Chilly Saturday....

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Chilly Saturday....

Postby rvgrammy1953 » Sat Mar 02, 2013 6:17 am

Geez, we come south to get away from all this chilly weather.... 35F right now at 6:10am....but the good news is that it's to be partly sunny & about 53F today....okay, guess I'll survive... ;)

It's the beginning of the month, so it's bill paying day and a trip to the grocery store is in order.....We'll go out to find the local Walmart to fill the shopping list and then come back to stay warm....

Had supper at The Pink Pig last night....Seafood & Ribs are their specialty..pretty good fish fry for me & an oyster sandwich for The Sultan....and less than $25 for the 2 of us.....

Well, got the coffee going and blueberry muffins for you all today...enjoy!

Spinner will soon want to go out, so will stop for now...

Have a great day, all....

Good morning Lori, Donna and all who follow.

It's chilly here this morning too. Was glad to be back in Central Time. I woke up at my normal time around 5. It's supposed to warm up into the 50's here today too. We have decided to extend for a day here in Pensacola. It's supposed to get pretty windy this afternoon from here to New Orleans. I sure don't feel like fighting the wind again if I don't have to. That's the good thing about leaving early to get to OK. I don't have to fight the wind. I don't know what we will do today, if anything. I like the thought of just hanging around and not doing much today. I would like to go see the beaches while we are here, though. I don't know if Paul will want to go since it is Shabbat for him.

Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good morning everyone,

You all are waking up in the 30's - here in KC we're hoping to get UP to the 30's!
This snow is great for the wheat crop & farmers, but I'm sooooo ready for spring!

New pup is doing well - of course, the snow is so deep in the back yard, she didn't venture off the deck for her first outings - Sierra looked at her like "hey, you, if I can get out here & I'm 15 you can get out here too to do your business!" I wasn't really looking for another furbaby, but am glad she crossed my path while I still have Sierra to train her. She doesn't know how to 'ask' to go out or how to 'ask' to come back in - Sierra is good at both of those 8-)

Evenyone came over to meet her yesterday & she handled all the gentle love nicely. It's good to have that over now so she can see what a day with just the 3 of us is like. We're thinking of calling her Rosie - I'm not as sure of it this morning as I was yesterday but will give it a go... :?

Need to go out & buy some more of the food she is used to - will convert her to something else, but need to do that gradually. Plus, Sierra has decided she'll eat this stuff too - Amen!!! fewer rotesserie chickens! :D :D

Well, better get started....
Hope everyone has a great day!

Not sure of the temperature out there this morning but we have another tiny bit of snow on the ground, can still see the grass so nothing serious. It isn't as pretty this morning as the trees aren't coated like yesterday. Planning to go out to the Winter Farmers Market which is thankfully indoors and then to yoga. I finished all my errands yesterday, I'll be so glad when DH is over this cold thing he has so he can start doing the grocery shopping which I particularly dislike and fortunately he likes. I wish I could have convinced him to go to the doctor as his cough been has deep in his chest. He is going to the opening of an art exhibition his work is a part of in Chicago next weekend, I hope feels a lot better soon!
Catherine, I need to bring my dogs over for training, they don't bark to go out but will sit by the door hoping to be noticed, not a good system especially at night. Rosie sounds like a good name for a dog with a good disposition. I think it is a good idea too for the older dog to be able to help train plus I think it makes them feel good. I am surprised at how much Andy who is 12 plays with Toby, it has really improved his activity level.
I hope all who are traveling have safe journeys today.

good morning ladies
gosh, I must have missed a post somewhere about Catherine getting a new pup, will have to go searching for that one. Hope
theres pictures somewhere.
Woke up to 57 degrees this morning, have the little heater going but should be able to turn it off in an hour or so. Should get up to 83 today. Laundry is going and soon as thats done I can get my shopping done.
Was intending to get the shed today but son has expressed he wanted a 10x10 tuff shed but thats not gonna happen in my budget!
My choice was a standard tin shed 8x6 , $218, already built the platform for it and said it would be mine while I was here
and after that it would be his. I was kind of expecting to use it for organizing and packing whats going back in the rv, etc,
and be able to clean out my room so everything that was going back into the rv would be clean and free of any unwanted
hitchikers. (bugs of any sort) Anyway, seeings how we still have to sort out the shed issue, I will take my spending budget
over to the verizon store instead and get my smart phone, then go get a Home Depot gift card towards my flooring and next
payday get another one. Then on the following payday I can pay the balance and get the flooring. I kind of like using gift
cards as it gets the money out of my checking account so I only see whats available for incidentals during the payperiod.
Prevents me from doing any of that "spontaneous" shopping, which I can't afford to do right now.
I'm about ready for another cup of coffee and need to shuffle the laundry and toss in another load.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe.
edited to add....found the post on the new pup, Rosie, she's a beauty and I would agree...Malinois

GOOD MORNING ALL!

It's a sunny morning here in St. Cloud, although a bit cool. In the sun it's like a summer day at home, however.

I discovered that my 2 gallon gasoline container had fallen over in the back of the truck and some had spilled on my rug mats in there, and soaked through to the plastic bed liner. Does anyone have any suggestions for getting that horrible stench of gas off that bed liner? The rug mats, which I loved, are hopeless to save, as far as I can tell. They even had a water-proof backing on them, and were really thick. But the gasoline with its permeable viscosity defied all rules and.......! My cold weather sleeping bag was stored back there, and when I opened that up last night to put over me in here, I nearly passed out from the fumes! I can wash that as no gas got on it-----just the fumes permeated it. I had to toss it out the door and today I have it open to the breeze and the sun. Sigh!

We all went to dinner at some Mexican restaurant last night. I really do not like Mexican food, but I tried to be happy as I loved the company of the kids and the O'Briens. ACK! I ordered some chef's plate to make tortillas with and it came with one shrimp, one scallop, a couple of chicken strips, onions and green peppers, all steeped in an obnoxious, greasy sauce of some sort! And, as it was a special, it didn't even come with the tortillas and sour cream I was counting on to make the whole mess edible! The rice was good, but that brown, icky mess they call refried beans (which I had always thought would be REAL beans fried up----not bean paste!) was something that looked like someone had gotten sick on my plate. Can you tell I will never go back to that place?? :) Live and learn, I guess!

After I took my old batteries back for the core refund yesterday, I went across the street to an auction house where they sometimes will sell things outright. I needed a desk chair for the new computer desk I set up back at the house, found several in great shape, and asked how much for one. The guy called the "boss" who said, "if she buys one, charge her 40 dollars. If she buys two, it would be 30." I knew he meant 30 apiece, but the old guy thought it would be 30 total if I bought two, so, of course, I did! A good deal for my old batteries!

Happy to hear that "Rosie" has found herself a loving home and that Sierra is a willing teacher!

Not sure what is on the docket for today, but we shall see. Hope you all have a happy Saturday.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Morning all! It’s a balmy 10* here!

I’m in the process of getting laundry done. I’ll be leaving Tuesday morning for another trade show and getting home late Thursday night. Just hate having to decide what to take along to wear for those things. My “nice” wardrobe is quite sparse since my normal work wear is jeans and t-shirts or polo shirts. Inmates don’t care what I look like…just so I’m there and they can earn their quarter an hour! If they think I'm a little too dressed up they get really concerned that I'm have to go somewhere and will be closing the shops early and sending them back to the units.

We never realized that Radar was one of those sit by the door and wait to be noticed dogs until Tinker, our older Boston, was gone. Tinker was very vocal about needing to go out and must have been Radar’s voice too. Because after she was gone we started having accidents in the house…in the middle of the night you don’t see them sitting by the door. When I look back I feel really bad that sometimes I would get cranky with Tinker because she would wake me up and then not want to go out…Radar would but not her. Guess you can compare it to the youngest child in a family who doesn’t talk because the rest of the kids do it for them. Radar barks when her dish is empty or she doesn’t get her treat when she comes in from doing her business.

Ava, if your son wants the 10x10 shed tell him that you’ll spend what the 8x6 costs and he can pay the difference. It would be a win/win for both of you. You’d have a storage shed for the time you need it and he’d have what he wants when you are finished with it.

Soos, I’m with you on most Mexican food. The chips and salsa and margaritas are my favorite things on the menu! I usually find myself ordering a taco salad. Now Chinese is an entirely different story. Only thing that I’m really looking forward to during my business trip this coming week is that there is a fantastic Chinese restaurant across from the motel!

It’s fun hearing about all the GTGs. Until I can kick that ugly four letter word, I have to live vicariously through all of you lucky travelers.

Good Morning ladies,

Almost noon here, so will be cutting the "morning" part under the wire here. Well, it will be morning when I start this anyway

Been busy on here this morning, catching up emails and doing some FB chat with my downstate cousin. Always enjoy a chat with him.

I see from reading this mornings posts, that everybody's kind of on the cold side for the most part, except those down in AZ. Have to laugh though, about freezing with the temps in the 50's After a long winter of cold weather, if it hit 50's here right now, we would be out in shirt sleeves

Yep, I've got two dogs who don't bark when they want out either. Sassy will pace around here if she really has to go and she will cme to me and just stare. At night she will jump up nad whack me with a paw. Tessa on the other hand, will also give me a nudge if she has to go out a night and if during the day, I am in the living room, she will paw the floor. When I am in the kitchen they will stand by the door. So it boils down to learning how to read our dogs signals.

Now, becasue everyone is concerened, that little piece of "skin" I was talking about yesterday, is a Fibroid. they are cells that can grow and attch themselves to various areas of a womens "lower extremities" shall we say. They are often the reason for histyrectomies from what I have been reading. Sometimes, they cause no issue and don't need anything done at the time. They are not cancerous. So I shall see what my NP propses.

Soos, is you trucks bedliner removable? If so, I would recommend taking it out and giving it a good bath, then leave it to dry in the sun for a coule of days or so. Gas fumes eventually do evaporate. I would also give the interior of your truck a good washing as well and thwo out anything that has the slighest smell of gas. Looks like you did that already though.

Seems everyboy's having a quiet Saturday and just enjoying the day. Ava, I like that suggestion about telling your son that you will pay what you have saved toward the shed and he can chip in the rest. Also like your idea about the Home Depot gift cards. Like using a Christmas club. Very ingenious.

Found out yesterday, that my friend who came over and vacuumed for me last weekend, has to have a Cardiac Cath done on Monday. Apparently wasn't quite up to snuff ths week and by going to doctor, woulld up consulting with a Cardiologist. Doesn't sound serious as she said she would miss about 4 days work. Everybody's falling apart here.

Well, it's time for me to get out of this chair and move around a bit. Working on a couple of little sign projects, so that gives me a chance to stand at the counter for awhile rather than sit in the chair. My choice to do it that way. Als oneed to get out to the mailbox and retrive mail. Will probably jsut hop in my Flex and back down the drive. Easier than having to put boots, jacket and what not on. Have a wonderful afternoon all.

yep, exactly whats on my mind, but now he has to wait cause I spent this weeks shed budget on my new cell phone. He
knows he should have spoke up last night when we talked about it. Now he knows he has to wait until the budget rolls
back in his direction. :D You snooze, you loose.
