

No one here to have coffee with this morning :( Miss you, Carolb! And the Gator GTG - fun!

My plan yesterday was to start cleaning and packing plus giving this cold/allergy issue a rest. However, LeRoy called just as I started a nap because several were coming from Salome to have pizza in Quartzsite. He never wants to come because it is so loud, but he thought I didn't want to be alone! So other friends got to enjoy my scratchy voice! I was so pleased to sit next to a friend who had been away for awhile and I hadn't seen for over a month.

Just called about my thermostat that was due in by Monday, wasn't there Tuesday but is now sitting there. Thanks for the phone call, guys. Will get that done before I head back to Salome today. I would stay here longer but rain and cool are on the way.

E-mail from DD that little dog and his eye are doing well - they saw the vet yesterday!

Drizzly today but it sure wasn't as cold as I was expecting when I went out on the back porch to make sure Chewy made it out to the grass. She can be a bit of a prima donna about getting her tush wet. Think it's supposed to be like this until Sat, then warming up a bit.

Not a whole lot going on here, sure enjoyed Carolb's visit yesterday. I enjoyed her company and her dogs enjoyed the freedom of a fenced yard. Finally finished getting the garage swept out, it had an inch of dirt on the floor that blew in while I was in Q in Jan. Pulled the Harley out, cleaned him up and made arrangements for the local dealer to come pick him up for some work he needs. It'll be nice to get out for a ride now that we're getting nicer weather. I really need to do something about the broken window on the back of the garage.

No Carol, I didn't think you were crazy, I just couldn't get any help for you. I tried, really I did! The sherrifs dept said they don't do dog calls and neither one of the humane offices were answering their phone and not even a message center. It just hung up on me. I was just very frustrated..not with you..with them. Come on by, you know where I am now. If I'm not there, I'll be right back, I'm meeting Azusateach over where you saw the stray to do a hand off of a surge protector. I'll leave the gate open, just drive in and shut the gate so you can let the pups out. I thought you were staying at your sis' for a week? Must have mistaken that. Oh well.

Poor Anita, you keep trying to find peace and quiet time to yourself and it just doesn't seem to be working for you! LOL! Gotta give L kudos for thinking of you, tho. LOL!

Gotta get busy, lots on the agenda today, hope everyone is having a stupendous day!

I got woken up this morning at the very early hour of 9:00am by a student phone call. Can you tell I am NOT a morning person? Anyway, I got out of bed, opened my computer, logged on, and did what I needed to do for her, without telling her she had gotten me out of bed. :)

I was getting up at 7:30 am for the first 5 months of my full-timing, mostly when I was out west. I was congratulating myself that I finally was getting into better sleep habits. Anyway, when I got down here to Florida, it all went to heck. I am getting to bed around midnight, and getting to sleep around 2:00 am. Then up at about 9:30 am or so.

When I was freelancing about 9 years ago, I had a fellow online instructor who I could email at 1:00 am and always find him up--could tell because software let me know what faculty and students were online at all times. Then, I went to work for 7 years at a job with regular hours and got back to getting up in the morning. I still have trouble, however, and saw a sleep physician a couple of years ago. After trying some things, he basically told me that some people are just night owls, and to adjust my work hours as best as I could. My office hours at my regular job then became 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, but even that was a struggle.

Enough rambling. I have decided I am mostly retired, so I can do what I want to do in life. And when I head back out west, I will already be on Pacific time! ;)

I really am not anti social, but when I get so far behind on things, I need to regroup and stay with the program!

I'm a night person too. When I was a kid I would hide in my closet and read with a flashlight hoping I wouldn't get caught. My DH gets up about 4:00 most mornings and usually makes so much noise that I seldom sleep past 6:00. If I ever sleep late it's because I woke up during the night and couldn't go back to sleep until almost morning.

I didn't get my margarita last night, the restaurant only had beer and wine. I'm not much of a beer drinker and there aren't many wines I like. We had a very cheerful waiter but not very organized. He must have been a college student. I had fried crawfish and had heartburn so bad when I got home I thought I would throw up. I know better than to eat fried food at night.

It is nice and sunny today but a little cool. Will probably be back in the 70's tomorrow. The library is having a book sale today thru Saturday. I want to go see if they have any cookbooks I would like. I sure don't need any but love to read cookbooks. A recipe is about as long as my attention span. Maybe I can make it over there tomorrow.

Really down and depressed. Oldest son and DIL getting divorced  2 kids: daughter 9 and autistic son 6. Last night at 2 am Son found DIL out in the laundry room doing the horizontal mambo with some guy. Who needs TV for soup opera?? There's enough in real life. Can't believe someone would do that with their husband and kids just in the other room. Anyway, son moving out, etc. etc. etc. My heart is broken for the kids. They are the ones that get hurt the most with divorces.

Red, I feel for you and your son. The trouble has just started. Two years ago my son married a woman he has know since college. Evidently he didn't know her well enough, she is an alcoholic. He took care of her 2 kids for over a year but when his son came for a month last summer she wanted my grandson to stay at my house and his dad just visit him here. Well you can imagine how that went over. When they split up her family had her committed to a rehab and took custody of her kids. The damn court system let her move back into a mobile home we own and we just got her out. She took almost everything that wasn't nailed down, even the bathroom mirror and shower head. I'm sure she isn't through giving us trouble. Just hope my son can get free of her.

Red and Martha, I am sorry for what you are both going through and most especially for your grandchildren! Not the same, but I remember worrying about my nieces whenever a situation appeared in my sister's life. She didn't always make the best choices.

So sorry about the problems with the divorces. Always so painful.

I'm a night person, always have been. Years ago I learned that if I was allowed to sleep on my own schedule, I'd not be up till 9 or 10 am ... and sometimes later. I actually needed less sleep if I was on those hours. However, rarely in my life have I been totally able to do that. Better on some of my workamp jobs than others ... like now, 6 days out of every 8, I'm on my hours. Two I need an alarm clock. The first of those I'm usually zombie like ... 2nd much better... then the next night (tonight) I'm happy, happy, as I don't have to try to force myself to sleep to get up earlier than my body comfortably wants to. Now, if there's something really, really worthwhile to get up early for ... oh, then I can force myself.

Last summer in AK, my hours were great ... never needed an alarm clock for our regular cruises. This year, might need it as we're going to be going out earlier ... and I will make sure Peaches continues to get her long walk first.
