Breeezy Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Breeezy Wednesday

Postby Colliemom » Wed Feb 20, 2013 7:49 am

Good Morning from the snowy 45th,

Well, the most recent snowstorm has passed on, but not before dumping me with around 4-5 inches of snow here, high winds causing problems all over, more snow in other places, windchills in the below zero readings and closing every school and what not in the northern lower and eastern U.P. of Michigan. Now I am sitting here with this back situation facing a drive and deck full of snow  Louise, you mentioned that maybe my neighbor whom I have helped last summer while his wife was getting lung transplant surgey, would be willing to do my drive. I know he certainly would be, except that they are in FL for the winter. Her doctors suggested she get out of the cold due to her lung transplants. So I am keeping their drive ipen this winter. Starting to feel like i own the place

You all are welcme for breakfast this mrning, but this cook is not messing in the kitchen much, so you will have to fix your own. I have eggs, bacon and sausage here along with bread for toast and some OJ.

I"m so enjoying reading about everybody's adventures right now and all the excitement about getting new rigs, new tow hook ups, converting vans into RV's of your choice, the GTG's, the travels etc. So much fun going on and I'm sitting here in the frozen north dreaming.

Went to my chiropractor yesterday and got another adjustment on my back as well as another laser treatment. I'm feeling a bit better now and the pain in one area is gone. That was mostly "referred" pain, caused by the disc being out of place. It will take about two weeks for everything to get back to normal roughly. Due to the fact that I go to her on a regular basis and keep my spine and body "tuned up", it won't take me as long as somebody who doesn't see a chiropractor when they need one or just goes for rountine checkups like I do. I have learned so much about the human body over the years I have been going there.
As I start feeling better, I have to keep reminding myself not to get too carried away here as my energy level is returning and I know there are things needing doing around here. Maybe I should train the grils to sweep the floor with the tails

Got some sad news yesterday afternoon, that one of our co workers who used to work at the park, passed away this past weekend. He was 73, but had been having some health issues over the past year or two. He was one of those "grump old men" you would call him, but very loveable. Did maintenance. No funeral. Family plans a gathering later this summer, but some of us at the park are trying to see if we can do something too. FB has been busy with chatter among us.

Time to run along here and let the rest of you start chiming in. Hope you all have a wonderful day today, no matter what you are doing.

Good morning Sue & all who follow,
Sue, take it easy with that back - especially in dealing with the snow. I'm like you loving all the adventures going on here while I continue to go to work each day & dream of trips for the springtime. If anyone is in the midwest, I will probably come say hello - as long as I can do it on a weekend. ;)
Sue, sorry to hear about your co-worker too. Hope you all are able to pull together in his remembrance - Mom always thought the world should stop for a bit when someone passes - time to acknowledge their life & love. She let our world stop for a week as we planned her service full of unseasonably warm weather in the middle of winter when she passed. The day of the funeral was rainy & cold - back to standard January/February fare which was her way of saying - ok, now, get on with your lives...

Snow is supposedly headed our way tonight... The news channels make it such a big deal - you'd think it was the storm of the century. Maybe 6-10 " - but with our luck it'll probably be less. :? Even work is coming up with a notification plan for staff - I've been there 18 years & we've never closed... although I'd be ok with a day off :D - it's just the hype that drives me nuts. :x

Oh well, I'd better get moving - need to make a couple of stops on the way in...
Stay safe & warm, everyone.

Good morning Sue, Catherine, Carol & all to follow. Sue, take it easy with your back. it is so easy to over do when we start to feel better :P Cnq, stay warm and safe with all the snow. Carolb is settling for a little while with Tig and April. It is over cast and will rain today. But the temps will stay in the 60s.

DH is headed to go pick up the truck from the Ford dealer. Then have to wait till Friday to pickup Monty from the dealer. So we'll spend the weekend moving out and probably take delivery of RED on Monday. I have an appt with Neuro Dr today for my neck and head. Then I have to go take a drivers Ed class to get rid of that speeding ticket I got when driving those wild women Birdie and Sprinter down by MDA. 62 in a 50 zone  Anyway you can take class online or go to a 6 hr class. There is one nearby that is a comedy driver's class at the Comedy Spot that fulfills TX qualifications. So, I'm off to comedy driving school :P

Everyone have a great day and stay safe out there on the road. Aloha, y'all

Good morning Sue, Catherine and Carolb.

Sue, make sure you don't try to do too much clearing that snow. You sure don't want to re-injure your back now that it sounds like it is getting some better. Is there anyone else, besides your neighbor you can ask to clear your drive and deck?

Catherine, I hope you do get a day off if you get a lot of snow there. There's always a first time for your office to close.

Carolb, I know you will enjoy your visit with your friend there in AZ. In addition to Beth, Sheila and I think Anita are also in AZ. I think Sheila is around Quartzsite (sp?). I think Anita is close to there too. Since I don't know where everything is in AZ, not sure about the distances from where you are.

Red, enjoy your Comedy Driving School. Hope the Neuro appointment goes well today. It's probably good that you will have more time to get everything shifted into RED before you take her out for the maiden camping trip.

I just finished my second cup of coffee and need to get dressed for the day. I am sitting in front of a service bay at Alliance RV. HissyFIT was not ready as promised yesterday. May or may not be ready today. I posted my venting about this in General Talk so won't get into it here. Wendy and Sarah made it in yesterday afternoon and hopefully I will get to spend more time with them today than just the quick Hello I got yesterday.

I hope everyone has a great day today and if you are traveling, stay safe.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

Sue be really careful with that "slipped" disc as many injuries to the spinal cord happen as a result of such a slip. I will be thinking of you and hoping you are NOT thinking of shoveling any snow whatsoever.

Carolb happy to hear you will settle for a while and enjoy your freedom while taking in company and sights and sites!

Red, you have a busy week ahead of you, not the least of which will be your comedy driving school! I would love to sit in on that series of lessons, although not as a student!

The dogs and I are heading home this morning to an empty house as Kathy was planning to move out yesterday to a hotel or somewhere until she decides what her next move will be. Irreconcilable differences is how I regard what happened to the roomie thing, I guess. I doubt I will ever know or understand what caused her to blow up at me, but with no apologies whatsoever from her, I guess she really did mean exactly what she said. Hence, no possible way I could ever again trust anything she would tell me as she said that she had been pretending happiness. I will actually miss the girl I thought she was and the person I thought was having fun doing things together here in sunny FL. I wish her the best of luck in her endeavors and hope to still have some contact with her in the future.....just not under the same roof. I am very devastated by the whole event.

Next Wednesday Melissa's parents will be coming here for a few-days visit, and I will come back to spend the time with them. In the meantime, I have another doc appointment on Monday to find out what the latest biopsy results are and what's next on the agenda for me. I am nervous to hear biopsy results, of course.

Hope everyone has a fun day wherever you may be and whatever you may be doing.

Happy travels!

Morning all!

Sue - I hope all that snow means that Lake Michigan will be somewhat higher come spring? And I will echo the others to be careful with all that snow.

Catherine - I fully understand your frustration. I would love to be out blowing and going with these sisters, but alas, that 4-letter word keeps me tied to home for now. I'm not as brave as Beth and some of the others to just do it and get out there.

Red - I'm excited for you!

Soos - hugs to you.

Well, I have a sore throat this weekend and my ears are stopped up. Spring allergies are starting to kick in and have the sinus drainage. Ugh!

Good Morning,

Carolb, Dawn is correct, I am in AZ about 35 miles east of Quartzsite on Hwy 60 near Salome. If you are on the west side of Phoenix, I'm about 1 1/2 hours.

We had a nice desert ride with one other couple yesterday. Clouds rolled in, wind picked up and we had rain overnight. Not going to be very warm today...or for the next several days.

I took some things to storage - was so excited to be taking a bit of weight out of here. Of course, I brought stuff back from storage! Today will be getting it all put away.

What a mixture of good, bad and ugly news on this site. Reminds us to take the good when we get it because the bad will probably rear its ugly head again at some point.

To all, enjoy your day whatever it brings.

Another overcast day. The thermometer says it's 50 but I went to get something out of my van and it didn't feel that cold. It's not as windy and that makes a big difference. The radar shows rain in North Louisiana that is going North East but the whole mess might be moving South. We have rain predicted for the rest of the week.

Yesterday was mostly a lost day for me. I woke up early with a migraine and didn't feel better until after 5:00 in the afternoon. I was feeling good about not having one for a while and then had a bad one. Ice bag, pacing, changing beds and throwing up. Monday I went to Lafayette with my friend and we ate Mexican food and I had a margarita. One margarita doesn't usually bother me but this one had about 5 different kinds of fruit juice so who knows what set me off.

Soos, sorry about your friend. It's hard to find someone to get along with in close quarters. I have trouble traveling with my sister and son. My son is already talking about going to Florida again this summer to pick up his son. I don't want to go. And he's sure not taking my motorhome.

Red, have fun in your driving school. I went to a defensive driving school with my younger son to be sure he went and didn't sleep through the class. When I thought about the amount of driving he actually got in the school class I thought he needed more. Think it might have paid off, he hasn't had a wreck yet. His brother wrecked a truck the first time we let him go to town alone. Sometimes when I'm driving something I learned will come back to me.

Yes, Shiela(snowball) is still in Quartzsite. Carolb, glad your dogs are getting into RVing too. I think they like exploring all the new places and making new friends too.

Dawn, hope they get your work done and not take all day. Wish these places would learn not to lie to people and then get caught in their lie. I would hate to try to get RV work done anywhere around here if I was full timing. Most of the time I can't get in for a month and they want to keep it for a month.

I need to go to town so better get moving.

Probably good afternoon by now.

Started the day somewhat chilly but has warmed nicely for the afternoon; headed for down right hot in a couple of days - 90s or there about.

Since Dawn was lounging at the RV dealer parking lot last night, Wendy and I took in the parks bingo night. Cost $5.00 and lasted about an hour and half. I won a $3.00 game but Wendy was the big winner - $23.00; almost enough to cover cost of a night here.

Nicky is not feeling well. for the first time ever, he got me up during the night whining. Took him out a couple of times; seems to have upset stomach/ lower track distress. Don't know of anything he might have gotten into; hoping it is just reaction to his schedule being so totally disrupted with trip.

I was just thinking on the ride up to Wildwood yesterday how lucky I am to be 70+ and doing this for the first time. Many of you have been such an inspiration to me. THANK YOU!!!

Hope ou are having a great day.

Made a list (unheard of for me) of things I want to do/accomplish. Top of that was getting my tax info to my accountant. It had to wait till I got the last documents. All but one were in my forwarded mail yesterday. So today, got all my spreadsheets and word documents together and scanned in all the documents in the mail and emailed all that to my acct. Had a heck of a time fighting to see and print the missing document, so contacted the bank that I need it from and they have faxed it. Whew ... top of list crossed off.

Problem is, I have so much more on the list (one reason I don't do lists is they overwhelm me. I'm the opposite of most people who love them. They make me feel I'll never get it all done. So I may have lists in my head ... but not on paper. Hopefully I haven't sabotaged myself with this one. But I'm hoping the cold spell that came in today and is staying a bit, will be conducive to me doing lots of these things.

Anita, you couldn't decide if you just want Mitch in the corner, or if she needed to STAND in the corner, eh? I love it.

You got it, Beth! Guess I haven't had to tell anyone to stand in the corner for a long time - if ever - so didn't start with the right terminology!

L and I went to the veggie stand and to have propane tanks filled. Got back just in time for freezing rain! We can see snow in the mountains east of us. Isn't this Arizona?
