Good morning all. The weather service predicts 61 degrees and severe clear and sunny today in Utah's Dixie (yeah, that's what they call the southwest corner of the state). Gonna be 70 by the weekend.

For the first time, my little doggie Annie stood on my chest at 3:30 this morning to let me know she needed to go out NOW. And she did, even though I walked her just before turning in.

I much prefer that to the alternative of her NOT waking me up.

My late doggie Bandit would do that ... which I only minded when we were camped next to a Louisiana bayou in the spring & I had to dress myself from ankle up to my neck to go out with the 'skeeters. Those nightime hunters were, uh, persistent.

Good Morning Beth and Kethleen,

Beth, so nice to see you start Coffee this morning. Kathleen, sounds like you are starting to pack and sort. Well, it will keep you busy for a while I'm sure.

So, it's past 11L30 a.m. here in MI and there are only two people on this morning. Hmmmm Everybody must be busy with other personal things to have time to get on here. Lori and Ernie I know are getting ready to move north a bit tomorrow so are probably packing and getting ready to move, saying goodbye to friends etc. Or maybe busy building that ark! Red is probably immersed inside RED getting organized. Are you planning to try to make that Allegro GTG that you had mentioned awhile back? And who knows what everybody else is doing.

I just got home from a morning at the Chiropractor's office. She wanted me to get a massage done to help my muscles, but I was having pain again last night, so asked if she could check and make any adjutments before I did that this morning, which she did. The I went and got a half hour massage, followed by a complete Nuerological exam as well. Tomorrow I go back again to see if any admustments are needed and so forth. She has also requested a copy of the xray report again. Her assessment is that my problem now is not skeletal but muscular and that is going to take time to heal. Any of you who have had strained, torn or pulled muscles know how painful they can be. Having taken that slip on the ice but not falling casued everything in my lower back and pelvis to get all out of whack and the muscular system to get stretched, inflammed and what not. She says I will be okay, but it's just going to take time. I'm now putting ice on my back about 15 minutes every hour or so to help get the imflammatin down. Thanks for all your concerns ladies, and i know some of you think I should go to an orthopedic doctor, but it isn't necessary. She will send me to one if she feels she can't do anything more. All they will probably do is xray, give me some pain meds and probably prescribe physical therapy. Pain meds and I don't get along and the physical therapy won't do much more than I'm doing here and she is doing there.

I will be leaving again in a couple of hours to go see my NP and get the results of my January blood work. I agree with Soos about them not giving out that info and keping thins so secret anymore. Used to be when you went in for blood work, you got a letter shortly after, telling you your results and asking to make an appt. if they wanted to see you. Now you have to get an appt. to go find out. I know I am going to go in, she is going to tell me my cholesterol is high, i know that, I'll find out if anything else is out of whack, which usually isn't. Talk about diet etc. okay, get another test in 3 months and that's it. Then go pay an office call for all that

Poor Sassy is standing here and wishing for me to take her for a walk, but sorry, I am not going today. I know they have trouble understanding why we can't go, but nothing I can do about that. We did take one yesterday and probably will tomorrow as well. But I am planning on a weekend of rest and not doing much. Do need to get up and move around though os the muscles don't get stiff and walking is good. The road is greadually working it's way down to ice now, so after this weekend, will probably not be walkkng much unless it get slushys or some bare road starts showing up. The long slow thawing process of March is beginning. Fortunaely we only got less than an inch of snow last night, so no blowing for the forseeable future right now :)

Also need to sit down this afternoon and write a letter to my boss at Otsego, expalining what's been going on, plans for retirement and that I have decided that I will not be returning for this upcoming summer. Was going to stop by and talk with him, but back is bothering me too much to bother with that right now.

Got a letter from the SS folks telling me what I need to bring over there for my apppt. Onlly my banks traansfer numbera and my account number. I plan to take some other documents along too just so I will have them.

Well, sorry to be rattling on about my health issues, but ti's the only thing happenng in my life right now. Hope you are all haivng a wonderful day, keeping dry and

Here are a couple:

This is when she first came to live with me. She was shaved to the skin because when animal control
picked her up she was matted to the skin

Still pretty cold here, so she has her own fleece pullover.

GOOD LATE MORNING ALL!

My new batteries that I installed yesterday are fluctuating from being 3/4 fully charged to fully charged. I have no idea why that is happening other than that my converter must be working now and then! The new converter is due to be delivered today, and my son will hopefully install it tonight when he gets home from work. The only DC power I think I have used is my antenna booster, my radio yesterday, and my outside light last night. I would not think that little bit of usage would deplete my batteries by a third? Sigh----puzzles. Always puzzles to solve, but I suppose they keep us thinking and trying and on our toes.

Kathleen, moving will be a big doing for you. Any idea just where you will be living yet? Keep at your weight loss in the meantime, and feel good! Don't overdo things.

Sue I am so sorry to hear you are still suffering such pain with those tears and maladjustments that slip on the ice did to you. Not being to sleep or do anything is very disheartening, to say the least, as I well remember from this time last year when I broke my ribs. You cannot get comfortable enough to sleep, you cannot move around at ALL without agonizing pain, and even getting oneself to the bathroom becomes a big and painfull event. It sounds as if you have decided to retire at last, and I think that you will find that to be a good move for yourself. Hope to meet you on the roads!

Lori, your schedule is getting checked off in short order! I love the way you write things down---I need to do a lot more of that kind of organization!

HAPPY THURSDAY TO ALL!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning all. Already been to the dentist this AM for 6 mo cleaning and check up :P The tree people are here now trimming all the crepe myrtles and pecan trees out back. They cut down and removed several pecan trees along the drive way. We are going to put gravel down to make a pad for RED next to the driveway were the trees used to be. :P

Spent last night trying to figure out where to put everything. All the storage bins don't fit in RED's cupboards..isn't that always the way? The dish strainer from Monty doesn't fit, etc, etc. etc. I spent a few hrs cutting and placing that rubber mesh stuff on the bottom of shelves and drawers to keep things from sliding around and rattling. I miss my big broom closet where I hung leashes, kept broom, mop, etc. No linen closet either. I guess the washer & dryer occupy that space. I think I'd rather have the space. I'm not complaining. Just expressing frustration. :x

If the weather is good we will head to Kansas City, MO and then St. Louis, MO in just 2 weeks :o boy I gotta get busy. DD and her BF are coming from Seattle and will be here to house sit :P This will be the maiden voyage  Just get in and drive and figure it out as you go!! :P

I am up and have accomplished only a little. Had a teleconference from my dept chair, and answered students' questions about the assignment I posted four weeks ago and is due on Wednesday, but that they should have started working on three weeks ago and obviously have not done so! Oh, well.

It has cooled down considerably on the east coast of Florida, which is fine with me. I like the cold nights for sleeping and it is pleasant enough outside for us northerners. (Floridians complain if it gets below 65!) I will get some work done today and then take a walk on the beach later today.

I had a little lizard visitor a couple of days ago and was not able to catch him. I have not seen him so I hope he has managed to find his way out somehow--maybe under the slide?? I am not frightened of him, but I dislike being surprised and worry about stepping on him at night. No ants around anymore for him to eat, in any case.

We just got back from a great RZR ride! We made one stop at just the right time and saw 5 sheep in the distance - first of the season. Didn't have the good camera with me but did have binoculars. After the last big rain, the desert is turning green and saw some flowers today! Wind is blowing, but at least temps in the 60s!

We are back on the road again. Made it from Wildwood to Tallahassee today. Boy howdy, was it windy today. Had a hard time keeping the rig in my lane. Several times gusts moved me over onto the shoulder of the road. Not fun! My back and arms are sure sore from fighting the steering wheel. Going to take a pain pill before going to bed tonight.

Red, we should be in OK probably the latter part of the 2nd week of March.

Sue, be sure and take care of your back. Wait until that ice melts before you get out, if you can.

Judy, we had to laugh on those days in the 60's. Paul and I would be in tee shirts and shorts. The Floridians would be in coats. Different perspectives.

Hope everyone had a great day today.

Little Annie is just adorable. When her fur grows a little more, she won't be so shy?? Some dogs feel really ashamed when their fur is clipped so short.
