Cccccold Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cccccold Sunday

Postby Irmi » Sun Mar 03, 2013 8:07 am

Good morning everyone!

It's cold in Florida this morning. It was 37 degrees when we got up and we'll only have a high of 57 today. Tuesday we'll be back in the 70's. We had some wicked winds yesterday and there was lots of lawn furniture being thrown around and friends in the park were putting their awnings up and hoping for the best. It has calmed down although we'll still have winds at about 17 MPH today. It'll be a good day to stay inside with a good book.

I talked to Carolb yesterday and she is having a great time and she sounded great! I also talked to my parents and they're also doing well, but Dad said he's looking forward to my cooking.

Those on the road, please be safe and I wish all of you a great day.

Good morning Irmi and all that follow.

It is cold here too. Brrrr. The winds have died down here too. Just breezy now. I am so glad we decided not to drive yesterday. We should be able to make it to New Orleans today with no problem. Checked the forecast and the winds are going to be around 6 mph with gust to 10 mph. Definitely a doable drive. I am so looking forward to exploring New Orleans and the surrounding area.

Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

It is sooooo cold in central FL, but no where as bad as up north. Do not know how people in the northern states survive freezing temperatures all winter. Will consider this as another opportunity to wear "winter type" clothing. OK, I know the ladies up north are chuckling, but we are cold!

GOOD MORNING IRMI AND ALL!

Yep, it surely is cold here this morning----my thermometer says it got as low as 37 in the night, and it's now only 44. So far the wind is not half as bad as yesterday, but it is still very strong. And there is no sun whatsoever here yet, with a heavy cloud cover. The O'Briens are heading home to Tampa this morning, so I am off to the house to visit for the next couple of hours. My dogs will miss having Fallon to play with and vie for the frisbee and other toys.

I guess I will head home to Orlando today, too, as it's going to be too cold to spend any time outside anyway. Off to the house I go for a bit. Coffee is done and I'm ready to roll.

I see that Linda posted while I was sending mine----and yes, you are so right that this cold is nothing like what my hometown is experiencing today with temps at 15 above this morning! I'll take this cool spring-like weather any day over that!

Happy travels!

Good Morning Irmi, Dawn and all who follow,

Irmi, you can send that 57 degrees up here. We would love to see it that warm :) As is, we will be lucky to get out of the upper 20's today, but there is a gradual warm up coming this week. Right now it's a beautifu sunny morning, not a cloudy in the sky, hoarfrost on the tree banches and sun sparkle on snow..

Wow, sure must have been windy in FL yesterday. Dawn, glad you stayed put. Very wise. Now today, you should be able to continue on your way and enjoy the sights and sounds of New Orleans.

I'm happy to report that I woke up pain free for awhile this morning. After a little bout with getting comfortable last night in bed, I finally fell asleep till Sassy woke me at 6. So I guess things are healing up slow but sure. Now that I am moving around of course, I have a little pain back agian, but tolerable. It's more of a stretched muscles feeling and I am currently sitting with my moist heating pad. And for some silly reason, I was thinking it was Monday and had to go to Chiropractor in a while. Guess that's how one loses tracok of the days, when one doesn't have anythng in particular to do. I am going to wash hair and then later on, head into town to restock up the meat supply for the girls dinners. Also will stop by local KMart and see what bargains are to be had right now. The store is closing in May and today is first day of liquidation sales. Another 48 people either having to transfer elsewhere or be out of work. That will leave Gaylord with just WalMart as far as a discount type store is concerned. Might possibly benefit the local merchants on the main drag though. Time will tell.

Well, just wanted to chime in this morning and say hi. Glad to see that everybody's doing okay. For those of you who are moving around today, be safe. Those of you who are in place, have a great day.

Good morning to all,

A very cold, but sunny morning in the Butte. It should warm up high 50's. I am on my 2nd mug of coffee. :)

Had a great Friday evening in New Orleans at a house concert (a friend of my sister hosted it) starring Jeremy McComb. He is out of Nashville and does a lot of Stageit shows on the internet. This was my first time hearing him, as well as learning about Stageit, which is another outlet for budding and music stars to sing and entertain us. Two of my sisters are frequent StageIt fans. Here is the link to Stageitif anyone is interested in learning about it, http://www.stageit.com/ Here is the link about Jeremy McComb, http://jeremymccomb.com/index.php/bio/

I am waiting for it to warm up, so I can go outside and sort through all the "stuff" under my carport. Last weekend I cleaned out the garage and storage building at the house I have for sale and moved it under the carport to house I am living in. This is not a fun job. ;)

Have a great day everyone!

good morning ladies
cold out, 51 at 7:30 and suppose to warm up to 79. I prefer the 80's but I'll take what I get since I'm fortunate
not to be living in the north. Washing up winter jackets and sweatshirts today for packing. Won't need the heavy
stuff now. Will keep one in the drawer for "just in case" and a nice denim shirt that I sometimes use as a light
jacket.
Also on the agenda, learn how to use my new phone. I don't like it! The one I wanted was out of stock so I settled
for a different one. :( Its a windows phone, although it was free, its been very difficult to learn. I have 30 days
to exchange it so I might do that by next weekend if I can't get some kind of personalization done to my screen.
Will see about some tutorials on the internet. There are some on the phone but that seems to use up data time,
go figure.
Not much else going on today, thats enough for a sunday and I prefer to let sunday be my lazy day but the excess
clothing in here is a bit much, so thats a necessary chore.
Ya'll have a great day and try to stay warm.

A little chilly here, too, but we're supposed to make it up to 80 today! Yayyyy! I do so enjoy my warm weather. Starting to cool down middle of next week tho. darn!

Chewy had a massive bladder infection, but she's feeling much better, eating again and we even went to 2 obedience classes yesterday. She almost made it thru the 2nd one, which is a lot of just walking, but pooped out half way thru. That's ok, she did great!

Carolyn, I had to go exploring on that website and then hit youtube for one of Jeremys songs. I like him! I listened to several of his songs and liked this one the best:

You know I'd come over and help you clean out your carport if I was there! But I'm not, so get crackin' girl! LOL!

Dinner at my daughters house, she's smoking something, I think a ham. It's all good and I don't have to cook or clean, which is a great thing!

Have an awesome day and stay warm and dry!

Went out to the car and found it covered in thick frost. Of course the yard is covered in frost. The pillows on the patio chairs look like ice cubes. Tyler was only out a few minutes before wanting back in. Although it is cold, the sun is out and beautiful. Too bad I'm stuck in side. I'm sitting at the Laff Stop waiting for the drivers class to start. I have been procrastinating about taking this class to get rid of that ticket I got. So today is the day. Check. One more thing off the list. Learned that my A/C makes heat too  Apparently they have heat pumps. Don't know what that is, but I'm learning. everyone have a great day. Stay warm and stay safe. Aloha y'all

It's cold here too, 20 degrees, but the sun is out for the first time in almost a week, maybe it will get out of the thirties today.
I saw a Bobcat yesterday sitting about 15-20 feet from a busy rural highway!! At first I thought it was a big cat but as I zipped past realized from the shape, size and color it had to be a small Bobcat. I knew they were in the area but didn't think there were many. I heard that two people in Union Co. had recently been bitten by Bobcats. One woman was trying to shoo a litter off the road and one bit her, another guy found one in a port-o-potti and he was bit trying to get it out. Guess there are more around than I thought.
I'm glad to hear Chewy is feeling better and doing well in his classes! I know there are several more in Toby's future!

Good morning all! :D

Hey, Red, was thinking of yew & Tyler yesterday! Tigg got owt his plastic bottle rat toy--his gift from Tyler! :P Speaking of dogs, Rosie is adorable--I like that name...Glad Chewy is feeling better. Now, Sharon, yew know they say the "obidence" classes are really "people training" classes, right???? That's what they told me, & yep I failed two sessions of them

Had a GREAT day yesterday! Kerry & Sheila here!--with dogs, of corse :P AND if yew can believe this, it was a NON FOOD GTG!!!!  Poor Anita had to sit & listen to the 3 of -s talk "dog" for the biggest part of the day! Bt when one of the 4-leggers strayed off, she was the first to let -s know--THANKS, good dog-mom Anita ;) NOW, the great thing is that Kerry has a friend who came to look at my HB, & he's getting parts today from Blythe. Hopefolly I'll find a garage to do the work (water pomp & belt) on Mon. If not, can't think of a better place to be stranded! :P

Another GREAT day in the works--Kerry will come by to take Anita & I into town, see her rig & shop. And Sheila will be back later today, & we may even have food  This is the life!

Y'all have a great day! Hope winds have died down for traveling peoples. Be safe & have a happy day wherever yew are 8-)

Irmi, I think everyone looks forward to your cooking. :) I decided I wanted BBQ chicken today. I'm not the BBQer in the family and my fire went out before the chicken was done. Had to put it in the oven for a while.

It got down to 32 for about an hour early this morning. My DH said there was a big frost. He was worried about his horse because she was shivering so much. She wasn't running a fever and he put another blanket on her. If he had told me earlier I would have brought the electric blanket out to warm her up. She's just not use to cold weather. I would be shivering too. The sun is out and it's warming up some. The forecast says 73 and windy tomorrow.

Red, if you are talking about your motorhome ac has heat that's great. I have been told that the heat strips are only good when the temperatures are only down to 40. They have worked for me when it's down to freezing but I don't have much of an area to heat.

Carolb, glad you are having fun in Q. Hope they can get your van fixed.
