The Sea Eagle Arrived

Postby linann » Thu Feb 28, 2013 8:56 pm

I knew something was up before I even got in the door tonight because all the lights were on in the front of the house. Sandy was in the living room assembling the kayak that arrived today. We both climbed in and tried it out. Very comfortable in the living room. This one has smaller tubes on the side so you feel as if you are sitting on top of it instead of down inside. Very exciting. I'll be surprised if Sandy doesn't sleep in it tonight!

Sandy is talking about kayaking on the Ichetucknee early next week for a couple of days. The Ichetucknee is a about an hour north of Gainesville. It is known for tubing in the summer and kayaking river in the winter; no motorized boats allowed. There is a campground right across the street from the entrance to the Park. Anyone in the north part of the state interested in going?

My Sea Eagle kayak arrived yesterday afternoon! I inflated it and put everything together to make sure everything arrived Ok. The instructions say to leave it inflated for 72 hours to insure the kayak is airtight and safe for the water. So now I'm starting to plan my first trip to my favorite kayaking locations.

I'm obligated for music activities this weekend, but was thinking about driving up to Ocala next Monday and camping out with everyone. The weather is supposed to be "not so good" through Monday, but beautiful for Tuesday, warm and sunny. Sounds like perfect kayak weather to me!

So...is anyone still left there in the Ocala area; in North Florida area??? Anyone else interested in a kayak trip to test out my new fangled kayak, with all it's supposed superior designs? The Rainbow River is located within 20 miles or so of the campground where Ermi & Steve are located. The river runs through Rainbow Springs State Park where we can easily launch our kayaks.

There's also a campground just across the street from the North entrance to Itchitucknee Springs state park where anyone who wants to move northward could stay. That park is not far from where Nan's house is located so she might want to join in the fun too.

Anyway, let me know if anyone is interested and wants to make plans for next week.

Sandy
