Warmer Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Warmer Tuesday

Postby Dawn309 » Tue Feb 19, 2013 6:19 am

Good morning. It's supposed to be in the mid to upper 70's again today. Love this sunshine.Just a quick post since I need to get everything stowed to take Sunshine and Hissy FIT over to Alliance RV this morning to get base plate and Stay In Play installed today. I cannot wait to be set up to tow again.

Wendy and Sarah are supposed to be in today. Woohoo! Cannot wait to see them. We're all going to descend on Irmi and Steve for lunch on Thursday. Irmi is fixing us all a great lunch. I sure hope Barb Zee can go too. She hasn't been feeling up to snuff last couple of days after her all night vigil for friend at hospital. Also, her dogs are on a very strict schedule for meds for health issues. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Better get myself in gear to get everything stowed. Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good Morning Dawn and everyone who follows or perhaps posts before this one get up there,

Dawn, you sound so excited to get your new towing hookups going. I know you will enjoy having HissyFIT along so you can explore while you are parked. Am also glad to hear the FL weather has been so great this winter. And looks like more GTG time with Sarah, Wendy, Steve, Irmi and hopoefully BarbZee. I well know that pet medicine routine. Been there done that.

Carolb is certainly making great progress heading west. Will be fun to read her adventures when she has time and service to post all about it. I'm waiitng for her itinerary to see where all she's going.

Looks like another day sitting in the chair with bouts of heating pad today. First must get to Chiropractor for more adjustments and more laser treatment. Think I mentioned late last week that I was having back issues. Took myself to the Walk In Clinic in Gaylord on Sunday afternoon cause the pain was just to bad to function anymore. Turns out xrays showed that I have a slipped disc in myh lower back. So Chiropractor is using two fold treatment of adjustments and the laser thing. That's neat. Just a litle hand held round thingy that they go lightly over your back with and concentrate on spots where the worst pain is. It feels almost like a cool cream being applied to your back but it istead, laser light. Designed to help speed up healing and pain. No side effects etc. I have already noticed some relief since yesterday. Only trouble with going in today, is that we havea winter storm bearing in and the forecast is not good. It's windy and snow is starting to move in gradually. But I will go and hope for the best.
We could see as much as 7-8 inches or more by tomorrow morning. And I hate the thoughs of haivng to drag out my blower again. That's not good for bad backs. But one must do what one has to do and by tomorrow, things may have improved in the back area too. I do wear a back brace thing when I go out as I don't want to take a chance of slipping or something and have to catch myself. That creates a shock to the back as we all know.

Ms. Tessa has been awful quiet these past couple of days as well. That does not bode good either. Seems like she is just getting up long enough to go outside and then back to bed and even those trips are far and few between. She also is not touching any food either from what i can see. I can't monitor her too well right now either cause the food is in another room and I am in my living room. Last week toward the end of the week, she was chowing down fairly well, but this is the nature of the disease. We see her vet on Friday anway.

All schools closed again. Everybody's out of snow days, so ther's going to be a shorter summer vacation coming up. I believe our schools here already have to make up at least 3 days not counting today. And due to the fact that they are on a winter break weekend, they just got it extended by one day.

Watching the news, I see that there have been two collisions with county road plow trucks this past weekend resulting in a father and daughter being killed in one accident and a wormen in another. In both cases, the drivers who were killed ran stop signs into the paths of the plow trucks. One of my coworkers husband also had an accident with a county plow here last week. But in this case it was the plow drivers fault as he pulled out from the road commission entrance into his path. Apparently didn't see him coming. Car got a litle banged up in front, otherwise everybody's okay. So not a good weekend for the county guys around up north here. Those other two accidents were in seperate counties.

Well, enough for this morning. Hope the weather down south warms up for all of you down there. Have a great day and keep safe if you are on the road.

Good morning all. Dawn, I love the name Hissy FIT for your TOAD. Carolb, you are having such a great time. DH and I went up to White Sands on this recent trip out west. It is so beautiful, like drifts of snow!! Sue, hope Tess feels better and that you don't get too much more snow.

I have a lot to do to get ready to take delivery of RED. First, the truck is still at the Ford dealer for warranty stuff. Second, Montana is at dealer for warranty work. As soon as we get truck back we have to go get Monty, bring her home, unload all the stuff, take out the 2 new recliners, putt back original recliners, take out the 2 6 volt batteries, install original battery, etc. etc. etc. I'm working on getting insurance quotes for RED right now.

There is a Lone Star Allegro Club ( LSAC Houston area Tiffin/Allegro owners) that camp one weekend of the month except during summer. They are having their Feb rally this weekend at a lake nearby. 12 rigs are registered. Hoping to make it for Sat just to drive her and practice parking, and meet the people :P

Everyone have a great day and stay safe if you are on the road. Aloha, y'all

Good Morning,

Carolb, I have always wanted to go back to White Sands. Late hubby and I hiked it - me in bare feet. Felt like a little kid playing in the snow.

Agreed to go riding again today before weather turns colder, windy and possibly wet. I never did count how many of us were out yesterday, and I have no idea where we were suppose to be going. Did end up at a mine that is being set up to open again, but otherwise pretty boring. My plan is to go to storage when we get home - leave some stuff and retrieve some stuff.

After boondocking for so long, I am adjusting. I was so in the routine of firing off the genny to make my coffee.

Time for another cuppa.

Have a good day all.

OUCH, Sue! I'm glad your back is responding to treatment, anyway. Maybe your neighbors could clear your driveway this time? I know you've helped them before. I hope your back heals quickly.

Oh, HissyFIT is a great name! Have fun at lunch, Dawn.

I'm off to get some grab bars installed in the Adventuremobile. Goodies!

GOOD MORNING ALL!

The day has dawned warm and sunny here in St. Cloud at my trailer site, and the outside thermometer which hangs in the sun is reading over 100 already! WOW----what a difference from yesterday when there was a heavy frost all over the grounds.

It will be a perfect day for me to wash the trailer and get all those dreaded black streaks off of it!

Kathy is moving out of my house today and into a hotel or motel until she can find a place of her own down here, I think. I will actually miss her company as I had thought she was relatively happy doing what we were doing, but apparently I was so very wrong. Sigh----I wish her well whatever she decides to do.

I guess Sarah and Wendy are back on their journey north with a stop to visit Dawn and Irmi and Steve----I wish them a safe trip and hope the weather holds up for them as they head back into the tornado alley. Linda and Sandy were wonderful hostesses for them while they were in this area, and I was happy to visit with them as well.

Sue, thank heavens you had some x-rays taken of that sore back of yours----no wonder the pain was so intense. Slipped discs are nothing to fool with. I only hope your chiropractor knows precisely what he/she is doing so as to avoid any further damage. Tessa's being so sick again is no fun either with your feeling so much pain. I will send some strength your way.

Donna, the next time you plan to go to Wickham, let me know, and perhaps I will haul there for a week myself. The girls said the park is beautiful and that I shouldn't have any trouble parking my trailer there.

Red, I can't wait for pics of RED! How exciting for you!

I hope you all find some fun things to do today wherever you may be.

The weather is gorgeous here with blue skys and a balmy breeze. We sat on the patio after a late breakfast sipping coffee and talking. Wendy and Sarah left a few minutes ago for Wildwood to meet up with Dawn, for another GTG.

Gorgeous day here in beautiful southwest Utah. Out of coffee, so I used an antique tea bag in a pinch, plus a blueberry bagel. Life is good, hangin' out with you all and my little dog, Annie.

Winds are coming in to AZ now and the cold weather is to follow. Not sure if Carolb should be blamed our not, but they are headed here with her. Going to be cold for a bit. Going to have to start back in long pants, drat it anyway.

Got my smoker today, so will be probably tired of smoked foods in a week as I play with it. Pulled salmon out of the freezer to smoke for dinner tonight. And I'm going to be trying smoking potatoes sometime this week. And and and lol With Mitch's help I think I have 6 flavors of chips. And she hasn't even laughed at me, that I know of, that I purchased a flavor she sent me. She called it oak, I called it bourbon. Same thing. Duh. So she has more cuz I sent her some of the ones I bought.

Good Afternoon Ladies, Beth, sorry the cold is headed your way, just left here and was miserable for two days! Had to keep reminding myself it really was better here then north.

Donna, within the next wk or so hope to be at your CG , have friends in Melbourne and they are planning to visit me there. Hoping to visit you too, and Soos will let you know too, maybe we can all meet up there, I'd like that.

So glad to see you back Janice, you've been missed here, although I have seen you on FB, so knew you were still kicking  :D Thanks Mitch for getting her back here.

We have so many new people, I'm hoping they will all join in, some sound like good people I'd like to know better. Some do an Intro and that's all I've seen, I have missed some post traveling, so hope they've posted.

JanetA, soooooo good to see you posting again, happy for you and DH, he sounds like a keeper :)

Time to join my friend, she had some ph calls and the forum seemed to be calling me to check in
Hope you all are enjoying your day,
CArol :)
