Advantages of Being Short

Postby JudyJB » Thu Feb 21, 2013 11:12 am

OK, enough of the short jokes. We short folks do have some advantages, so here are a few:

1) We fit into airlines seats without hitting our knees on the seat in front of us.
2) We can sleep in an RV bed without our feet hanging over the end.
3) We have an excuse to sit on the curb with the kids for parades.
4) We can shorten clothing, but don't have to worry about not lengthing it to fit.
5) We get to stand in the front row for group photos.
6) We provide jokes and humor for tall people.

Any other contributions?

I'm not sure what is considered short but I am probably headed that way. I never did think I was tall at 5'4". The last time I was measured, which was several years ago, I had lost an inch. My DH came in miffed one day because some guy had told him that he use to think my DH was tall.

It is a good excuse also for being "overweight." I tell people I am just "under-tall" for my weight!

I think they put me in the front of the line every time in elementary school because I was the shortest girl.

The weight bit is the biggest challenge of being short. Long, long ago I learned that the "average" calories most can eat are no where close to what I can eat. That's the only real negative I have to my "shortness".

Hey, I resemble that remark. Boy, MIA for what seems like forever, and first thing (or close to it), you're slammin' a short chick. Bully. ;)

I'm 5'8" so can't relate but I never thought of being short as a negative before. But now that you mention it, there are other "shorts" with a definite negative connotation.

Short straw
Short changed
Short sale
Shorting stock
Short end of the stick
Short lived
Short tempered
A dollar short

Any others? How about "Hey Joan. Cut this short!" :x
