My Sweet Breeze

Postby dcricket » Sun Jan 11, 2009 5:19 am

Realized I hadn't posted a pic of my rig yet. Had trouble as I ended up getting logged out when I went into Photobucket, then couldn't get back in because it kept saying my info was incorrect. Took me two tries at resetting my password to get back in, but I persevered and am now ready to post away once again.... :)

So here is a picture from when I was camped with Evie and Laura at San Mateo campground Sep of 07. Had to back in between those telephone poles and get positioned just right so I could open up my slides and my door. Thank goodness for Evie, and my friend Denice that came with me. (it was her first time RVn - said she wanted to get an RV now, that is until I showed her how to hook up, disconnect and stow the sewer hose. ;) She's not much in to that part. Must admit, it's not one of the most glamorous parts of the adventure ;)

I use to have some good internal pics, but lost them when my other computer crashed :(
Hopefully will be able to get her on the road in 09 for an occassional GTG and some more photos :)

Nice size rig for bopping around in.

If you are in the Death Valley area -- in case you've not been there yet...be sure to visit Scottie's Castle.

We actually broke down going down the hill into there in 2002, lost our air dryer so had to coast down on our retarder (could not touch the brakes). We spend the night in their parking lot despite the fact they don't allow overnight camping, then had a low boy come in and haul us on the long road to Las Vegas (our destination anyways) all in the middle of June when it was no less than 109 degrees outside. Trust me -- I'll never visit the desert in summer again! Next time we do Vegas it will be in the dead of winter!

Today it's sunny and will be in the 40's. It was about the same yesterday. Tomorrow we'll have cooler temps and a chance of snow.

Sweet Breeze for sure, Cricket!
That is a nice MH,.. not too little and not too big. I would say it's just about perfect!

Well because inquiring minds wanted to know....
Here is what I tow out to the desert (my Alba Suzuki Z400 with all the bling and a super super suspension which makes it ride like a Cadillac across the bumpy dunes. certainly makes a difference at the end of the day...body doesn't ache like it use to.)

...and a little excitement Waaaaaahhoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

Death Valley in the Summertime...OH No! and with mechancial problems to boot...no thanks. Even in March it would get warm during the day, but the whole time there was absolutely fantastic. Could'nt have asked for better weather, better planned activities, or a better person to be with. OH, and Yes, couldn't miss Scotty's Castle,

as well as many many other places. I took almost 3000 digital pictures over the 5 day trip. Think I drove Sharon nuts, but she is so tollerant of me :)

Rig is so easy to drive and she's the perfect size, as any bigger I'd never get her up my road, driveway, and beside the garage. I have park on the side of the road at the bottom of my hill (see pic of packed and ready to go -- the hill behind is the steep drive up to my home), then I drive down the Jeep to hook-up for tow, or have the flatbed with quads unhook then back RV up to and hook up flatbed, then drive vehicle back up to the house, then walk back down over the hill and do final walk around of rig and trailer before heading out. A pain in the butt process, but simply can't manage the RV and anything behind it around the two 90 degree angle turns and 45degree sloped hill. It's all good. We manage.

Great pictures...nice looking rig....and doesn't that desert vehicle look like fun! I think I should get one so my body won't ache at the end of the day too!

Yup guess I did kinda word that wrong... Heck wish my aches and pains would be gone that easy. I still ache after a long hard day of riding, but not nearly as bad as I use to before the beefed up suspension was installed. This kind of activity can be nice if you take it easy and follow the mellow runs through the dunes, but with the men of our house, you either hafta keep up with the big dogs or stay behind with the pups. I like to think I can pretty much hang in there with the best of em, but I like to hang back and allow them to have their testosterone runs every now and then. It's a guy thing they tell me. ;)
