Good afternoon
It was sad to say good bye this morning to Steve, Irmi, and Tina.
Very tempted to tag along with Tina especially after checking weather at home but I was good and headed northward. Just a little north of Gainsville so not much of a drive. Not sure how long I will hang around north FL but probably longer than I had intended. Do not want to head home with snow flurries in forecast, tho it won't be a lot warmer here.
Nicky has been enjoying off leash time here in nice fenced yard, I have excellent company and for now some warm sunshine. What more could one need.

JoanE, hope you didn't get any damage from the twister that hit Tampa yesterday. Plese check in and let us know.

Sue, I didn't even know about it! It was very windy here in Sarasota. Maggie did not want to be out in it. She must have had a sense that things could go haywire.

Today was an exhausting day for me. Cardiac rehab this morning and then hurry back to the rig to meet the roadside assistance guy. Once again I killed all my batteries. All three were replaced last April when I did this. Anyway, he gave me a jump start and we let it run a while. Turned the motor off and the battery was dead. He gave it another jump and told me how to find Interstate so I could get the battery replaced. Turned on my genie to charge the house batteries, packed up the rig for travel (realizing I have accumulated too much stuff these past few months) and off I went to Interstate. They took out the dead battery and gave me a loaner. Then they checked the house batteries which were fully charged. Headed home and had to set up the rig again. Will return to Interstate on Friday for either my fully charged battery or a new one.

Never did eat lunch so I was very hungry by 4pm. Fixed my dinner, sat down to eat and realized I was exhausted. Told DD that I would not be going to beading class tonight. How did I do this every day while traveling? I will have to begin taking some weekend trips to the local state parks to get my stamina back. Need to make a big sign that reminds me to start the engine and the genie while sitting for a long time. Looking into solar with input so far from Liz and Beth. I need an idiot proof system.

Joan, I don't understand why your engine battery died so soon. I can see that happening to the house batteries if you are using lights, etc. and not charging them over time. But I have sat a long time without starting engine and it still starts right up. Need to find out what is drawing it down.

I start my engine every month. Sometimes every other month. Pooker on this forum has to put a trickle charge on her engine battery as they've never figured out what kills it, but it kills all the time.

Solar won't help with the engine battery unless you do a hookup to it also.

Liz, that is exactly what the battery guy said. When I come back they will see if something is drawing power from the battery. This rig came with so many extras, so it is possible that something is hooked up that I am totally unaware of.

My SIL just gave me a trickle charger for when I am parked long term with shore power. Of course, the battery needs to be charged up first.
