Janet, I got so tickled at your description of TX heat. So true. That being said, I can take the heat much better than the cold in the winters west of Ft. Worth, where we hale from. That's why I am going to be workamping in Oklahoma all summer. Not everyone can take the heat. Last year, in July, I watched workampers take off from the SP because they just could not take the heat.

Janet, I just love your positive attitude  :o :) Think of all the folks that survived in TX before ac was available.  I only lived in Houston one year when I was 8 but I don't remember being permanently melted. I do remember swimming in the community pool everyday I could ride my bike over......

yes, Tina,, i was one of those survivors! I remember as a kid begging my hard headed parents to get an air conditioner when all the other neighbors had one. We slept under fans all my life at home,,, until I was about 14..when they finally gave in and got window units,,,sheesh! It's hot and humid in Dallas too....let me tell ya. Now,, im the one who starts dreading the summer about in February,,,,or,, is it November??

All i know is,, when i finally get my rv,, i plan to bug out to cooler climes by the middle of May and ya'll can keep the Texas heat.

:P

Janet, I was a survivor too. I can remember going outside to sleep because it was cooler than in the house. The first house I rented after high school didn't have A/C. Boy did I have a lot of fans going.
