Blustery Tuesday

Good morning all. As Pooh would say, "it's a blustery day". :P Its 55 out and the winds are blowing at 20 mph gusting to 30. Gonna get back down to 35 tonight. Just started my Kuerig coffee. haven't looked in the cupboard for breakfast yet. I'm excited. EllenW from Spokane is in town for a wedding. EllenW, Dawn, DH and I went to RV boot camp together back in November. She is coming over to see RED and we will hang out and have a gtg today. Will post pix latter. Everyone have a great day. :P Stay warm and dry and stay safe. Aloha y'all

Good morning all. It's supposed to rain here this afternoon so I want to get some sightseeing in this morning before it does. We didn't do much of anything yesterday as Paul found a water leak behind his toilet and had to get that fixed. We have pretty much figured out where in Slidell all the stores are. We tried to go to a restaurant yesterday that was featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives for their prime rib po boy. We got there just after 2 and found out they close at 2. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. Will try again this week. When I got myself all checked in yesterday, I collected a lot of brochures for places to go and things to see. While I am waiting for Paul to wake up and poke his head out of his rig, I am going to take a look at them.

Hope everyone has a really good day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good morning Red, Dawn & everyone!

Red, enjoy your day with EllenW and am looking forward to pictures!

Dawn, that was too bad the restaurant was closed when you got there, but now that you know the hours, maybe you can try again. I like your new avatar!

It's cold again in Ocala this morning, but at least we started off above freezing and we'll get into the mid 70's today. Other than sitting outside with a good book, there is nothing on our agenda. One week from today we'll head north and will stop for two weeks to visit with Lori & Ernie. Sure hope all these cold snaps are done! LOL! Have a great day everyone!

Liz emailed that she is on her way. The kayaking tour may just wait before heading out to the water. Will have to discuss with the other campers here. :) Nan and I know from experience that once she gets here she can get that kayak out in minutes.......we have seen her in action. :D Pictures to follow.

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Not half as cold here this morning, and I don't even need to fire up my house furnace----just put on a fleece jacket over my fleece PJs and sock my feet. Pups are enjoying the sunshine outside while waiting for their breakfast.

Molly has a vet appointment today for the second half of her leptospirosis vaccination today, and, other than that, no schedule for us. I guess I should at least try my income tax forms for 2012, although it scares me how much I will probably owe this time around due to my oil shares income, the checks from which have nothing withheld. Sigh.

It sounds as if the FL campers are going to undertake another kayaking tour today, and I am looking forward to some more neat pictures of the expedition!

I can also paint my bathroom today, and order some siding for the back of the garage where some dry rot has made it very unsightly. A trip to Lowes may be in order.

Hope everyone has a fun day wherever you may be and whatever you may be doing.

Happy travels!

It was 13 degrees yesterday when I woke up in Michigan. This morning it is 45 degrees in Louisville. No ice underfoot. :D

They are supposed to get some snow tonight, though, so I guess I'll be moving along.

Happy!!

JaneFromMaryland here at Highlands Hammock State Park. Sun out and am enjoying that with walking and biking. Have $5 ticket for 2:30 tram tour (1-1.5 hour) in the back country to see "The Real Florida"; have taken the tour three times before, but do enjoy it. Leaving tomorrow for 100 miles north for a week or so. THOUGHT I had a rather smooth ride to Sebring yesterday through Arcadia for the 75 or so miles. Upon arrival here, opened the closet to find the closet rod had come out of the walls and all clothes had crashed through the thin floor of closet and into the drawer below, which then snapped its support bracket and on and on. Think I'll have RV fix-it man in Maryland put reinforced shelves in the closet space upon return in April, as opposed to rehanging rod. But where to keep jackets on hangers, besides on the shower curtain rod in small bathroom? Closet area practically useless until then; rearranged hanging clothes last night and have a bag of donation clothes for Cat Rescue Thrift Store in Mt. Dora for tomorrow. The list of fixes needed upon return to Maryland is growing! Such is life on the road! Thanking God daily (sometimes hourly) for the 16 plus weeks of safe travel this season :!: :!: ALL STAY SAFE! Jane

Good Morning,

CarolB left with her rig on a tow truck a few minutes ago to get the new water pump installed. Her plan was to come back here tonight, but she thought if they got done early enough she would contact Sharon (heads up, girl). We have had a wonderful time and so nice that Kerry and Sheila have been able to join us. I think the 3 of them are going out to breakfast. I am going for a RZR ride.

Felt a little cooler this a.m., but I guess I got up a little earlier. Suppose to be 81 before the day is over.

Dawn, I like the new Avatar!

Safe travels and happy GTGs!

Chilly and foggy as heck here! I sure will be glad when this cold weather is gone for good! Thanks for the heads up Anita, I'll be sure and keep the phone near me in case Carol calls. The driveway is wide open, I put Hope out back knowing I wouldn't be using her until the end of the month and I had company coming. Evie (Pooker) and I are heading to Laughlin on Sunday for a couple of days of R&R. Had a coupon for a free room so figured I might as well use it.

Anita, I remembered an awesome place for you guys to go RZR riding. It's a way, but lots of scenery and a couple of really good mines. Look up Ballarat. One of the trails is Goler wash, Manson's hideout is up there. Some idiot burned the house down a couple of years ago, but let me tell you, it was pretty creepy being in that house! There are about 4 really good day trips from there.

We had a lot of bluster yesterday, but today the winds are predicted (   ) to be light.

But the exciting news here ... while the highs are in the high 60s / low 70s this week, our lows are in the mid to high FORTIES. OMG, I was thrilled not too long ago for my daytime temps to get into the 40s.

Not doing a lot around here today. Blew past the quilting group meeting yesterday but got a lot of errands run. FINALLY got a packet off to my CPA yesterday, returned overdue library books and did a few other things. Today, it's grocery shopping. I seem to have eaten almost EVERYTHING out of my fridge and pantry. Think it's time.

Good afternoon
It has been a beautiful day here in north FL.
Liz did arrive and proved just how fast she could park and get ready for a kayak trip. I'm dog sitting and waiting for Carol (carolinagal) to arrive while Nan, Liz, Tina and Sandy float down the river. This is the initial wetting of Sandy's new kayak. Can't wait to hear how the trip went.

Carol just arrived.
