I used to be a "mountain woman"

I shot guns and chopped down trees :D

Hated to see this tree come down, it was the biggest one we had but it leaned on the cabin right on
top of the bedroom. It did not go to waste, it provided us with lots and lots of firewood, our main
source of heat and cooking.

Is that a log cabin behind you?
Where did you grow up, Annie?

GREAT pics, Ava! You are indeed a mountain woman! I love that neat seat you made out of the tree stump-----very ingenious idea to remember your tree in years to come!

Thanks for sharing this glimpse of you that we never met!

yes, that is the log cabin we had. It was built in 1941 from logs off the land. Annie? and I've been called
Annie Oakley many times over the years. After the divorce I couldn't go up there anymore, too many memories.
But now I can look at the old pics without crying. Time does heal.

and did it that way, if all works well, you should see my picture of me shooting my blackpowder pistol.
