Janet, I just got a solar panel and use it with a small inverter for TV, etc. You will hear from others with more elaborate set ups.

Even with this small panel, I am boondocking without running the generator much at all - just long enough to brew a single cup of coffee, or something quick in the microwabe. Computer and MiFi are plugged in from morning til night. Without solar, I was running generator a couple hours a day. It has also done well when LeRoy was with me and his computer.

Lots of info already on the forum about it - from some of us with them. Search with the terms solar and inverter and you should be able to find what's already out there.

I completely replaced my generator with solar and an inverter. Love it. Upgraded to 4 batteries with it also.

Janet, you might want to read the Quick Tip about Harbor Freight solar power. There is a lot of difference between solar power systems.

That system wouldn't be good for more than charging the battery when not using the rig. You really need to know what you need. I'd guess they have other systems, but that certainly isn't a deal.
